Hi BTK I have the Black/Gold Precision version of this and it’s doing well for me. Got it last spring. The only mods I did on this guitar was have it restrung with DR Black Beauty strings because I love the feel and sound they produce. The only annoying thing about this guitar was the glossy neck. It’s too sticky so I sanded it down and it’s much more smoother now.

Hey Bully, that looks nice and sounds nice. I tried to purchase a 70’s Vibe 5 string Squire to replace the one my nephew has absconded with and I ordered and Audere preamp just like my first one and when I got the bass the truss rod was broken, GC ordered me another one and the body was messed up after getting a third bass the frets were bad and GC tried to say the low level Fender brands come like that now. So I asked for a refund. SMH🤬

Man I hope you do a full on review of this bass, it deserves it. I know it’s pricey for a Squier but I bought 1 used for about $150 bucks off new price. Upgraded the pickups with Dimarzios I had laying around and it’s sounds fantastic. I will say that I like the neck, except they put a coat of finish on there like a basketball court. I sanded the neck and now it’s slicker than grease. So impressed with it, I bought a second used one for a backup as this is my main bass for the cover band I’m in. Both in Ruby Red of course.

That hole commercial thing about Squier 40th anniversary ends up being a complete BS… I mean, look at the body colors… the only interesting version is the ruby color. They brought satin finishes but it only applies to the Vintage series, which is a different family inside the lineup. Then, the pickups, still nothing new, always the same « F »designed thing… Even worst, There isn’t not even a fretless version among that lineup 🙄 It literally feels like those « designers » were sitting on their ass during Covid time 😬 At least, and thanks to China, the Affinity lineup brought some nice surprises, whatever it’s a guitar or a bass. Feels like Indonesian market is getting too much confident. I guess it’s the KTM Duke’s fault …
