BULAN is a moon god. BAKUNAWA is the sea dragon who keeps on swallowing moon gods and goddesses. BULAN got swallowed by BAKUNAWA and saved by HALIYA (BULAN's sister). Bulan lost his memory when he was spitted out by BAKUNAWA hence the first scene when he got hos memory back. This take is just one of the many Filipino mythology. The aim of this song is for Filipino youth to dig deep into our own culture. This song was featured in GRAMMYS Global Spin series which made him the first full-blooded and home-grown Filipino artist to be featured there.

BULAN (A Bicolano word) which means MOON, the song talks about the BICOLANO Filipino folklore. The Bakunawa is a serpent-like dragon in Philippine mythology. It is believed to be the cause of eclipses, earthquakes, rains, and wind. Did you know that there is actually a town name BULAN in the province of Sorsogon which is part of BICOL REGION.
