Amazing review Jonathan! You just made me spend $2000. I was torn between the mocha and blue but you have the only video I could find that shows off the mocha burst the best. I can't wait till this comes in next week. Outstanding guitar playing too, love the tone.

As always a great review and outstanding playing. To me this was one of the best guitars I have heard you play along with the G&L’s. Leo was an absolute genius to say his designs have lasted this long and copied more than any other.

I just purchased this exact same guitar and the tonemaster deluxe reverb amp in blonde. Cant wait to get home from this oilrig off the coast of Newfoundland to pick it up! Then i begin 3 weeks of isolation and constant playing. Love your playing too....just my style.

I have an Ultra Telecaster. It has the nicest neck of any guitar I've ever played. So I've just ordered the Ultra Stratocaster. It arrives tomorrow. Can't wait, I'm not going to get much work done! 😁🎸

Nice guitar Jonathan. I wonder how the sound compares to non noiseless pickups? They are a lot of money, but if you look after them they hold their value if not go up when the become vintage, so if you get one don’t sell it in a hurry. Playability is often missed, so it’s good to hear they feel comfortable to play. I got my boutique pickups Jonathan for my 2011 USA Strat, they are fantastic, little noise too, much better than the stock ones. How does this compare to you Comanche, I think the Comanche sounds better? Congrats reaching 10K subscribers, now go for 20K. Thanks again for demoing this great guitar.

Very beautiful guitar, Jonathan. All the features are ecactly the same as on my Deluxe Stratocasters. I own two of them in 3TSB, one with RW fretboard and one with maple neckboard. The S1 switch is really giving more interesting sounds. The one strat with the maple fingerboard is having such a great sustain which I never found on any other Fender stratocaster. This Ultra Series Stratocaster is the follow-up to the Deluxe Stratocaster and can be highly recommended to every serious guitar player. Thanx for your demonstration, Jonathan. Nice Strat Janathan! I'm impressed with the bridge pup tone - not as ice picky as I would've expected especially with the maple fretboard. Don't know if you knew this but Servco Pacific, a Hawaii company, is now the majority owner of Fender.

Great playing and excellent review as usual. Ok, now I'm really torn between the Ultra and G&L Fullerton Deluxe Comanche. I'm an adult student ready to branch out to the electric.

Always nice feeling watching you play. Not a lot of people give me that. Anyway, i love strats a lot of people don't get the right way to use them to me, making advantage of the pots which i find essential for a really good strat tone!

Great video Jonathon. This is not an issue with the video, or demo, but a big disappointment with Fender. What is it: If Fender is going to call this an Ultra Stratocaster, which it does, putting NICKEL FRETS in a guitar, at this price point, is honestly, ridiculous.Fender tried to fend off competition from lower priced Suhr guitars and the Ibanez AZ series, which was pretty much an all out assault on the Stratocaster. Some will argue that the Ibanez AZ series is more an attack at Suhr, but in the end, putting soft nickel frets, on what is supposed to be, an Ultra Strat, is ridiculous and why I did NOT buy one. I did not feel like spending that type of money on a guitar, that will need a fret job (not cheap), if I keep it for life. If other like it, that is fine, as this is only my opinion. The other disappointment, is the lack of an LSR roller nut, as the Jeff Beck Strat is great, with a neck I like better (purely subjective), but the exact same bridge and the LSR roller nut, is flat out, outstanding. The Jeff Beck, I found out, is the best selling Stratocaster, even while the Ultra is out. What I did and saved a lot of money. I wanted the best of both, so I bought a mint used Deluxe Strat, which comes with the same bridge, same neck as the Jeff Beck, LSR roller nut, cutaway to the upper frets, but not the extra routing, then order a loaded Ultra Pickguard to drop it into that Deluxe easily. Now I really have a Jeff Beck Ultra Strat, with a comfortable C shape neck, * stainless steel frets, the LSR roller nut and really, created the real Ultra Strat, in my opinion, minus some extra neck routing. I can live without the extra neck routing, in exchange for great frets, an LSR nut and now, an Ultra HSS loaded pickguard in it. Same locking and staggered machine heads AND I SAVED almost $700 creating this mint Strat and it was easy. For those that love the Ultra that is great. Once I found out the frets were soft nickel, I left the store without it, disappointed, but did try the Jeff Beck. I liked it, but wanted HSS. After some thought, I realized that I could get a 2010-2012 Deluxe HSS Strat, S1, mint, then drop in a mint Ultra HSS S1 pickguard and have, to me, the best of the 2 most popular Strats and features, plus, save $700 and the case was identical. This may be food for thought for others, but I feel, that Fender should have done this in the first place and nickel frets, on an ultra strat, after years of using fantastic stainless steel fret wire, is unacceptable. I almost bought the Ibanez AZ, which does not sound like a Strat, but for the same money, you get so much more quality and that should have been a wake up call for Fender. This is just my opinion, it does not make it right, or wrong, or anyone else's opinion, right or wrong, but that is why I did not buy this guitar, or the hss version, not wanted soft frets, which may be alright with others. ** This video is great, the playing is great, well done Jonathon, but anyone buying an Ultra Strat, should know a couple of shortcoming, especially soft nickel frets, instead of stainless steel. I asked a highly qualified sales person, at a great and large store, if the frets would hold up, long term and the honest answer, was no and in his opinion, nickel frets, made no sense. I asked the price of a fret replacement. His honest answer, was: it would be cheaper to buy a mint used neck in the future. No thanks! Just my opinion. It is a great feeling, great sounding guitar, with beautiful colours and tones and I really wanted one badly, but I just thought of another way to get features I want. Thanks Jonathon and this has nothing to do with your video, or anything of that nature, as it was great, but some disappointment with Fender, capable or more, but doing well. Between a Schecter with the same body and Ibanez AZs loaded, Fender could have made the Ultimate Strat, instead of an Ultra Strat, in my humble opinion. Just an opinion. All the best to all. With a lsr roller nut it would be perfect. Every strat i have plsyed (a lot) it only the ones with roller nut that should be allowed to have a tremolo arm.

Ahhh, so nice. I actually had the Elite Fender Stratocaster and I am kicking myself in the butt for selling it... ALTHOUGH I NEVER used the S-switch as it sounded beautiful without that heavier sound of course. But comes in handy when needed. I will be saving up for an ultra, I may take a while but when I set my mind on a guitar, I do it. But definitely this will be THE last guitar I will be getting, I promise!! Also, I think that's great!!! 10.000 subscribers :-) :-)

I just ordered me a Mocha Burst from an online dealer (ofcourse the only one they didn't have in stock, so I have to wait xtra for it to ship - but what can I do?) -Can't wait to get this beauty home. I was (in the beginning) torn between the blue one and this, but since I already have a Ibanez RG5120M-FCN in a very special blue finish, I found out that the fender needs to be Mocha Burst :) - tnx for a nice video :) -AP!

How would you compare these pickups to the Comanche? A comparison between these two would be interesting. You would be the best to do this. Old school noiseless vs. new school noiseless.

Beautiful guitar, but why oh why do the geniuses at Fender insist on fitting prehistoric screw types on the bridge pivot points? One slip with a flat bladed screwdriver and that expensive guitar is damaged. Maybe they found a warehouse full of old screws used in Leo Fender's day, but come on Fender it's 2020 not 1920!
