I'm trying to get my 5 year old nephew into music and was showing him your videos. He didn't even want to go to bed last night, just wanted to hear more guitar. Next time your in the Philadelphia area, we are going
Yes. I still have my '64 I bought brand new. Good on you on your '63's! Change out those 6L6's for new Tung-Sol 5881's and you can dial up more bottom end without it going boomy on you. Set your EQ for the neck pickup. Then roll back the treble on the bridge pickup with your bottom tone control. Works peachy!
Worth to mention, the normal channel is more bassy and out phase compared to the vibrato channel. But with an easy mod involving only one wire to re-connect, you could have the normal channel with reverb & vibrato and in phase with the vibrato channel which would also allow bridging of both channels together.
Salut Steve!
What drive pedals can really work with a blackface set up for that magic strat clean sound with the bright switch on? Or any other tricks to get a real rock tone live thru one amp set for that clean? Been buyin n tryin shit 30 sum years unsuccessfully.
Not like a Marshall can but it can twang like a Marshall can’t! What I do on a big stage is A Super and a Marshall together, at the same time. Then it chugs and twangs!
