The Fault In Our Stars is one of my fav books ever. It was crafted so well. Now I must check out his other books since I have been hearing such great things about his writing style.
This brought back all sorts of memories from my first quarter in college ceramics. They say it takes 7-10 years to master throwing (if you throw every day) so don't feel bad you guys!
Felicia's pot can use as a huge ashtray. And i know how hard it is to get it all round. The fun thing with clay is that you can always change your mind for what it is suppose to be. It's you clay there for your creating, and only you can tell other's what is should be.
I've loved Amy's charater on The Guild from the very begining but I can honestly say I love her more with her just being herself! I totally agree that Amy should have her own blog! 8-D
Enjoyed Amy as the guest host, I like the guest host segments to mix it up. Score one for John Green. The Fault In Our Stars and Looking for Alaska are great. Felicia's pot looks pretty alright for a first attempt, better then my work.
Hahaha... well played, Amy! You were highly entertaining hosting this. Come back to sub for Felicia any time! Also, the pottery segment was way too funny. One of my favorite Flog segments so far. Double win!
I started watching The Guild and all of these vids cause Im a huge fan of Felicia Day but now im also a huge fan of Amy Okuda. That girl seriously cracks me up. :D
I've totally seen that Bitterroot pottery place somewhere before. I think it was on Storage Wars. I remember it because I lived close to the Bitterroot Valley in Montana and the Bitterroot is the state flower.
Amy did a great job of guest hosting. She had big shoes to fill, and did it well, while adding her own style to the show. She most definitely did not FTBA.
Felicia's bowl is actually a metaphor for life. Seriously. We all start out as unformed clay, ready to be molded. As the planet spins beneath us, we are shaped by the forces around us. Whilst young, we are soft and malleable and easily changed. When old, we are hard and rigid and set in our ways. So mocketh not Felicia's bowl - the story of that misshapen bowl is the story of our own troubled souls... Plus you can also use it to eat Frosted Flakes. They're Grrrr-reat!
You are far too kind! I myself am not quite sure who I am. But when I'm not feeling existential, then I'm just a random girl who happens to think that Felicia Day and Geek and Sundry are the cat's meow, the bee's knees, the cream of the crop, as well as any other colorful, complimentary metaphors that I can think of :)
Throwing on the wheel is very hard. For a first attempt what they got is really quite good. It took me a week or more before I could anything that didn't just fall apart before I was finished,
