Here's some truth....I've had a CDL since 1994 and getting home on the exact date Never happens with most companies out there....trust me on that...it's just the nature of the business... With that said, you're making great money...don't trust what people are saying on RU-vid, must of it is hype....you got a good thing going at Trans Am. Stay strong and doing the right thing...God will keep rewarding you👍 be safe driver!
As a truck driver with several years of experience now i can tell you nothing under 2k a week is good money, i personal knowing what i know now would not do it for less. 2500 a week is great money, you gotta think if your working 70 hours a week, 2k a week is only like 20 bucks a hour when you break it down. you either deal with crap pay or demand more, granted im not a felon a d have a clean record all the way around, so that helps getting good jobs but still.
I start orientation next Monday. Your videos played a big part in me applying for transam. I have a history and tickets on my record. They are taking a chance on me and I’m grateful. Continued success bro
Hi Bro, how are you? I hope good. Hollar anytime, if you got a question, you are probably already in your truck, and you are probably already realizing that it ain't too hard, just remember to be safe and take care of yourself and your license, you will always have a job with your CDL.
I’m a felon, also. The most important thing you talked about is being Humble. That is the single most important thing in this game. Everything as far as safety, driving, awareness, etc., follows. With that mindset alone, you’re going to be good. Keep it up. Head up…Chest out!
You are a very honest and humble man. It takes guts to answer the question "what were your felonies?" I wish you the best while you are on this trucking journey. Stay safe!
That’s what I’m talking about. Keep up the good work bro. You give me hope. Thanks for your vid. I just got my cdl yesterday and I’m an ex knuckle head. Right on.
As with any job it's all in what you put into it. You may not get everything back that you put in, but you got to deal with your conscious when you don't give 100% to whatever you do. Glad to see you getting that second chance and holding your head high brother. Been in that boat myself once or twice.
Felonies or not everyone should stay humble. Switching jobs is not an easy thing to do. Relearning and everything is a nightmare, and the grass is not always greener on the other side. I made decisions out of anger and regretted them. Fortunately, in your case you took a step back and came to a realization. That's a hell of a good thing. Good luck on your journey!
One of the most honest videos on trucking I've seen. I have 21 felonies myself and start school in 10 days. This is motivational. Keep up the good work brother
Hey, thank you for the kind words. God deserves all the credit, God helps me everyday, since I been out He has helped to not do meth and to not steal and that has made a big difference in my life.
I'm proud of you sir I'm getting out here before hearing your grip heights .journey on and stay in that workout. Love and respect sir.keep in on the moat and out the sandtraps and stone cuts.
Finally somebody with positive statuses and comments about TransAM Company, bout to start with the company so like you sayd it is what it is,appreciate you brother!,be safe and keep up the hard and good works out there.
New to Your Channel but Stay on that path Brother things Will continue to work out for You. Nose down and keep on keeping On. Remember The Details of it ALL is on The boring, routine but keep Polishing Your Skills and Always Remember Iron Polish Iron. Following Your Growth, Be Safe Out there. All The Best!!!! Fan from Louisiana. 👍
Great video. I’m about to graduate from Truck Drivers Institute up in Milton Florida. I live in Pensacola. Retired from the Army. Been bartending and firefighting since I retired. Collected a couple speeding tickets and a careless driving a few years ago. This is the only company willing to hire me. Sounds like making $1000 a week or a little less isn’t bad for a recent CDL graduate with not a clear perfect driving record. I’m a subscriber now. Keep making videos
It was good to watch this video because you sound like you will make it. Stay humble, keep your head down, don't complain, and after a while you will be doing good. Don't be afraid to ask God's help, we ALL started not knowing a thing! Ps. If you got that part about keeping your truck clean, you are ok in my book. Chaplain Jim
Bro I have a felony as well, but know your worth, stand on business, you have a skill that is needed! These companies need us, facts! They need to respect us
Damn good video. Thanks for the inspiration. Just trying to wrap up this last bit of parole so I can finally start my life the way it should have been a long time ago
😀thanks bro, you can do it, you already know that parole is priority, you take care of your freedom you can take care of mostly everything else, I know how it is, personally I know how it is when you locked up and the only person who is sending money is momma because she knows ya hungry. Ya know, anyhow hollar anytime bro.
Keep it up bro… I started with Trans Am many years ago. I was out of Rockwall too. Use them as a stepping stone to a better paying company. Stay humble & you’ll be great
@@thebrownacid9027 my experience was good, nice hotel, I learned a lot during orientation, for me it was an extension of my driving school, or that is how I looked at it. As soon as I graduated from CDL school I went to Transam so I was still green, but I used that whole week as an opportunity to continue practicing. The trainers are good, Terry and Cornelius.
@@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney awesome. My goal is to get 4 months experience. Then switch to Marten Transport. To be local and home everyday. I got a wife and kids.
