This video isn't really true. They going off of RU-vid vocal coaches. Celine Dion consistency with being free on her whole entire belting range is so clear yet they said D5/eb5.... Like in what world
@@starlight0002 I don't know but I can think of f#5s from when she was singing with miss franklin at the divas event literally the resonance, power and ease and freedom... Like how can you look past that. She adds distortion when she wants but for the most part she has complete mastery of her enitire range
@@starlight0002 Eb5 is dead on her passagio... bUt again the whole support nonsense is illiteracy...No air , no singing..Everyone is using air ... What they should talk about Is Tessitura... And they must clarify if it is BELT OR MIX...
@@graysang5386 Most of Celine's singing above E5 are not belts they are mixed notes. All the singers here mostly do not have even a C5 belt.. they are all in mix. Celine/ Whitney/ Patti and Mariah were the few that belted up to Eb5 and above. A lot of the singers are in mix...at B4/c5
@@diversisanimaliaformis4256 If support is "breath" support then every female on this video was "supporting". No air no voice. While you breath you are basically singing ^^
@@glambert4ever163 it’s how you control (your body) the airflow also it consists of projecting a sound with the least amount of tension (jaw neck tongue) basically a free and healthy sound
@@wildnfearless9840 That makes no sense, you either know how to support or not. If you know how to use support, you can support every note that you sing (but supporting is pointless if you use falsetto, whistles or sing with a breathy tone on purpose). You support with your abdomen, not with your throat. You support with your abdominal muscles (that control the movements of your diaphragm, as the diaphragm is not an autonomous muscle) and you add a pitch with your vocal folds. It is already either supported or not before the air even reaches your throat, and, thus, before you even add a pitch to it.)
@@diversisanimaliaformis4256 I think in the context of RU-vid videos, they also use it to mean when a singer is singing with minimal tension while engaging the muscles you mentioned. I don’t know about anyone else, but as I go higher, I’ll still breathe into the proper area, engaging the right muscles, but I can’t completely keep tension out
I would say that Tori's support goes from C3-F#5-Bb6 And Celines is from D3-Eb5 (I'm not that aware of her upper register) Both have the ability to go a little lower and both can go much higher but that is their consistent range without tension or unwanted chestiness.
@@Roguenight863 ow yeah i thought the same but anyway whistling puts pressure in vocal chords and it really can’t be supported ☺️ and in Tori’s case her official supported range is Eb3-Eb5
I have seen a much better video that showcases the true supported ranges of the singers. Mariah has supported G5s, Celine has supported Eb3s, a D3, F5s, an F#5 and C#6/D6 in headvoice, Whitney has supported E3s, G5s and C#6 in headvoice. This video took the trinity down with no obvious reason. And Celine's D5 is arguably the best D5 to ever be heard.
The whole premise of supported belt is nonsense . Support us just breath management and breath management techniques.. Whitney has the best breath management amongst the trinity with the way she uses her duaphragm / inter coastal Muscles and the general engagement on the notes. They are all singing with top notch breath management techniques
"Supported range" is such a weird term. No one in vocal pedagogy would use that, not only that it's not an existing term, the idea behind it makes basically no sense. Who made that video? 🤷♀️
It is a RU-vid invention and the people who use it are so illiterate about vocal pedagogy it is sad and they jump into Arguments and discredit singers who actually have the best breath management techniques.. when I see these clueless kids with comments like , oh no support past D5 or no resonance past C5 , you know thé game is up, illiteracy is in
Of course this is not educational lmaoo is based on kpop analysis, specially when they put Celine only with E5 when she has supported G#5 and up i think.
Beyoncé’s consistently “supported” range is actually: B2-F#5-D6 also, that A5 at 5:27 did not sound “supported” she sound like she was pushing the hell out of that note, it did not sound “supported” to me idk lol.
@@asiastraineddogwillleaveyou she has more “supported” B2s & F#5s than forced or strained and she definitely “supports” about 95% of her F5s which is why F5 is her money note. why would her money note be something that she can’t consistently “support?” now that wouldn’t make sense, would it?
@@asiastraineddogwillleaveyou Beyoncé is not belting any note past C5. She is using M2 to achieve a belt sound. You guys call it the mix register. A belt is a chest shout! The only singers belting here are Céline/ Whitney/ Patti and Mariah. The rest are using the sane mechanism used to produce head register for their notes
Until now, I am still confused what is supported singing. Last time I rewatch Morissette performance of Rise Up (the one that got deleted) in a RU-vid channel. As I was browsing in the comment section, some people were like "hEr n0tEs aRe n0t suPpoRtEd" like what the hell?! I don't really know what supported singing is, but that person needs to have his ears checked. 🤦🏿♂️
@@Roguenight863 My goodness, your logic is really absurd…if it was that easy as you say, every expert would agree with you and the question would be solved doubtlessly…come on…think again!
@@Roguenight863I believe tone is also objective because it is achieved through technique... timbre isn't. Certain sounds we consider tone comes from certain things singers do, its not always result of free low constriction singing.
@@Mohamedmifxal I suppose in tone is objective in some sense. but preference of tone is subjective. For instance some prefer Whitney over Mariah and vice versa. But I understand what you mean.
@@aaronnewman7573 They are all crazy. Infact Whitney /Patti are the few that actually belt .thE REST ARE IN MIX FROM c5 , they are not.. belts..Belt uses M1 vibratory mechanism, Most singers here are using M2 which is mix and it is similar to the mechanism used fro head voice...
@Lara The Ring Fabian oh? With respect, your comment makes me doubt you understand what "supported singing" is. One may examine who has the greatest range executed consistently, but not whether or not Fabian "lacks supports in her lower range." There is no such lack.
How come MORISSETTE was not there! you know how Amazing She is when you talk about supporting Vocal range! Her vibrato, the Clarity and how Beautiful Her Tone is!
Everyone can go a bit lower and higher by not letting their vocal cords fully close. ..and without fully closed vocal cords much more air is passing through, hence, it's, depending on your abdominal muscle tension, either not or not efficiently supported... (But range (whether it's the true or the functional range) is not directly linked with support anyway. You do not automatically support by singing with closed vocal cords, support is an "active action" that it p.r.n. carried out with the internal intercostals, the external obligues and the transverse abdominals)
I don't know what korean singer doing in the video they aren't international singers at all.. if you want to put others in the video make sure all around the world..
Koreans are not international? Have you heard of BTS? The largest fanbase on Earth! So Hyang? One of the best singers to exist! Lol get your facts right before you spew lies and hate!
