10 days into our trip, while pumping up our tyres our battery dies. Upon further inspection, we cooked our alternator on the Bridle Track, on the Root Hog Fire Trail. Watch our struggle as we fix our car in a caravan park, during the Bathurst 1000 races.

How do you get the belt off please?

14mm on the tensioner and hold it to the right. You will want some leverage so a long ratchet or spanner. You'll see the pully move and the belt loosen.

Factory Toyota alternator will put out only 13.3-13.5v as it's a temp controlled alternator. Do the diode trick for the fuse and you'll see 14.4v

Thanks Kon, the positive terminal is called 'PROJECTA Battery Terminal Fused Positive'
