I got attacked by a male one today. I had no idea I was near their nesting area. I didn't know the females looked like that. She's so cute! 😍💖

Beak looks the same to me from male to female. If you didn't know you would think they are entirely different species though.

The females flock together during migration. I have about 20 females in my backyard feeder currently with not a male in sight. I get them every year like clockwork. They seem to love Lyric waste free bird mix.

Thanks for this! I have a female Redwing who shows up at my feeders several times a day and was at a loss as to who she was. We get loads of the males, but I have only rarely seen the females in the wild and never up close. You helped solve a mystery, lol.

I can not stand those squawing redwing blackbirds. They are the most annoying unpleaseant bird s to be around. All they do is attack other birds constantly. Avoid trhem at all cost!!!

I really like the male with its yellow and red wings and his beautiful song, it is a species that we also have, there are some couples that currently niche. Congratulations for this video. 👍

Very nice audio! And she sounds so different from the males. I hardly ever see the females - I'm probably distracted by the flamboyant males.
