Raised by a single mother as well. Not something I would want for any other child and it's not something I would praise in any way like they did in this trailer, as it has a large negative impact on children: Higher rates of poverty, dropouts, pregnancy, mental health, suicide, crime etc. But I'm sure they'll ignore that bit. current wave feminism seems to love to ignore facts that don't back up their beliefs.

I grew up with friends that had no mothers then some with two parents, overtime the ones with two parents did better overall, that is why a nuclear family(two parents, kids) is the best option, why would a parent not want a second source of income to support their kid or kids?

I'm all for equality but this clip doesn't present a balanced view at all. Boys are told to be "good boys" too along with girls, I don't think it implies anything (certainly not that they're inherently bad!). Furthermore what's with this notion that men who had single mothers are somehow more accepting of feminism? Dads play an important role in a child's development. Most people aren't against equality and feminism perse, what they hate is this kind of biased one sided representation of the real world to further a political agenda. Netflix, how about you buy / produce a documentary on the crisis facing men, facing boys and facing masculinity instead for balance.

Went to work drunk despite being in the military and still somehow managed to function, eventually got a girlfriend online, and left her for us only for the bitch to leave him after a year because he wouldn’t stop drinking.

Lack of voices maybe? Feminism was largely celebrated in the 80's and 90's, at least from my experience. I've really only started to notice a counter-culture to feminism since about 2008 or so, or at least the time when I was in college. But this could be because around that time is when internet culture really started taking off with social media platforms like RU-vid, Reddit, et al springing up left and right. Truthfully, though, if you look at things like the Women's March of 2016 the majority of people do support the ideas of feminism (or at least, women empowerment/equality)... they've just grown silent about it.

Ironic that they appeal to emotion so much in this trailer rather than facts, statistics, rationality, logic etc. As a woman who is part of the 91% of women in my country (the UK) that DON'T identify as feminists, despite almost all of us believing in gender equality. I was hoping this documentary would offer some kind of hint of critique of the modern feminist movement and how much of an irrational, extremist, far left turn it has taken in the last few years? But I guess nvm, just more emotionally driven bias propaganda coming from women that most ordinary women won't be able to relate to in the slightest anyway.

There's an unfurnished book I have set aside for a few years now. I heard it mentioned last night so I was reminded of it again. I wondered if I should continue reading it. Within the past year I have self diagnosed myself of having bibliophobia - fear of reading.(long story...) Yesterday I prayed if I should continue reading this particular book and the answer came clear that night once I received the sign I seeked synchronistically. Upon opening the book to the last page I left off, I read the words written by Mary Wollstonecraft that states, "I wish to show that the first object of laudable ambition is to obtain a character as a human being, regardless of the distinction of sex." And since these words were written in her response to Edmund Burke's writings - - "a woman is but an animal, and an animal not of the highest order." Perhaps he failed to recognize the sacred law that all human beings are born through the feminine. So since when have women become such objects of men's contempt? I find it weird that the last two books I've opened, I landed on pages that has very strong feminist statements. These are random books and random pages .... go figure.

I actually think that would greatly contribute to the understanding of comedy for the vast majority of society. Seriously, imagine a series based around flat earthers trying to debunk "myths," about Earth, only to find out that the proof they got was from a time where the Earth was believed to be flat, and then have other people come in and ask them about their beliefs during breaks. Lack of a father (or father figure) is one of the biggest correlative factors to having a criminal record, poor socioeconomic achievement and mobility, lack of education, and increased rates of mental health problems. (Single parent homes in general are bad.) It's not some positive thing that's magically making men better. If anything it's actually a huge negative, and the rising rates of mental health issues can be credited to single parent homes. Particularly single mothers. P.s. Kudos to those who had great single moms and managed to do well in life. Just pointing out that lack of a father figure isn't something to try and frame as a positive like it is about 1:40

But I NEEDED A FATHER. I went down a very dark path of Nihilism up until about the age of 30, only then realizing the root of it all, and was finally able to start repairing what was broken. Now I'm nowhere near where I wanted to be in life. I will work to get there. But the message of "Boys are better off without Fathers" Is literally INSANE!! That very sentence made me feel one thing. Pure hate. These women will ruin future generations of young boys.
