Fells Point restaurant owner and chef, Ashish Alfred is speaking out about the recent disturbances in the area.
“I’m a chef and I know the recipe for bread pudding, mashed potatoes, steak. I also know the recipe for disaster is a bunch of children, being allowed to drink alcohol, carry guns and not being held accountable, leads to somebody being shot and somebody dying," said Alfred.

Well, when you put up a felon to run against the incumbent, you don't leave the people with much choice. It's a vote for a corrupt moron versus a convicted felon. That leaves you no reason to vote and, if memory serves, that's why just over 21.43% of eligible voters cast a vote in the primary election.

Use to hang at Fells point on weekend nights mid to late 1970’s. Attended a few festivals during the day.! Peaceful and fun atmosphere. NEVER had issues like today. Other than a few kids or teens that lived in the community, patrons were mostly white adults! What has changed? We all know why. Born and raised in Baltimore, I eventually retired and left. The city has been going downhill for decades. We all know why. White flight to the suburbs happened for a reason.

Well said Chef! FP is a special place, it was saved by good people from being demolished to bring a highway through to down town back in the early 80's. It is an area of great historical significance. It needs to be treated with respect. It's residents deserve to be treated with respect. The restaurateurs and business owners deserve better than this. Activity like this is the fast track to the end of FP, the end of a handful of areas that a sane person would actually want to live in.

That's a good start. However, we lived in Fells Point for two years, just moved a while ago, in fact, but the minors need to be ticketed and then arrested if they don't leave. When barriers were put up, most teens just congregated around them and continued to flout the law. We were there we saw that.
