yeah well if you play and know anything about guitars made now you’d know that guitars don’t relic like that anymore, they’re made and finished with poly finishes instead of the nitro finish used on earlier guitars like vintage strats teles and even les pauls, the main reason why people now would be chasing guitars like this is most likely because of the fact that no matter how much and hard you play your guitar, it’s never going to age like a $45,000 50-60s strat cause new finishes end up being more durable and chippy instead of the scratchy brittleness the nitro finishes are known for, so before you scream “poser, poser” learn something about what your talking about

@thatoneguy1374 It's a trend, Fender with the "relic" look & Gibson with "aged" and "heavy aged" look. If someone wants to spend their money on an instrument that looks abused, cool. If you look a what collectors generally look for or browse reverb for 10 mins.. easy to see "mint" and excellent condition is what people want. I guess OEM factory destroyed has it's place with some select few.

Do not be fooled by American Fender it's a lie get yourself a Japanese Fender they're better they're more quality control and they actually care about what they make Japan is making guitars for $300 that smoke Les Paul's they smoke all stratocasters telecasters that just better make guitars for less money and it makes sense cuz you get better quality parts

Lol, I’m a multi-instrumentalist and I love these heavy relic guitars.

Gibson is over-hyped and over priced. fender is not comparable as far as a value aspect. Gibson Les Paul's play like shit won't stay tuned due to headstock shape and are prone to headstock and neck fractures due to the headstock angle. fender has the absolute best neck and headstock specs on the entire market they don't break easily and the angle keeps the strings inline and out of a bind resulting in better tuning and quality. I'd buy a $1200 fender player before I'd ever buy any Gibson Les Paul. And that's coming from a les Paul guy. I prefer Epiphone Les Paul's though their headstock angle is 10° where Gibson's angle is like 14°-15° and Gibson's open book headstock is slightly wider at the end where the D and G tuners are. Also the relic series is not that much more than a player series. For example the Mike McCready relic is only $1,800 where the player is $1,200-$1,400 Sure there are some fenders Worth $5,000-$15,000 but nowhere near the amount of Gibsons that are worth $19,000-$350,000 🤷
