@@catchinupwithkim true, I’m now 75 so maintaining the gardens gets harder every year. My husband complains about mowing around things even my trees. I’ll look out into my yard and say “what’s wrong with that tree” upon further investigation he’s clipped it with the weed wacker and damaged it so now it’s dying. Your little cottage is adorable, I enjoy my stuff and I’m not ready to scale back as my twin sister did. It’s a home.
@@cheryllones2299I’m 72 and single. I debate whether to go to apartment living to save money but I’d miss my yard and gardens. Maintenance in my home is becoming beyond me.
I think taking the fort down will give you more room in the yard. Buddy and Steph's kids are growing up, Karter and Kash have their own at their house and Jake and Lyssa are moving. Koda and Karli aren't there very often so it's probably done it's job. 💜 Maybe you could reuse the wood on another project.
Hi Kim and Levi sorry to here you too have lost chickens like Pawpaw. 😢 Your garden plans sound great Kim ,God bless you both hope you have a good day.❤❤
Kim, 2:37 a.m. and I'm just watching Fridays video. My IBS was so bad that I called the doctor, and he sent me to ER. I am feeling better after getting meds and scans of all sorts. It's hell getting older but thankful for the Medical Center and Methodist hospital. I mention this because this old grandms just talked her way to a colonoscopy. I laugh because I thought of Lester. 😂 Anyway, I personally think you should keep the fort until you are ready to get rid of it. In my mind, I think Molly thinks she is still a little girl and doesn't understand what has happened to her with those horns and her girth.😂 I'm sorry you lost a chicken, and I hope you and you Paw figure out what is going on. Have a blessed and peaceful weekend.❤❤
Good morning Kim and Levi. Your Dad has lost chickens too. Jake has seen coyotes in the day out in the pasture. Little at a time, you'll get it done. 🥰🥰🥰
Kim respectfully less is always more when it comes to downsizing or decluttering your yard. That fort is a potential snake haven and needs to go in my humble opinion. Ask Daniel to come and trim up all your trees and fence lines before the next bad storm. Imagine if you took down the pool and removed any unnecessary stuff from your yard. It would be safer, easier to mow, less likely to harbor snakes and spiders. You really do need more open pasture room for all your animals. I am really proud of you for starting to declutter your house. Remember if you have not used something in the past year, donate it and have more room. Kim you are kind of a semi hoarder if you want to be real honest. Your heart to help others is as big as Texas. God is using you to help and encourage others. I love when you share your faith. Question, why doesn’t Buddy, Bree or LE ever host any dinners at their house. Same question regarding Tina, she only hosts birthday parties.
Hi Kim, glad you have enough material to get the fence sorted out. So sorry you and your Dad are losing chickens. Will you have to start putting them in the coop again at night? Just until you can find out what's getting them. Hope you and Levi have a good weekend. 🥰
I would have loved that fort as a kid! So neat. Your gate plans sound great. I love Molly, she's always up to something , she can't just graze, she has to investigate and mess with things 🤣 ❤
I know the older I get the more extreme temperatures bother me, both heat & cold. When I was younger no big deal to work outside in the heat & humidity or bitter cold. Now i just can't take it long. A thought for your lane, put either another gate or even a piece of panel you can pull back when needed so the goats can clean the "lane" yet not get into your side yard.
Good Morning Kim and Levi ☀️😊 Molly wants all of your attention 😉😂 She doesn't know her own strength 💪 Molly is so sweet though 🥰💜 Have a blessed day stay cool 🥵
Kim, I know you mentioned in a previous video about having a place for the goats to go when it's flooding. You could move and repurpose the fort for them. I would move the enclosed garden so it's not in the middle of your backyard. Have you considered keeping a in goose with your chickens? Jason and Brooke at Cog Hill Farm put a gosling in with their chickens and he/she (Cheddar) became part of the flock. The size of the goose is a deterrent to hawks.
Good morning Kim and Levi ☕️ love❤ I just love Molly! ❤She really is a pretty girl. She's my favorite girl, and Moo is my favorite guy as far as cows go. Lol 💕 Back when I had cows with my ex, he took my boy, Peanut, to the sale. He was fixed, but he did it to be mean because he knew how much I loved him. My son was a baby and I would take him out in the field in the stroller and he'd sniff the baby and he stayed close and kept the others from getting too close although he was young as well... Anyway, I haven't had cows since I had to get out of there with my son, and I enjoy watching you and your family with all the animals. We have goats and cats, getting chickens, and I have access to my niece's horses any time, and I think my husband wants pugs. (I definitely do not, but he's thinking of actually having them for the freezer later. I can't eat pork much because of my cholesterol, so that's ALL him. Not me. Lol) It is definitely humid out. It's like trying to breathe through a wet washrag! Do you have an email I can send you some pictures to? I was gonna send some of our animals and chat, but I understand if you prefer not to. I think all of us in the south are waiting for winter to do outside projects as much as possible. Jake has been catching raccoons, so you might want to see if he will set a trap out by your place. PawPaw was talking about it, too. Love y'all! Stay hydrated in this heat!
