Hi, everyone! Thanks for all the comments and for explaining more about the languages you speak in the Philipines. Let me try to explain what happened... (0:23 - 05:39)The first time I watched the MV with english subtitles so I could understand what the song was about. (05:53) The second time (when I got confused with the subtitles) I was trying to learn how to sing the song. Basically trying to connect the sounds with the words in the subtitles (that's how I learn to sing foreign songs). I got confused because I thought the "Filipino" subtitles were the song *lyrics* that's why I felt like there was something wrong. After sometime, I realised it was probably a translation, since the sounds didn't match what was written in the subtitles. For exemple, at 6:08 I _think_ I can hear him saying "if there's a problem, girl, that's you", but the subtitles are saying something completely different. So I thought maybe they decided to make a translation for the english parts. Well, I got really confused with this one 😅😅😅 That's why I want to leave this comment here to thank you guys for explaining in detail and also for giving cultural context about the Philipines 😊 You guys have told me before about how colonization happened there but I was once again amazed by your history. Brazil was colonized by the portuguese and they managed to erase our original identity almost entirely. We spoke more than 1000 languages and today less than a fifth of those survived and are only spoken by those who are still in touch with the native people culture. So to me it's interesting to know that even after colonization you still speak many of your original languages and found a way to understand each other without losing your identity. This is getting too long so let me end it here 😅 Thanks for all your comments 😊💖 STREAM PALAYO 😉✨

No, not really the same , Mirella, but at first glance it does remind one of the Ikalawang Yugto staircase. The two staircases are from 2 different places. The Ikalawang Yugto metal staircase is from Rancho Bernardo Luxury Villas in Bataan while, this white concrete/ marble staircase is from Villa Milagros in Rizal. :)

He is singing in our mother tongue which is Bisaya. "Palayo" is like going away or go away or far away, it depends how you'll use it. Dagan ko PALAYO na sa imo = I ran far away from you PALAYO ra gud nako/sa ako = Get away from me Ayaw PALAYO nako/sa ako = Don't get away from me The staircase was different from the Ikalawang Yugto video.

Ken is singing in Cebuano (a.k.a Bisaya), one of the 180+ languages here in Philippines. It's funny because many Filipinos, just like you, are watching the MV with subtitles because they don't understand the language too. We can only understand one another if we speak Filipino (majority Tagalog language) and English.

The song is in Bisaya. The translation/lyrics you got was Tagalog (it was correct actually). These two are two different languages out of the many here in the PH, but both have the same meaning for Palayo: away. Sample: Tagalog- Takbo PALAYO. Bisaya- Pagdagan PALAYO. English- Run AWAY. P.S. words here in the PH can be confusing at times coz there are words like PALAYO which have the same meaning, but there are also same words but differ in meaning on each languages like PAGDAGAN in our sample which is "run" in Bisaya. In Tagalog PAGDAGAN is "the act of putting a heavy weight on something" e.g. "PAGDAGAN ko doon" is "PLACED my WEIGHT/PLACED my BODY there".

Ken is bisaya/cebuano which is located in the mid (Visayas) and the south (Mindanao) of the philippines (so widely spoken there). Tagalog is the national language, at school he has to learn Tagalog and english (as the second national langu;age) so he can speak 3 languages. Tagalog is spoken in Manilla the capital in the north (the island of Luzon) and spread to be national language. So he chose to speak his native language

The reason why you are confused when you put the "Tagalog" subtitle is that Ken or Felip is speaking "Bisaya". There are 80+ languages spoken here in the Philippines but what is known to the world is "Tagalog Only" but our official language is "Filipino". That's why us Tagalog speaking Filipino cannot also understand what Ken is saying without the subtitles.
@MirelaReacts
@MirelaReacts 3 года назад
I was indeed confused because, even though I don't really understand what the words mean, I can connect the sounds to the words and that's how I learn to sing foreign songs. But with this one I couldn't follow the subtitles and got frustrated 😭 So in the end the subtitles were really the translation of what he was saying and not the lyrics itself. Thank you so much for explaining 🙏
