Just got mine yesterday, and videos/photos do it ZERO justice. It's, hands-down, the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen. Full stop. The finish is different in every light, and it is mesmerizing to look at. The neck feel is soooooooo smooth and great, and the quality makes me understand why American Strats are just absolutely worth the money, and for me - I couldn't have spec'd a better guitar if I had gone custom shop. New favorite guitar, and I own 13 so it has competition!! Sounds fantastic (though, it sounds way better with Ms. Gamble playing it - but that's just operator error lol), plays effortlessly, and it's an instant dopamine hit every time you look at it. This is not a paid review by the way, I'm just in love with this thing that much that it sounds like it !! haha
You truly make it sound as amazing as it looks. I've been interested in this guitar too but I wondered how different the modern D shape neck feels from the modern C. All my strats have modern C and I wondered if there was much difference in feel.
What a cool person and beautiful guitar and effective clip. Apparently over 50% of new guitar players and purchasers are women, so kudos to Fender for being with the times and showcasing this guitarist. I do wish she used less compression in some of her funkier playing (it's like hearing someone singing or saying everything at exactly the same volume, without dynamics or punctuation), even though it's common in funk, but it portrays that the player isn't confident they can play a funk riff consistently or smoothly, and that's why compression was originally used by some funk players. (Cory Wong does this too, in all of his playing, including lead, which is like using training wheels.) Guitarists like SRV and Hendrix were about fighting compression (including from their amps, etc.) and trying to get as much dynamics (i.e., personality) and expression and open sound as possible in their playing. Also, I've played the stock version of this guitar--the pickups (like many noiseless ones) are dull and muted (like there's a blanket over the amp). It's still usable, but it's a shame that no one's perfected the noiseless single coil yet. Yes, these are just my opinions. Yours are equally valid.
Very well constructed comment. Good thoughts here. I started off buying compressors and I kept trying them and trying them but honestly I felt like they took away from dynamics. What's your favorite guitar you've tried out?

I've tried some great Fender guitars (Strats mostly), but once the frets wear out and you have to level or replace them, the guitars are never the same, even after pro setups. So, I only buy guitars with stainless steel frets now, so that they don't change much over time. I started with the cheap ones on Amazon (Eart, etc.), which never had much tuning stability and often had other quality issues, so I eventually bought a Suhr (Classic S, about $3k--more than I ever thought I'd spend, but I'm thinking long-term). I've had it for almost 2 weeks now and am increasingly bonding with it and appreciating it and digging it. It feels solid and reliable and well thought-out, and hopefully I won't have to keep replacing frets or guitars hereafter. Otherwise, if you don't mind 21 frets and are on a budget, the Squier Classic VIbes are consistently great. And I have mixed feelings about the Fender Player series--I've played some great feeling and sounding ones, but the saddles are cheap and dig into your hand when palm muting, for example. Tagima guitars seem almost as good to me (except some of the materials may be a bit cheaper) and much less expensive. I don't really love the Fender American Pro or Ultra series, though the American Performer seems pretty good. I've also been curious about the Ibanez Revstars (with stainless steel frets and apparently good setups out of the box), but they tend to be very heavy. I've never bonded with a MusicMan guitar (they just feel different), though I'm sure I could. Hope that helps :).
You sold me, This might be my next guitar. I own a Mod Shop HSS which is based on the American Professional. My neck is Maple C to D and I have locking tuners and the PUs are 4th gen noiseless. This looks just a little better. Great playing, BTW.
That's awesome. You might know the answer to my question then I wonder about the feel difference between the the modern D neck shape versus modern C? All the strats I own are modern C neck and I saw this guitar has the modern D
Beautiful guitar and a great demo of the real sound of it, i.e. not swamped in overdrive and other effects. Find it ironic they used a compound radius for the anniversary, when poor old Wayne Charvel who invented it while at Fender, was pushed out and had to go to Jackson guitars.

@@williamdoval769 hope you called into any major retailer to get more off when you ordered. I just ordered mine and got 15% off by calling a sales rep. Had another preordered from another retailer with 10% off but cancelled that for the increased discount.