I have to tell you a funny story. The other day when you didn’t post i kept looking at my phone. my daughter asked me what’s the matter? I told her Kim hasn’t posted she said who is Kim? I looked at her with daggers in my eye and then she said oh farmer Lester sister. I said that’s a longhorn lester sister. she said you don’t even know her. I got up and went to my room. She came in and said I’m sorry mom. We both looked each other and just laughed. She’s right but you know what I’m right too. I love you and I miss you and when you’re not gonna post just tell us I’m not posting today because I picked up my phone 500 times❤❤
Hi Kim, I would ask family first if anyone wants the fort , if not just sell it on marketplace or disassemble for usable lumber. You don’t need the fort anymore. If you want something for kids to play on just get a tire swing to hang from one of your trees. Trim up the tree branches along that fence and that would open your back yard a lot. I can always tell when it’s humid here in west central Wisconsin because the sky is more gray and hazy not clear and blue skies. We need rain here. When we get rain it’s usually about 0.05 inches and that’s it. It’s been 10 days now and I have to water my tomatoes and peppers and beans every morning. My egg lady lost several of her chickens to raccoons. They even grabbed them through a fence and tried to pull them through.
****🌺 Kim, why tear done your fencing? I wouldn't!! I'd put a padlock on that back gate by Tony's & just open that gate on the fencing you were gonna tear down! If you need to use that as a separate pasture one day, its better to have it up than down, n figuring out how your gonna put it up again! Work smarter not harder, remember?? Lol, thats what I'd do if I were you. Aloha, Yvonne🌺 & Ke Koa 🐕🐾***
It sounds as though your plan will work. I just don't know how you can get your fencing done in this horrific heat. I know it needs to be done but maybe you can do little by little early mornings or in the evenings. It will bs so nice once it's done. Molly wants your attention and loving. She's gotten so big and doesn't know her own strength. I can imagine her horns don't feel good scraping on you. You and Levi take care and stay cool and have a wonderful day.❤
If you don't need the fort anymore...you could see if gigi and pop want it for the kids over at their house...that way its not just sitting there unused...excited to see the work being done and the finished product ❤
Can you make the fort into a shelter for any of your animals? If not probably taking it down and saving the wood is a good idea. But that’s me. Think it through first and you will come up with the best idea. ❤
Afternoon Kim and Levi. Molly sure knows how to say hello and get your attention. Sounds like a good plan with the fence. Hope you both have a wonderful weekend take care God bless 🙏💕🦋
You say you just need to get off your rearend and get started. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard you say. You are one of the most hard working woman I've ever seen. I really do admire not only how hard you work but how you take care of your parents, really your whole family. And you seem like a very nice person. God knew what he was doing when He gave you Levi. He is such a blessing but not everyone would think so. You have a wonderful family
Make the fort another goat house or chicken house. I have learned the less fence the better because of weed eating and spraying. I have put locks on all my gates to make sure they stay closed. Kim I want you to know I have thirty cows and 25 calves, cats 5, and two dogs. Will be getting more chicken's for my chicken yard love the fresh eggs. But all this was something I was not counting on it was what my mom and dad left me after they past. I enjoy the peace, quiet, and drama free life. I do a little at a time so I can stay out of debt, so far calves have paid for the 150 bales of hay, minerals and salt, up keep on cows, grass mowing of pastures, rye grass seeds for the winter grass and somethings that needed to be done. I have just me to work this plays and I also work. The next plans for me is to move a loading pen, get a pond reworked and new fencing around my place...50 acres. Love the videos from this 61 year old woman that knows more than what she lets people know...I am also going to start redoing things in their house but I will take my time and goal is not to borrow money so it will all be paid for. I started at 45 of age closing all credit cards so the only bills I have is my necessities and will have a vehicle note once again thank you for giving me encouragement of doing for myself and getting help when I need it
I'm glad you have some materials to move your fence. Could you use the 6ft gate Pawpaw made and have it overlap onto the fort? Sorry your loosing chickens. ❤🍯
Hello Kim I would keep the fort you have a bunch of little girls in the family that could use it if you don't want it send it over to Gigi and Pawpaw 😂 just checking in on you and Levi seeing what your up too 😊😊😊
I used to give the hooks to my dogs but when you have 4 chewing in the living room, the noise is loud and the smell is horrible. They no longer get them
🙋🏻Hi Kim, Levi and all the critters. Sorry that you've been losing chickens. I know that you've talked to Pawpaw by now and he's told you that he's been losing chickens also. So maybe it's not Tony's dog but some stray dog running around or like you said the hawks... He's decided to keep his chickens penned up until he can figure out what's going on...
Kim is that Tony’s trailer? Just asking because I get it. I have a son that lives near me. It’s the same way never see him. He’s always in his house. But at least Tony is working. Molly is such a beautiful cow love her. She’s beautiful. Just thinking of you guys, love you videos. Keep them coming. Love you, Kim and family Merleen from Massachusetts.❤️😘
Kim, maybe talk to Pawpaw about moving the Fort to Camp Heidi for the kiddos when y’all are having family activities there. The boys would have to raise it up off the ground because of flooding, but it would be perfect back there for the great grands.
I hate when chickens get attacked!☹️ …or anything thats just out there minding their own business, feeling safe at home… you’ve got a lot to work with making a passageway for the animals when it’s necessary. It’ll make things so much easier in the throws of a storm!
Are you going to let Katie become a goat at some point or do you plan to keep her separate? None of my business but just wondering. You are amazing at what you get accomplished on your own.❤❤
So glad your texts came back good,I stub my big to so bad judz before landlord came over and few hrs later it still hurts Thursday the ceiling gets started home don't take long after lunch got to take nap
qhat about building the chicken yard around the tree so they could still roost in tbe tree, and come down safely to drink and eat? also have some shade.
