Felix Cavaliere, formerly of the Rascals®, brings a huge catalog of fun hits including Good Lovin', Groovin', People Got To Be Free, and many more to any concert that includes him!
The Young Rascals...The Rascals...Felix Cavaliere and compay...just the greatest, grooviest tunes, and blue-eyed (probably Italian brown eyes) Felix has still got it. This medley was just fine, funky and fun! "People Gotta Be Free".

You CAN go back, I do every day! Just put on good headphones & listen to the Rascals or the Band, the ABB, the Dead, James Gang or Crosby Stills, Nash & Young. As a matter of fact I’m gonna go listen to the Rascal’s album Grooving, peace out ☮️
We Love You Felix,,,,,Thanks You Thank You For GROOVIN with us,,,soundtrack for our lives on this Earth,,,,,Always found hope ,rest and peace in GROOVIN,,,,,
Absolutely such a beautiful song, brings back alot of memories. Love it when singers sing and musicians actually play their play their respective instruments- None of this fake stuff Great Performance!!!!!
We saw The Rascals at Mohegan Sun last Friday night. The original four rocked out for 2 hours to the blue eyed soul sounds of the 60's. In the middle of the British invasion they survived with their Groovin', Good Lovin', I've been lonely too long and many others that brought us back to our youth for a while. "How can I be sure" fit the moment perfectly. I sent the 45 rpm record to my then girlfriend. Now she has been my wife for the last 42 years. Thank you Rascals!!!!
The band that started it all for me. The grooves, the vocal harmonies, the melodies, These cats from New Jersey had it all. As a kid a got the chance to see them on the Ed Sullivan show, which on the east coast where I lived aired on Sunday nights at 8:00pm. How fortunate to still have these guys around making great music, and rekindling great old memories for those of us that loved them in the mid 1960's and we still do today. There's so substitute for great music. Thanks Rascals!
Felix, i am from Austria. Getting 70 years young this year. I was living in Paris when i bought the LP. Beeing a student with little money in my pocket it was 1 LP per month. The spirit i felt then is still alive today 50 years after. God bless you. Greetings from Austria Walter
I am a 72 year old female and I was a flower child back then and I love this song!! It takes me back and I sure wish that there was time travel! Back I'd go to the good old days!
@@openyoureyes4799 I remember the late 60’s as as a young child 7,8,9 years old and remember going to two funerals for lost family members to the Vietnam war, assassinations of public figures, riots going on in just about every city, student walk outs. I know listening to music can bring back good and bad feelings and thank god we have our own opinions of the “good old days”.
In my mid 70s now and this is a piece of magic melody of my youth and a reminder of some wonderful people who I also knew well & how they surrounded some of my world back then. Some have left us, and like some of those days back then, they will always be loved and never forgotten. You Tube,I thank you.
I'm 65 n remember these songs like it was yesterday. They'll always be in my heart and soul. Love the way this guy sings them. There aren't many great entertainers like F
This is one of those rare occasions when a song is better than the original recording version made by the artist. I love, love, love this song as it never fails to lift my spirit! Felix Cavaliere's voice is still extraordinary and the gorgeous, harmonies are a joy. This band is the epitome of class. And the guitar solo by Jerry Riggs is blistering...jazzy, soulful and tinged with harder edge at the same time. This is a masterclass in how the greats do it!
I thought what I experienced 50 years ago in Hawaii with The Young Rascals was "just my imagination." Hearing Felix Cavalieri sing Groovin' makes my outlook better (despite covid-19).
Fantastic Magic moments relived lisseni g to these Wonderful Songs and Singers .They know what there doing Reliving Love And youthful Joy Great groovin forever
I was only 20:yrs back in the day using a fake ID to get into clubs, I recall those hot nights groovin on the dance floor .. .. groovin , reelin , man where did all those years go. If only I’d known, I’d have relished them better. But the memories are sweet too. Now we have covid19 killing us off . Why is generation so fucking stupid? Maybe they dont have our great music?
When I hear this song,I Remember when my EX- Wife and I,we're Soo Much In Love with One Another. There are times when I really Miss that ERA in my Life.!!
First time I ever heard this song, I was in the EM club in Pearl Harbor. We had just flown in to pick up a carrier headed for Viet Nam. Fabulous - what a great 4 days!
