I would like to mention that embarrassment regarding sexual relations with your spouse should be discouraged. Allah created you one for the other and there is nothing shameful in being married, bearing children, or playing with one another joyfully as Allah allows.
The Striving Muslimah -- Illustrated Videos by Shawana A. Aziz thank you soooo much my dear sister I have always had many questions which i was too embarrassed to ask which you have answered May Allah SWAT reward you for your work Ameen Jazakkallah Alfa Khair sister Shawana
MashaAllah TabarakaAllah Sister. May Allah SWT reward you for your efforts. I only recently came across your channel and immediately subscribed. We definitely need sisters like you who have studied the Deen in detail and now educate many of us through these very creative and clear videos. Amazing. You are educating sisters on intimate details of fiqh that is not accessible to many for multiple reasons. Perhaps the main reason being that such lessons are not taught to women in communities. Or there may be a course available somewhere but the woman struggles to access it due to a busy lifestyle or whatever it may be. But now your videos are here, it is a GREAT asset to the Ummah. This is Sadaqatun Jaariyah for you and Allah will reward you for it immensely InshaAllah! Such an inspiration! Love, Sister Ahlam
Jazak Allah Khair! ...Yes, the whole purpose of making these videos is to make the information available to sisters in an interesting manner. Barak Allahu Feeki for the precious Dua.Ameen! love to you too...:)
Starting with your religion, that was the first thing you did wrong in your life, specially if you didn't question it and follow it fully blind... this is not meant to upset nobody, but you didn't even studied another religion to question yours
LOOOOOL. That got me too! xD Also, I dont understand what its all about anyway- people usually shower in the mornings and nobody thinks anything of it- so why would it be embarrassing or odd..? Weird.
In our indo pak culture and joint family system, the family members, gents, mother and sister in laws etc... Make you feel strange and lusty if they suspect. Even to the extent of getting angry and at times jealous...!!! Sometimes leading to fights with the feeling that she has taken our son away from us (stupid though). .. I think the lady in the video is right keeping that culture in mind.
I don't think that it makes any easier for some women (at least not for me) to let the hair tied up or braided while doing Ghusl, because once my hair gets wet, I have to redo all my hair anyway. How can this help then? Isn't there any easier way to do it...especially when you are obliged to do Ghusl several times over a short period of time? I can imagine that it is especially not easy when you have "difficult" hair to cope with! Thanks for any answers!
If you have tight braids then you can leave them in as it is easier than completely removing them. If you want to undo it, you can. But it is also find to leave them in for women. I know for me, it's much easier to leave them in especially if I have my hair in a protective style
I don’t think i can ever do a quick ghusl unfortunately. My hair is super curly and high maintenance, no exaggeration when i say it takes me 3 hours to wash and style it. This is very difficult for me.
Assalamualaikum..seriously i use to clean my body vigourously after menstruation..i thought it is necessary..even my mom told so..thanks for this video..love u sister
sis I was desperately waiting for your response abt the hair strand part ..! M glad tht u answered it in so much of detail ..jazakAllah Khair shukran :) :*
jazakallah khair..i had so much wrong concepts before.plz do share such videos..there is lot misconception and thanks tk these video.they are helping a lot clear out our doubts.may allah bless us...
assalamu aleykum warahmatulahi wabarakatu i would love to be clarified on washing one's genitals with soap or perfume as itz stated in the video that its makruh to only wash with water. this is after finding out that scented soaps n perfumes cause genital infections due to the chemical present in them.I would be glad to be told more about it as my ghusl is nearing and i have a doubt on that issue. thank you
Genitals. Similarly, spraying perfume near private areas can also result in skin dryness. For women, fragrances can “potentially irritate the vagina and cause inflammation, itchiness, and pain,” according to Insider Health.
I don't think it's wise to put perfume on the lady bits It can cause infections etc. Warm water should be fine & if you have unusual strong odors - please visit the doctor as there may be underlying conditions The lady parts are made to balance it's pH & cleanse itself so warm water is fine ladies
AssalamuAlaikum, I'm wondering (in case if I only have perfume) what type of perfume do you mean in this video? Like the (regular) spray (that may be made of alcohol) is alright to use for ghusl?? That might cause skin inflammation/irritation.
