Ahhhh... I usually gravitate towards 60s strats, but on this occasion, I much prefer the sound of the 57

Try the 73 I looooooooove it! Just like I remember as a kid in the 80’s its like picking up an old friend.

Dam I’m stuck lol, I use to have a squier CV 50s in same colour way, so I’m looking to buy the 60s, for a different feel and experience, but I really loved my cv too the maple neck was just so good in my opinion. With saying that how would you describe the feel of the 57 fretboard to the rosewood. And also Which guitar captured your heart the most! Great video by the way keep it up lads

In some hands the maple board on th 57 will feel 'sticky' under the fingers, but if you are used to the CV 50s you may be ok. Out of the two on the day, the 57 just nudged in front. However if you are looking to compliment rather than replace your guitar, the 60s would be my choice. PM

I think if you are going to shoot out two strats you have to compare neck pu to neck pu, bridge pu to bridge pu, etc. Going thru all three pickups then switching guitars does not make for a good direct comparison.

I love a maple V neck. Are the fretboard edges rolled or fairly sharp on the ‘57?

They don’t describe them as rolled, but they are not sharp that’s for sure. Super comfy necks. PM me

Historically bad time to buy a Fender. This period of guitars is coming out of a period that had record sales (Covid). They’ve now transitioned to lower quality cost cutting guitars at higher prices, and laid off staff etc to compensate for not making what they were a few years ago. Wait 3-5 years. At that point, they will have “win back” customers and that period will be historically great guitars.

If you’ve never played a pure vintage AVRI from 2012-17, you’d have no idea how good they were at one point for the money. I played a ‘61 the other day, nice guitar but nowhere near my ‘65 AVRI in terms of feel.

@@Joe_Andrus The AVRI series was the best value I have seen in my lifetime, granted I'm only 38. Absolute steals and fantastic guitars... I have 2 telecasters from that era.
