The strength of the American Constitution will solve the problems of alleged violations. While criminal charges are gross because of unintententional misdemeanor violations which are the outcome of unintentional errors. The court will be careful in sorting out the case. He reimbursed his lawyer for money paid out under a legal contract and settlement of claims, and as such the designation is appropriate. On this basis alone, an acquittal is warranted. Second, even if you disagree with the latter, there is absolutely no evidence that Trump did it with the specific intent to violate a campaign finance law. In fact, Hope Hicks, and now Cohen, acknowledged that he was concerned about the impact on his family and brand. Thus, if there were multiple purposes, he must be acquitted. Cohen was supposed to provide the necessary link to Trump's intent, but he admitted on the stand that he lied to the jury and that the call in which he allegedly told Trump that the transaction was done was not accurate. For these reasons, the FEC determined there was no violation, and the Southern District of NY refused to prosecute. Bragg's decision to do so is hopelessly flawed because he lacks the jurisdiction to prosecute this alleged crime, so even if a misguided jury convicts, reversal on appeal is almost certain. I predict a hung jury or acquittal. And to be clear, I am not a Trump supported. But I do believe in fairness and that this trial is the antithesis of that.
