Great demo, you’re the right guy for the job with the varied “real world “ gigging experience you’re sharing with us. Amazing what’s happening with stuff we used to look down our noses at- solid state amps , budget import guitars are way better than anything available when I started out! Again, great job Rich
I gigged this amp for years. Used the clean channel as a pedal platform, and dialed in a delicious boosted lead tone on the burn channel. If you can't sound great through a SS22, you won't sound good through anything
I just bought one today, used at GC. it was 770.00 plus 25.00 for shipping to a close store + tax=875.00. I had to get the pedal from Reverb, that was 85.00. I think in total about 900.00. I will know with in 45 days if I am going to keep it. I like the return policy, especially when used & I have not played any of my axes through it. I want to know how it takes pedals as well. I bought the Tweed-it was the same price as the black. I like the tweed look.
I bought this amp back in 2012 & it is an incredible amp right out of the box . Much like the Fender Twin Reverb , but better ! You can play almost any genre of music without adding any extra effects . You have to take your time & play around with knobs & settings , gains etc , . But the clean & dirty sounds are just like wow .
I don’t generally like Fender amps (I know right) but this one and the bass breaker series are great. Generally prefer the way Vox and Marshalls respond to my playing
Yeah I put a 12ay7 in V4 position and it is dead silent at idle Also a 5751 into V1 position and JJ 6v6s to give it a little more Headroom so I get just a little break up at volume 4 when I'm playing out I really only use the clean channel sometimes I'll click over for leads sometimes I just noticed that channel 2 kind of doesn't have the backbone that the clean channel has
Great playing, really good demonstration. I bought one -used at GC. I think I paid 870.00 + 85.00 for a footswitch. The Footswitch says effects. I hope it turns the FX loop on/off. I have 45 days to decide. There was only one factory setting that I thought was a no go for me. It had the Bass on 11. I think that is the setting that did not sit the best for you.-Take care, God bless.
Nice demo! Thank you. I've been looking for a 20ish watt tube amp (head) for a long time. I've looked at just about everything out there except, wait for it, the Fender Super Sonic. It sounds great, my search is over.
I've always wondered abou these. I loved the old Fender Prosonic amps for high gain. (Actually for almost anything.) I always thought this amp was supposed to be a less quirky version of the Prosonic. I used to be a channel switching amp and a couple of pedals guy but that changed years ago. Now I'm a pedal guy. However, since this amp would probably be a great pedal platform it might be worth adding to the stable. Currently I don't have any amp that will do high gain.
Thank you- you answered my question. There is a 3 & 4 button if bought used, as I did. In the event there is a multi pin cable going into the footswitch -That means it turns on/off the FX loop. The threee switch does not have the FX on it.
Quite a bit of gain for a Fender amp but sounded a bit dark to me. I like to use gain from an amp and use the volume pots on the guitar to clean up the sound. There is such a choice of amps these days covering all budgets. Not sure if this is one I would go for.
I wonder why Fender doesn't produce an amp designed for metal? Pretty much everyone else offers something truly high gain, but this seems to be as close as FMIC can get.
I been eyeing this amp this past month. I think I watched every possible You Tube video on it. Stil have to try one in person. Very cool that you did a video on it. I also love your guitar. I just changed my andonized gold pickguard on my Fender Ultra Stratocaster Texas Tea with a tortoise shell Looks alot like your strat in this video but with a maple neck.
