Other era-appropriate appointments include Pure Vintage '61 Single-Coil Strat pickups, a synchronized tremolo and vintage-style hardware.
We invited guitarist Tim Stewart, whose credits include Lady Gaga, Rihanna, American Idol, Suicidal Tendencies, Janet Jackson and more, to dig into its classic sounds through a vintage tweed Fender Super 6V6.

A review of this Strat that I was looking for: no blues, no tamed/too polite sounds, just full blown rock n roll to let you hear what this axe sounds like when driven to extremes - Big THX 🙏

It needs to be mentioned, since Fender isn't talking about it: there is a polyurethane undercoat below the nitro, just like all the other American Strats. So the nitro is basically a veneer. It will wear, but not down to the wood like a vintage guitar. There will be a plastic see-through coating over the wood etc.
@paurelius885
@paurelius885 3 месяца назад
Is that really true ? kind of makes me rethink it.
@thegrandpencil4374
@thegrandpencil4374 3 месяца назад
@@paurelius885 Yes. It's true. Why it's not listed in the specs is anyone's guess. Even on Sweet Water, it says Nitro. But it's a Nitro coat over a poly sealer. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up to the player, but it SHOULD at least be out there for potential buyers to consider. These are expensive guitars. We should know what we're buying, imo.

I played this guitar and its really nice. I am debating between this guitar and the PRS Silver Sky which is suppose to be similar to a 1963 Strat.

I bought a core PRS silver sky. And I'm very happy with it.
@revelationsoundstudio
@revelationsoundstudio 6 месяцев назад
Both guitars sound great, but I purchased the PRS Core Silver Sky over the Fender for the following reasons. 1. The back pickup was not ice picky like the Fender. 2. The frets are larger and it helps you to stay in your lane better. 3. The whammy bar you can just pull out vs rotating it in multiple times 4. Locking tuners. 5. The tone control works on the back pickup.

Saludos amigos 🎸😄👍🏽

Can't afford this model BUT would it be a good move or foolish move to put the Pure vintage 61 pickups into the Vintera II 60s strat? I don't know that the difference in pickups is worth the cost but I sure like the way it sounds.

Those Vintera pups sound great. Head-to-head, I sometimes I think they sound better than the American ones. (Having heard some A/B tests on RU-vid)

I have a comparably cheap 'mim' strat from 2016. For like a year i was looking at the 61 AV II series as i fell in love with their looks (FRD and OWT) and i wanted to get an upgrade for my 'cheap' strat. A month ago i went to the store and totally wanted to buy one of these models. Actually i was quite disappointed. They neither played better nor sounded better than my 599€ mim strat (of course that is my personal perception). After that i tried a Vintera II 60s Telecaster as i don't own a tele (yet ;)). Nope. Not impressed either and they also had a bad setup... i thought that maybe the horrible action was the retailers fault? But i also came across some reviews that criticised the bad setup and quality control. So maybe a quality control issue at fender? So i never thought i'd buy a signature model and pay extra bucks for the name, but i ended up bonding with a PRS Fiore (i actually did not even hear of Mark Lettieri before). Absolutely beautiful guitar. For me it does almost everything better than the fender. Many more sound options with the push/pull knobs and the wiring, locking tuners, i like the fatter neck, cable positioning (not in the way of my trem arm), the trem arm is smoother, i love the HSS setup and how the pickups sound. The only thing missing for perfection would be a rosewood or ebony fretboard option. Absolutely not (!) saying everyone should get a prs over a fender. Its just that i'd recommend to go to the store and play them instead of buying based on looks, 'vintage' myth and super cool edited videos of guys sitting in front of an amp wall while playing like young gods. I almost made the mistake of ordering one blindly based on specs, looks and youtube demos. I also thought 'they have to be good for that amount of money, right?' Glad they weren't in stock and i did not order blindly!

If it’s setup properly, the 7.25” radius is a non issue. At that points it’s all matter of preference.
@kaphillum
@kaphillum Год назад
7.25, somehow the movement of both hands feels more "right" or natural. Could be because of the relationship to the neck width or whatever :)
@thegrandpencil4374
@thegrandpencil4374 4 месяца назад
@@dansands6363 If you take a 9.5 radius and set it up perfectly, it will be superior for soloing to a 7.25 radius which is set up perfectly. There is a reason players like Clapton etc. made the switch. It's just a better radius. Having said that, you can get by with a 7.25. It can obviously be done.

It's a shame that Fender puts the Fender logo on the headstock of this guitar with a sticker and that for a guitar of more than two thousand euros or dollars!
@Luka0346
@Luka0346 Год назад
This is easily the most stupid comment ever. This is a ‘Vintage reissue’, that means that the guitar was made exactly like it was made back in 1961. And that was with a ‘sticker’. If you don’t want that go buy yourself a modern Fender, these do not come with a ‘sticker’. My God…
@jmsamborski

7.25 radius killed this run of guitars. They need to stop putting out a neck that maybe 5-10% of people want unless they’re going to offer the guitar in a 9.5 radius at the same time.
