Thank you so much. I just found your videos today. I was reading the comments and read that those people who are obviously more experienced are asking you to shorten your videos. Well, I will never tell you what to do but I think your video lengths are just right. I'd hate to see you make your videos shorter. I just started getting into fashion design/drawing etc. I have quilted for years and recently became interested in making/designing clothes. For those who know what they are doing and are more experienced, they are able to skip to the end of your videos, but for beginners like me, I SO APPRECIATE that you take the time to go over each detail. I have been searching for weeks for someone like you. Most people who do these types of videos go through the material so quickly that I cannot keep up and I am left confused. I also love your sense of humor. Your videos are invaluable to those like me who do not have an opportunity to attend fashion design school or purchase expensive courses. Again thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge and taking your time to explain things so thoroughly. I am so grateful.

It was a bit of a struggle for a while, trying to find the right balance of being thorough but not too long-winded. I pay attention to what my viewers say though, as long as they're not rude, but I have far more people tell me they appreciate how detailed I get. I find that my "deep-dive" approach is what makes me different from other youtubers. There's no point in doing what other people are already doing, right? :) Thank you for your kind message and good luck in your adventures in fashion!

yes, I think that pricey art supplies can put a lot off people from painting. Usually people are very enthusiastic when they're just starting out and just start buying everything...and it gets overwhelming... I don't think one needs that much stuff when one is just starting out...I just buy things as I go. If I'm learning to work with oil paints, I'll obviously have to buy some, but I don't need 100 of them. I'm looking forward to the dirty cheap art supplies video!:)

I'm coming back to this video to THANK YOU, Zoe! I first watched it 6 years ago and practiced like crazy then, I've always wanted to work in fashion, but it wasn't viable for me. I ended up in the film industry (trying to break in hahah) but I just got my first freelance gig to draw some fashion illustrations for existing items! OMG! I learned more in this 30 minute video than I did in entire semester of Fashion Design/Illustration! (That teacher was the worsed. I just have to say I LOVE all your tutorials/lecture videos. I am a third year art and design student in Papua New Guinea and my primary interest is in fashion. In fact let's just say I'm an aspiring fashion designer. And honestly, I totally saw things from quite the wrong perspective in terms of designing a fashion collection. Though I do simpler things right now (being self-taught my confidence only allows me to dabble in blankets/baby items and loose style kid dresses), but my first love is fashion. Sadly, it's not something I know enough about to make informed, planned decisions! I have a tough time trying to use patterns, I do my creative best when I "sew as I go" but that means I rarely do the same thing twice. WHICH SUCKS if I really like what I did! And I know I could avoid dumb mistakes that stunt my process if I had better planning. I just started attempting fashion figures and have FAILED hard. I am also a sketch artist (to a degree) so it was frustrating to say the least, I don't do full body work. You're the first thing I found on youtube and I'm SO happy to have done! You're informative and enjoyable to watch! If this video "sucked" then I know I'm in for a treat since this is the first I've seen so far lol Much

I recently got into fashion designing , and I drew 2-3 designs...my style is kinda like anime clothes but I try my best to make it look like something u would wear in real life.. and about the body , I use the technique anime artists use...and it's not the best for actually designing clothes on.. your channel is really great, I think it will be helpful for a lot of people, not just those wanting to learn fashion illustrations. I watched a few videos so far and I found them to be very helpful. I often get questions about drawing/illustrating because I post my DIY stuff (crafts etc and sometimes paintings) on my blog, but I can't help out anyone because I'm learning it myself (just took my first art course recently) so I can't explain something I don't know much about. I will recommend your channel on my blog. It is so great that you explain things about fashion industry as well because I think a lot of young people have talent to work in fashion but they might not realize it or they might have wrong ideas about the industry.

Me again. In stead of catching up online series TWD, GOT, I'm watching you. I love it. I studied fashion design after I graduated my bachelor's degree in university. The fashion courses I participated in is intensive so fashion illustration is less focused. I always have a problem with figure drawing (esp. when body twisted) and have to spend so much time in making it look right. This is perfect for my revised fundamental skills. I will practice and hopefully I can show you some days.

I paid so much for a 1 year fashion design diploma and they taught us nothing about designing and illustration, just sewing. I literally jumped out of happiness when I came across your channel. Hi Zoe, I just found your channel because I am a beginner artist and wanted to add people into my paintings.I went all the way back to this first video and just love, love, love your teaching technique. I hope to one day have the means to join your Patreon page! But for now I will continue watching your RU-vid Channel. I immediately found your instagram page and was saddened to see the video about your husband. I hope things are getting better for him.