I start wed in Tampa 3 day orientation hopefully it works out for me.....warning word from a couple buddy's that work their say stay away from lease purchase. U will be in the hole if u take home time and they have 🎈 payments
The main reason I decided to not go lease when I first started is because I did not know nothing about trucking, I did not even know the price of diesel, to be honest I couldn't have even given an accurate price on gas, because I was fresh out, I did not know how many miles I could drive a day, I did not know how it feels after driving 11 hours a day, back to back for multiple days, I knew that there was a lot that I did not know so I decided to first get behind the wheel and just learn how to run the truck, learn how to adjust to living in a truck and I wanted to learn all that stuff without all that extra stuff to worry about, I embraced the opportunity as a learning experience, and it has been a very good learning experience. One of the main things I learned is that Transam knows exactly what they are doing, they are slick, just keeping it real but you know what, I believe that they ain't no different from these other companies, yes, for real, I am so thankful to Transam for putting me in the truck when these other companies couldn't look past my background, so for that, I will forever be grateful to Transam for the chance, shoot and for the money because once again I will say that I have never made this kinda money prior to working for them. Transam is a very good place to start and learn how trucking goes and to make a pretty good paycheck too. For real.
@@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney aye bro that's real and gain all the experience you can..and round this time of the year u will be dealing with so prepare for that...but im glad transam is working out for you cause all I hear is bad stuff about transam and im taking the chance to not believe all the b.s because with every company theirs always issues..i only have 5 months experience so I know were ur coming from
You got it bro. If you got your CDL and if you can pass the range they test you on at orientation, you are fully capable of running loads. When you get your truck just take it easy and be cautious.
They told me they allow riders at $18 month. I would like to have my daughter to ride with me sometimes. My husband as well. I have good mvr and background. I was more nervous about a ridealong trainer. Yes be nice to have a trainer but I enjoy being alone. Nervous but easier
They do have a ride policy, for sure they do, the rider has to be atleast 10 years old though. Lots of people say they wouldn't mind a trainer, that's a good mindset because it shows that your willing to learn, it also says that you believe you have more to learn, that's good, hold onto that type of attitude. With that being said, if you can safely drive the truck, you can start running loads, just take it easy and remember to be safe, pay attention, stay aware of the condition of your equipment, get your rest and if you feel you are driving and you feeling sleepy, pull over and set your alarm clock and let yourself take an hour or two nap, just do whatever you gotta do to be safe. If you can drive the truck you can run the loads, as something new comes up, you'll figure it out and before long you will be fully in the swing of things. If you can master the training range, you can run those loads. Peace to you and your family. :)
Dont let any company think they can walk all over you. Its why stuff never changes. Your background dont matter you did your time and paid for whatever crime you did no one has the right to take advantage of you or anyone else dont think that your obligated to put up with nonsense. Theres tons of jobs out there and they know it.
I probably should have started my trucking career with Trans Am. I have no record and my driver’s license is pretty clean. I only went with them because they didn’t put you in a truck for weeks with a trainer. Things were ok until they messed up on my paycheck. The way treated me pissed me off. My refrigerator was empty and they refused to pay me what I was owed. I finished my jobs, cleaned out the truck and returned it to Missouri I hope to get back out there soon. I’m staying with my dad (he’s financially secure) but I hope to drive again soon. I miss it. I loved the open road. Oh…. I HATE Trans Am always did relays. RELAYS SUCK!!!
Yep, waiting on a load at a truck stop is not cool. They say it will be there but it seems like it always shows up when you are starting to get sleepy.
TransAm needs good drivers desperately, so they aren't going to fire you over something like that. Good drivers can get away with quite a bit compared to workers in most other positions at companies. If you screw up something like accidents, late for appointments, violations, etc. then you are subject to dismissal. Taking a break for a day...nah, they are not going to sweat a good driver about that.
I just caught a misdemeanor last year and I am struggling to find a job just found a local gravel job want to go OTR but I have gaps in employment history my arrest conviction and no experience and I cannot find anyone to work with me. I congratulate you
Just try to make your applications as complete and as accurate as possible, somebody will hire you. I know what your talking about, for sure. Keep trying bro.
Cool bro, Transam helped me a lot. It ain't all pretty but it ain't too bad either, I say it was mostly good. I am so thankful to Transam for giving me a chance. Be safe bro 😀
@@Texas80sBabyI'm a company driver in a dedicated route. Orientation was in Rockwall TX it was cool, just watch RU-vid videos on backing techniques they teach and try to get a good understanding on how the clock for drivers work and you'll be good. Orientation is a week, they teach you how to alley dock park which you use a lot driving and you get a truck after.
