Most feminist I know (myself included) do not judge how a person chooses to live. If you want the traditional life, go for it. If you want the opposite, go for that. If you want a housewife, take a housewife. But stop telling all of us that thats the role we should be interested in.

As a guy, I commend her for keeping her cool, being respectful, and finishing the date even though he basically said he believes women are intellectually inferior to men.

As a South African male I have to apologize for this doos!

I was thinking he might be very sensitive, intelligent, interesting . . . until he brought up his views on feminism and gender roles and capabilities. Then I realized that he is a complete idiot with views so old-fashioned and outdated that he belongs in medieval times. Women are at least as intelligent and capable as men - period! And women deserve 100% full equality with men in all aspects of life. That is what I believe wholeheartedly, and in a female partner I would seek someone who is my total equal but who complements me (as I her). It was foolish for him to disclose his views on women so blatantly on a first date, but it was necessary for her to hear these sad and pathetic opinions voiced so unequivocally - so she could stay far clear of him!

He stated what he believed and that's perfectly fine. She reacted to it and that's okay as well. Nothing wrong here. We all live in our own worlds. And things should end like this as well, they met, they disagreed and they moved on with respecting each other.

IQ has no gender bias. Intelligence is knowing the difference between wisdom and intelligence, wisdom is knowing not to point it out to your date. He is a teacher his crystalized intelligence was probably greater than hers, his mistake was not in his assessment it was a lack of wisdom in telling her, and not being able to articulate the difference between fluid and crystalized intelligence. A 200 IQ had to learn from people who did not have that high of an IQ. I wouldn't say that she reacted any better than he did. They could have learned from each other. High IQ people tend to have fewer friends, statistically the further from the mean average the harder it gets to find people at the same IQ. I would rather have friends personally, while fluid intelligence is a gift and learned, crystalized intelligence can be increased through reading. Her reaction lacked grace his statement lacked empathy neither one was great, it was unfortunate.
