Born of LK Siama and Melody Lalhunmawii, Felix Lalruatsanga is the eldest of four brothers.
Surprisingly, Felix did not show much specific interest in football during his childhood.
Just like other mizo boys, he did participate in local age-classified football tournaments as he developed fondness for sports in general.
He learned from such local tournaments that young players with talent and promise were chosen for trials for an opportunity to be coached at football academies in the big cities. So, at a tender age of 12, he decided to wholly invest himself in football.
From that point on, he focused solely on football and played competitively at the local tournaments to make an impression on experienced football scouts.
However, the road was not as easy as he thought. There were no immediate opportunities in which he could face trials for selections to coaching at football academies. This nevertheless did not hold him back from his dreams.
As he had now decided football for his career, he worked on his personal skills even as he had not yet landed a spot at the big academies.
“When it is time to practice, I dress up, go to my bedroom, read the Bible and pray. Prayer is a priority, and I pray before every match. I do this because I am certain that whatever knowledge and talent I have in football are gifts from God and answers to my prayers.
Going forward, I aspire to become a professional footballer. For some years now I have not been able to devote too much time to football due to my household responsibilities. Now that my brothers have also grown up, I feel I’m now ready to work seriously towards my goal to professionalism.