@@momentofclarity4262 thanks I leave out tomorrow to start orientation in rockwall Monday what do they tell you about mountain driving and snowy conditions
Fuck Trans Scam. Those crooks tried to scam every driver they can. That was my first driving job. They will keep ripping you off because you got a record. There are plenty of companies that you can drive for brother. Check with smaller family owned companies after you get 2 yrs experience
1 hrs driving 2 hrs loading and UNLOADING add all together DONT LET COMPANYS MAKE YOU DRIVE 70 PLUS 10 UNLOADING LOADING THATS 80 HRS WORK MAKE SURE NOT TREATED LIKE A SLAVE. I START MY CLOCK AN NEVER STOP IT UNTIL IM DONE FOR THE DAY 10HRS ONLY INCLUDING FUEL
When you have a bad just just remind yourself YOU DONE MUCH MORE FOR MUCH LESS MONEY AND MUCH MORE RISK. I tell myself that every time I wanna burn my truck down 🤪 Don’t let sht get to u. Put your head down and roll out. Keep the door closed and that truck in gear. There is a learning curve. Your not gonna get at that bag right away. I been trucking since 2003. It’s not easy. But there is a lot of money in this business if you do it right. When I’m working otr I can hit 20-28k a month before expenses. I’m a owner op who runs under my own authority and haul reefer when on The road. I own my equipment. I have a heavy tow truck I run when I’m home. Almost a hobby 😂 to keep me busy. There is money there. Be patient. Learn. Most of all you need to be a mechanic. You need to pick a book up and learn about these trucks. It will pay 10 fold down the road. Keep the door closed and truck in gear. The rest will come to you with time. But most of all learn about trucks as much as you can.
Hey Bro, you sure is right about being a mechanic, and I sure did turn in to one all of a sudden, my radiator went out, on The PA turnpike, made it to a plaza, basically hitchhiked to the dealership and back, bought the radiator, and installed it on my truck at the rest area, by myself, but I knew that God was helping me, I am trying to load the videos on RU-vid now.
@@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney I’m about to begin my journey, and so I hope everything turns out ok. Be safe and keep on trucking my brother!👍👍 Make that money quick and a lot of it so you can take back time that you’ve lost doing stupid shit. It’s a hard but noble profession
@@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney Hey brother, when I was beginning my grandma application I noticed that they said it was 79% drop and hook, so that leaves 21% of loading and unloading responsibility to trans am drivers. Is the job very physical? I’m not cut out to load/unload goods all day long, and so I was hoping the job consisted of mostly drop and hook.
@@nobull772 i think that maybe you have the wrong idea about what is not a drop and hook, if your load is not a drop and hook, usually it is what is called a live load/unload, what that means is that the shipper or reciever actually loads/unloads the trailer and after that is done you leave with the same trailer A drop and hook means that you arrive at the shipper/reciever and switch trailers and go, in other words no waiting for a trailer to be loaded/unloaded Now, I think what you are concerned about is you as the driver having to load/unloaded the trailer, this is called touch frieght, Transam drivers do not load/unloaded the trailers, this is called no touch freight Shoot most of the time the warehouses they do not even allow the drivers inside the warehouse. Transam is a reefer company and most of the customers are warhouses that have freezers So no, you are not expected to unload the trailers, not woth Transam Also, lots of warehouses have what is called lumpers, lumpers are people who unload the trailer.
@@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney Holy hell, I really didn’t know😂 damn… that kind of widens my horizons a little more thank you brother! Damn that made me feel really stupid… but it’s good to know because I think there’s a terminal close to my house .
No Money is Bad Money. Stay Hungry Passionate and You'll see down the line how You'll look back and say I Accomplished Something Great! I agree with You that's Good Money anyway You cut it. Keep Grinding and Hoping as well as Sending You Much, Much Success. Be Safe. 👍
I am currently waiting in their hotel in Tampa. I got done orientation Sunday. It's weds morning (barely) still no word on my truck. I'm making either 80 bucks a day or 105 a day I honestly can't tell lol. I came here because they told me 50 cents per mile when I got here they told me I'm making 32 cents. I haven't worked in 7.5 weeks. I NEED this bitch ass company to just start getting paychecks again. I'm only staying for 3 months then I'm bouncing. ANY company that will lie to recruit you then switch it up on you when you arrive is not for me. I appreciate your honesty and your videos. Thank you. I hope you are still doing good bro, for real. Thanks again. To the newbies watching this video, reading the comments (like my dumb ass) stay the fuck from ScamsAM they lie and only want you to lease. That's MY experience with fucktards anyway.
I hate to hear that they lied to you. I would feel the same as you if I was lied to like that. Bro, I know felons who have left Transam and who have gotten other jobs, just get the experience. Jett Trucking hires felons but first you got to get some experience, many other trucking companies hire felons too, just gotta get some experience first. Hang in there, doors will open.
