For me, the opposite happened. I, at 16 years old, was still in my first year of high school, and this guy, during the first few weeks, was always very talkative and friendly to me, always greeting me when I entered class and sat next to me. One day, in the middle of a conversation about his favorite songs, he said that he thought I was beautiful. I laughed at first, because it was the first time someone had complimented my appearance and to me, it was just a joke. After that he seemed very serious, and I really understood that he was trying to be gallant to me. I felt very uncomfortable. I've always liked girls and being seen as attractive by a guy rather than girls left me feeling miserable. After seeing my cold reaction, he stopped talking to me as if he had spoken on a taboo, and the following week he changed classrooms and times at school. I never saw him again.
