Show me one developer who doesnt know how to completely play their game. Or who doesnt know every nook and cranny of the world they create. The games on esports are a tiny fraction of all the games out there. Poor analogy.
Fender is a much more respectable brand than Gibson and the CEO may be the coolest CEO ever. I mean he busted out everything from Deep purple to Slipknot.
@@samkinison2375 in a dying industry Fender is leading the pack right now and it's largely due to this guy and the changes he's made to the company and the product. You guys want playable offsets? Boom done.
at least he knows well enough about his artists and cares about how the company is run. people are expecting for a busy CEO to have skills like he's Vai or something.
I’ve always loved Fender guitars and it’s always nice to have a CEO of a guitar company who’s a fan and can play a little. Andy’s not perfect, he’s just plugging in and playing like the rest of us non-virtuoso players can do and playing riffs from memory. I love that Tom Morello guitar, might have to look into that one.
How great is it that the CEO of Fender is demoing his own guitars?! What a great concept, kinda reminds me of Steve Jobs with the iPhone. That Tom Morello story was awesome, and his riffs we're not bad! Totally jammin.
Exactly, that amp sounds awful! Perhaps one could eke out some slightly better tones, but to me Fender gain has almost always sounded bad...this one especially so.
To all the haters on his playing: I guess being the CEO of Fender doesn't mean you get the practice guitar all day. And he still did a decent job overall.
Was not expecting the Scottish accent, or that playing "style" if you can even call it that. I gots ta give the man props for partnering with Seydel harmonicas though to create the excellent Midnight Special harmonica, truly one of the most beautiful harps ever produced.
Haha the accent got me too. His “style” to me is the style of “I’m trying to play riffs from memory... and I only play this thing twice a year”. I can only assume because he looks and sound like I do on the guitar hahaha
A CEO of a guitar company that can actually play his product. It's brilliant and extreeemely refreshing. Whether or not he is as good as you is beside the point. He is obviously a huge fan of music in general. The fact that he's from the UK was the clincher for me. Great stuff! I'd watch this guy play and talk all day with his enthusiasm and kindness over a 5 minute video from Agnesi.
@@vanhalen5150 HaHa, that made me laugh, thanks. I think the mic is a Sennheiser 3609, I have one and it works very well for cab/amps. The problem here is the gain on-board the amp. In my experience, high gain styles sound awful through Fender amps, at least while using their on-board gain.
Carmine Martino I assume the mic’s gain was set higher than they intended it to be. I’ve played through a similar Fender amp and it was never as bright and ear-piercing as that.
this man here did the thing that gibson couldnt do great guitars at affordable prices for beginners and pros alike and good quality while respecting guitar players and the name and other companies too I can also see this man is a cultured man of music too like he literally played songs his generation usually dont listen to too and that great for a CEO for a guitar company you gotta have an open mind on music too and expand your interests i 100% praise and respect this man and a really really cool ceo you dont get to see that from other ceos
Glad to see most comments are positive, the guy seems down to earth and honest. Probably was quite hard for him to do the video. Guess he did his research and watched other videos of people riffing it up but still managed to perform well with good Scottish jest.
About hating on this man's playing.. Not everyone needs, wants or needs to be the best player around. Not everyone has the time to practice all day. To me is surprising enough that he is a CEO of a guitar making company that actually enjoys guitars!(see other major companiesbin general) As long as he doesn't let Fender join Gibson down the drain, he's killing where he should be killing it. After all, you don't have to paint like Picasso to sell his paintings.
I don't mind the playing, I'm very happy that he even plays at all. But how on earth did they mess up the tone this much? I mean even in post they could've EQ it a bit to tame that harshness. That's not a very good look on the people who produced this.
Respect this guy, especially for that Cantrell and "Lil Wang" (Unknown Hinson ref for anyone wondering) Tone is a bit rough, but, seems like a genuinely nice guy to have a beer and bullshit with.
It's ubelieveble that a corporate CEO can actualy see past the production numbers and profits. This is the kind of boss that understands the business in every aspect, no wonder Fender are doing such an amazing job. They have an amazing CEO!
This dude, wina my ultimate respect. In my industry most CEO dont have a clue about fat washing or clarification etc He can play a vast different genres and know people in that genre plus has a genuine love for them. Anyone bagging on this guy needs their head checked. I would love this guy as my dad let alone as my CEO.
I would much prefer a CEO that saves a company and industry of dying than a CEO that only plays a guitar like a god... not to mention that he’s surprisingly decent at playing with his left hand

The range currently is way better than it used to be probably even the best it has been for left handed fender players. At least they are making guitars like the jazzmaster available at all different price ranges. Which you couldn’t get for years unless you bought a vintage one which very few exist or imported one from Japan. I do wish they had little more but what we’re getting now isn’t bad compared to before. At least most regular models.

@mihir kattimani The reason I know about Slipknot's guitarists only having one volume knob on their guitars is because of the sweat factor. I really appreciate Fender as a company. Of course they have the same problems as most massive companies do, but I really feel like they care about their customers. As for the comments on Andy’s playing, don’t forget Leo wasn’t even a guitarist.

Cool to see a CEO of a guitar company playing, Unfortunately i will still never buy another fender guitar after dreaming of a real Stratocaster I finally bought one, a 2013 USA standard with custom shop fat 50s in it. and was so disappointed at the quality of the workmanship, not to mention the truss rod was almost maxed out from the factory, sharp frets all-over the place and must have levelled by a JCB. So here we are 7 years later after several meetings with guitar luthiers they all said the neck was never going to work right, ended up buying a new neck from a local guitar maker now it plays and sounds great just like it should have when i bought it. Both Gibson and fender now are just corporate machines with one sole purpose appease the investors not the customer.
4:20 I have one of exactly those Strats, just in angry pink colour. 80's in a nutshell - very flat radius, great for soloing and awkward for chords. I've also got a typical Stratocaster, which is the opposite - great for funk and barre chords, but there are solo lines it can't play as good.