After about a month they just offered me a different position called the Midwest Fleet, I didn't really do anything to get the new position except not quitting, most of the people who started orientation with me had already quit by this time, so maybe it was just Transam trying to keep a driver. In fact, all my class except one guy had already quit by the time I got the raise. The video includes all my paychecks, even the ones when I was making 31 cents.
Dang bro, for real man, you can't operate like that in society, you are not in prison anymore, if you keep doing stuff like that it will not end well, you know how easy it is to catch a case, for real, you need to chill out. You will find a job though, no doubt about that since you got your CDL but for a felon, Transam is a good place to be, it really is but I guess it don't do no good telling you that now. Anyhow, Western Express will take you, K&B will take you if you got 5 months experience, there are many other opportunities out there too, you will find a job, it may not be with a mega-carrier but you will find a job. Keep looking, keep calling, keep submitting applications. Oh yeah, hey, look up Kold Transportation too, they are willing to work with recent felons too. But do you see and understand now a little better exactly why some companies have policies about felons? They don't want situations occurring on their dime like the one you described. Anyhow, keep looking, your gonna find a job
Hay bud. I've been a driver for over 30 yrs. I love it still but my friend if you aren't putting over 1000 in your pocket after taxes ect then you are being ripped off. Many companies do this to there drivers and it truly sucks. Not putting trans am down by any means but I drove for them for a few wks and quit. If you can't make 60cpm to 70 cpm then you need to look around. Just advice from one driver to another.
Yea what about no felonies just possessions but NO EXPERIENCE as well? Who the hell hires? All I got so far out of 400 apps was western and that was a shit show
Why they wouldn't pay me in 2015 at. 30per mile I suppose to have over $1000 at .30 I only got $117 , and 71, and 318 I couldn't even feed myself or level up like an apartment and I wasn't a felon fresh out of school
I finally started trucking, and I see alot of tran Sam trucks at my DC. Everytime I see one I think of this video 😂 Are you still with transAm? How’s it going?
@@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney Man, I’m not doing too shabby as a company driver, but I keep on seeing owner ops, and wonder how it is in your guys’s shoes. I’m too chicken shit right now. One day.. Glad to hear things are working out for you bro. I’ll make sure to ask you for insight later on though!
Hi, if you are a company driver I don't think so but I do think they allow the lease drivers to have a dog. Call a recruiter and they will be able to give you a definite answer. I did see a Transam driver with a dog in his truck, once.
I’m starting trans am Monday. I just got outta prison too and am still on paper and trans am is the only company that would take a chance on me. I was wondering if I could reach out to ya to ask a couple questions
Hey bro. Transam pays every week, the end of their work week ends on Thursdays at midnight, so your paycheck will have all the miles you have driven from Friday to the next Thursday, midnight, they pay on Fridays, you can get your money either direct deposit or you can have them send it to your EFS card, the EFS card is the fuel card you use with them but it is also exactly like an ATM card too
Miles are misconception, look at your hours spent working and gross pay, learn to do the numbers. Get the numbers game on point so you know where you stand, and learn where you wanna go! Keep trucking! Stay your butt out of the system
Yo Kelley did you have to wait 5-7 years after your last conviction to get hired?im hearing most companies won’t hire until 5,7,and 19 years after last felony
My last felony conviction was in 20 I started with Transam in 21 Different companies have different policies Some companies don't have any policy, if you have a Class-A is the only thing some companies care about It will be harder with felonies but you already know that. Bro, if you get your CDL you will get a job. Transam, Western Express and Jett Trucking are three companies that hire recent felons
Transam and Western Express do not require experience Jett Trucking requires...not sure how much exactly but I have a friend who switched to Jett from Transam when he barely had 3 months experience
Yes Bro, it cost 19 dollars a month, the rider has to be at least 10 years of age and before they can ride you just get it set up with your dispatch or ya know the office people.
It is a urine test bro, atleast it was last year in May, make sure, double sure you are clean before you go to orientation because you do not want them reporting you to the clearinghouse. For real, for real, lots of guys piss dirty and there aint no reason for that, it's just a urine test, you don't want go through the return-to-work process with the FMCSA and the SAP program, just wait and get clean. Anyhow, peace bro, I wish you and you're family success!!
2100 to 2700 Every week was different but somewhere in that range normally, I was on the midwest fleet, picking up at the slaughterhouses in Kansas and then going east
Yes, felonies and misdemeanors, I have a very long record of being a dope-fiend criminal, been to prison 6 times, been in and out of jail, chasing a dope sack Last felony was in 2020 I started with Transam in 2021
Nope, I was a company driver. I talk more about it in other videos. I was not lease and I would advise you to be cautious when considering lease. Don't fall for those one-liners, "either you a boss or you aint" or "you'll be your own boss" Anyhow, hollar anytime
@@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney OK. I didn't figure you(or anyone for that matter) could make that kind of money @ Transam based on what they pay,and how slow their trucks are.