@Mandy Jamil Barak Allahu feeki sister for this very precious dua - Ameen! here's a link to an atricle which will explain about cutting hair - www.blog.qsep.com/?p=3335
imam Tiermidie narrates that Umm Salama to the Prophet sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam asked: " I braid my hair , how should I do c my ghusl , should I disconnect my braids? " "No," replied the Prophet sallallahu' alaihi wa sallam , "It is enough to pour over it water three times"
Your videos are amazing mashallah and very beneficial Can u please make a video talking about hair and if allowed to cut it. I make dua that you reach the highest level in paradise without any reckoning ameen. :)
some shampoos and soaps contain glycerin and other chemicals which contain pork by products and other non zabiyah animal products. Its best if you are using soaps or shampoos use a 100% non GMO Organic VEGETABLE based ingredient products. ( for the main purpose of doing Ghusl is to be in a pure state.)
As-sallama Aliekum. I never used musk or perfume, I somehow told myself it was unnecessary. How exactly is it done? Do I need to spray it on my washing cloth then rub it on myself...Thank you
My mother and grandmother said that, "We need to wear some cloth during gushl". Is it compulsory?? generally I don't wear anything during gushl. In that case, can I pray salat after gushl?
Zooney Looney If you dont have musk perfume or any perfume which is safe for sensitive areas, dont use perfume - soap which serves the purpose of removing odor should be sufficient in this case.

Assalamu alaikum. Please tell me about the ettiqute of clothing while performing ghusl. Is it necessary to cover myself while performing ghusl? if yes, then how much do i need to cover? and is there any ettiqute while changing clothes?
I never knew if perfume is recommended even if soap is available. Also, I have some reservations with the perfume since it contains alcohol and the skin down there is sensitive and can lead to irritation and dryness when rubbed with perfume.
What did she mean with perfume? Is it like any perfume and what if it has alcohol in it? I have musk at home buth it is a roller one. Not a spray... should I perfume while doing ghusl or after...
am doing ghusul the way u have demonstrated alhamdulilah...but one point is that in many of pictorial videos it is said pour water fest to left then to right of body..do rubbing and pour water from.your head down...but I am.pouring it from.the neck..and I have made some specific prayers like this...is it valid??plz tell me. Or I need to do again ”
Aswk sister ..I wanted to know ..wen v dont undo our braids. ..then should the entire plat be soaked in mug full of water...or jus throwing three handful of water on the head thrice is sufficient
i have a question, anyone kindly educate me. Must i pour water from my head all over my body or is it sufficient if i wash hair separately and i just bathe like normal from face down. The requirement seems for water to pass through roots of the hair, if i can just do this kneeling down or over the sink. Where i live sometimes it's difficult getting warm water and it gets cold pouring water all over from head to toe during ghusl early before prayer
Assalamu Alaikum sister, I love your videos and wish you'd make more of them. I have a problem, I have to go out early morning everyday, and find it very hard to perform gusl as wet hair under my hijab tends to give me migraine pains. I cannot even blow dry my hair as it gives me sinus pain too. I can't even take a bath at night as that means I will be missing the whole day's salah. I'm in a fix, any suggestions? :(
+Zohra Safi Because I heve got an importante message to share :) You will listen to me Only if you put your proud a side, I was born a christian, bur I found the truth of the very nature, the truth that includes me and you as one..... budhism is not considered a religion ( the budda was in fact a prince) and who knows well hinduísm, knows that they are not politheist, they havê no god, and both speak about ONLY what they experience, só they are one step ahead of both of us...... listen for example Sadhguru speaking on RU-vid and you will see
+Zohra Safi And there is more, I was here when I was searching and learning about all religions, I was born in one and they never talked about other religions, it is intresting to know what other religions have to say, because one cannot simply blindly belive what your parents teach you, you MUST search and find your own truth, When you simply belive, you do not question, so you do not know the truth, you only know what the others want you to belive and do
Dear sister undoing d braids n leaving water sprout on top?...for how long... Just thowing handful of water thrice on d head isnt it sufficient...plz answer. .. Im v confuzed....
SubhanAllahi wa bi hamdihi subhan Allahil azim Subhan Allah Alhamdullilah Allah hu akbar La illaha illalah La illaha illa anta subnaka inni kunto minaz jawalimin La hawla wala quata illa billahil azim Bismillahhirrahmanirrahim
You said it’s makhrooh if you have perfume/musk and you don’t use it but I’m actually allergic to musk even in its natural form.. is it okay if I miss this step? Shall I just use soap?

Assalamu alaikum, I just have a simple question... that shall I have to perform ghusl even if I didn't performed full janabah means shall I have to perform ghusl even if we just hugged each other..!!