I actually heard Felix/Rascals ..in July 19 2019.. he played at the Ocean Grove Auditorium in Ocean Grove NJ.. it was my 60th B Day treat to myself.. I would have to say.. I obtained my Rascals Greatest Hits CD from my late sister.. she passed in 2008.. whenever.. I play this CD it brings back all of the 'sister memories' of her and with her.. she was the 1st person who took me to Ocean Grove NJ.. a wonderful small.. no fuss.. Jersey shore town.. which sadly was the weekend prior to 911.. Sept 2001. So I felt this was her way of saying Happy Birthday..to me..
Didn't realize at first but the band backing up Felix is Orleans. Lance Hoppen on bass and the late great Orleans lead vocalist Larry Hoppen on keys in the background. Felix still sounds great. His appreciation and love of R&B music is appreciated!
Dang! he sounds just as good as back in the day when my older Brothers would play this song on the big stereophonic in our living room as we did our Saturday morning chores! Wheeew...almost heartbreaking memories! Thanx!
Outstanding , tasteful guitar work.Savvy, never overplays. It's not just the ancient looking Strat. Lace Sensor pick-ups ? Thumbs up. Rock solid drummer, excellently mixed. This seamless medley is the result of a well rehearsed, disciplined and directed on the spot, professional band. You the man Felix. There is a difference, and many appreciate it.
This was my high school song back in the 60's. It takes me back and my mind wonders of all the fun I had. The best song ever. For ever and ever young ❤
I was there. Hard to believe these guys -- and Sly & the Family Stone -- played high schools! "Life would be ecstasy... you and me and Leslie groovin'..."
They played at Whittier HS (CA) during my senior year of ‘67. Felt like I was in my old nyc neighborhood (The Heights) but was actually the ‘Rican there!
Every Sun. in the 60's my dad would take us for a drive in the car just to see the scenery. We would turn on WDRC which was a Top 40 station at the time but is not a station any more and they would play this song. That was my idea of Groovin'. Dad passed in 2017 but I still remember those simpler times and this song. When I told Felix about it on his web site, he said it was a nice memory of my dad and his song. That just made my day!
My best friend and I cut school in 1967 to go to the San Francisco Airport to see the Young Rascals fly in. Not surprising - Felix gets more awesome with time.
You know...it's truly an honor to grow up listening to such artists who composed such amazing songs. This music will live forever and you will never tire of. Thanks Felix and company for the memories.
@@bradleyking1353/ it's all good...my buddy had a 57 chev 427 and when he romped on it from standing start, I swear it about through you out the back window...this song written in 1967...screaming GTOs, cameros, vettes, mustangs, firebirds, road runners, cudas and gas was only $0.33 a gallon...bring it back...
I met this man and the rest of the group (Rascals) when I was 12 years old. My mother took me and my best friend. She sat in the balcony while we ran around.
Awesome Vibe! Loved as a kid and still do. When this came out long ago, I thought things was headed upward, and America still hasn't gotten things right. Thank God for the real music and real musicians. We can escape momentarily.
This song takes me back to my teenage years in the 70’s! Aww,” precious memz!” Hanging with mis Primas and primos in front of the liquor store and listening to this song and more
@@markgillespie7591 Hi Mark, Thank you for letting me know!:) Finally the hunt to find out who he is, is over! I found this link on the web from the gig they played in 2008, which is where this vid is from. www.orleansonline.com/RPMWeston.html as I wrote previously, I love, love, love this song as it never fails to lift my spirit! Felix Cavaliere's voice is still extraordinary and the gorgeous harmonies are a joy. This band is the epitome of class. Jerry Rigg's guitar solo is blistering...jazzy, soulful and tinged with harder edge at the same time. Just effortless playing isn't it. Thank you again.
Felix has a gig, and it doesn't get much better than that. I'm 68 and get hired to sing and play guitar. I saw Jimi Hendrix, George Benson and Deep Purple that same year, but I never got into drugs. In 1970, I had a 1964 Fender Stratocaster, a 50 watt Marshall with an 8x10 cabinet, with a Crybaby and effects. The Young Rascals were one of the best song-writing bands for any generation. I'm still groovin'.
I heard this musical masterpiece over & over...and I still want to keep listening. It's certainly a perfect combination of "out of this world" Felix VOICE with all his band. Keep Rocking guys!
I remember back in ‘67 or so, my brother-in law telling me one day that he got into an altercation w/ one of the Young Rascals here in NYC. His name was Felix something he said. It turned out to be Felix Cavaliere. That’s how out of curiosity I started listening to his group & im glad I did.
