Excellent video, no blabla, straight to the point! One thing that you did not mention is that the PD35R running time in full Turbo mode is twice as the PD35 V3 thanks to the new IOP (Intelligent Overheat Protection). I had a PD32 for years that I loved for the long distance power, the ultra thin beam is the reason I need that kind of flashlight over other models (and I have a half dozen from Fenix). That's why I will go for the PD35R. Future will tell us if I was right. But as you said, both are incredible flashlights, you cant't go wrong anyway with Fenix and worth the extra price over competitors.
The pd40r has more throw and brighter spill than both of these. It's bigger using a 21700 battery, but it will do 30 lumens for 88 hours. Doesn't burn up as fast either.
Just got the fenix pd35 v3 today...the beam in lower lumen settings is very green. Not sure I like that...waiting till dark to do some beam shots. Just in case is their an alternative to it that I should look at? Just need something for my back and front yard. I got some brush areas around the house..so the higher lumens will be helpful. Thanks.