What’s musk i cannot find it online ? N if tats not avail what kinda perfumes will u recommend? As some doctors say that we shouldn’t use any fragrance in our private parts it’ll lead to darker skin down there 👇🏻 m totally confused now can anyone pls tell me
What if I had a ghusl after my menstruation has ended but the next day I get brownish discharge . Do I have to repeat the ghusl or I can just clean the area and make wudhu or I can have a general shower without wetting my hair before making wudhu ???
Assalamu alaikum. You mentioned that in the past women used musk to wash their private parts and that today we are allowed to use perfume or soup. I didn't understand that. How and when in the ghusul should you do that? Should you spray some perfume on private parts or on a piece of paper and then wipe over the private parts? Or soup? And when in the process. After the ghusul is complete or at the beginning. Hope you can answer my question and jazzakallahu khayr for the work you do.
i am relatively new to Islam... and this musk thing is really weird to me. I have been told by many doctors that putting any chemicals, such as perfume, near your private parts can easily cause 1) chemical burn, 2) yeast infection, 3) bacterial infection which can lead to a UTI (urinary tract infection) which are painful. I have experienced all of those unfortunately! And I do everything I know that keeps me safe from experiencing those things again. So I really need this musk thing explained to me. I know what perfume is but what is musk???? and the video says if perfume is available and is not used then it is 'makruu'?? what is 'makruu'???? I do not want to put chemicals inside my vagina! That will cause me problems! There has got to be some important details left out here about that. I don't understand it.
+Rose Rose Assalamu Alaikum sister. Musk at the time of the Prophet (pbuh) and until recent years was obtained naturally from a gland found in male deer and was used as perfume. Today however natural musk is very expensive and nearly all musk available is synthetic, so it may cause irritation and such if you have already experienced issues with other products. The prophet (pbuh) advised women to use a cloth scented with musk and wipe their private parts with it after washing to eliminate any unpleasant odours. Makruh means disliked, but if you are prone to infections and other problems, there is no harm in using just water.
dont put the strong cheap ones like impulse and stuff. No way! maybe somethin a little lighter which is not body spray. and spray it but not directly close about 8-15 inches away is probably safe
I want to ask about musk. Is it done after everything in bath after menses completed? I know you don't have to do wudu after ghusl, but if you use musk isn't it touching private parts. Do I have to do wudu again?
im sry i didnt undertsand part 2:20. i always shower with soap and water are you saying after i do a ghusl with soap and shampoo i have to take another ghusl with all the sunnah acts. the ghusl i do is the obligatory one with just washing the whole body once and rinsing the mouth and nose. if i use soap and water do i have to do a compelete ghusl with the sunnahs such as washing the hands 3 times washing the private parts and the hans 3 times and etc. i need to know because i live in a house with alot of ppl and i cant spend alot of time in the bathroom.
kaz moto No, you dont have to redo your ghusl. It is perfectly find to take the obligatory Ghusl with soap and shampoo - just like you are doing it... ... as for what is mentioned on 2:20 is the situation when someone wants to follow the Sunnah acts of Ghusl of washing the hair by pouring water over the hair only three times; and in such a case, if she were to use shampoo, the shampoo will certainly not be washed in three pourfuls - and so, I advised her to wash with shampoo to cleanse the hair first, and then she can take the Ghusl in order to remove the ritual impurity.
dear sister l want to know that when l have janabah l take my gusl completely but my husband take only the obligatory (partial)bath after gusl when l go to sleep my husband is next to me so I wanted to know that can I pray namaz in the mornings
so if you want to use soap and shampoo you have to take a shower and then we have to take a ghusl ? Or we have to start the ghusl and when we come to the step that was showed in that there we can first take a bath and continue? ? I am confused can anyone clear my doubt please .
jazakALLAH sister for all the videos!MAY ALLAH give you highest rewards! I have a question is cleaning of nose and mouth different as when we do it for wudu? and one thing I've noticed I quickly do my wudu whereas I've seen some sisters take more time, should I take more time?sorry if I sound stupid
jazakAllah dear sister your vdos have helped and answeres a lot of my queries , may allah give you ajr for this.ameen. I have just one query what is musk? wat do we call it in English or Urdu (excuse my ignorance) and also perfumes have alcohol in them can we use those? many says you cant pray with alcoholic perfume on your clothes , don't know about it . plz if you can answer
I'm glad the videos are helpful:) - musk is english word - it may be difficult to find original musk nowadays and since its a sensitive area, you need to be more careful - as for alcohol, read this islamqa.info/en/1365
