Then why does it work so well on Lingering Will? 😂 Don't get me wrong, what you said IS true but I get the feeling Terra's an exception. Not that I'm complaining lol
@@raptorlewis273 LOL, you're right. But (to clarify) I was exclusively referring to the Data Org. fights. The "Negative Combo + Fenrir" strat is more effective against Roxas than Xemnas; it does the same amount of damage, but Xemnas is harder to hit because he has better mobility and ranged capabilities, therefore making the strat take longer.
I'm low-key amazed at how little lag there is in KH2 for landing and jumping again. You get to land, jump, and attack again all before they're out of hitstun.
This is the difference between the old combat philosophy and the new one. Every game after 2 has been considered floaty because finishers no longer snap you to the ground. With negative combo and Fenrir most bosses should get cheesed by this
Yeah, the Osaka team absolutely murdered the flow this game had. Particle effects and shiny graphics will never top the nirvana that was the combat of KH2.
@@C_Train74 very much so agreed. I've come to love the others more than I used to, even 3 has grown on me with how flashy and fun it is, but admittedly the original teams combat philosophy is better
Let’s analyze this thoroughly. Strap in, this is gonna be a long thread. Short explanation as to why the Fenrir strat works, Sora’s neutral air finisher puts some (not all) humanoid bosses into a damage wobble animation. In this animation, they can’t retaliate. So if you string finishers together by jumping, you can loop them. If you do this, make sure they don’t touch a wall that is angled. If they hit a wall that is weirdly shaped, they’ll be in the air long enough to recognize that their revenge value threshold has been reached and they’ll instantly retaliate. I’ve done this for all 13 data fights as well, so thank you for compiling them into a very nice video. Here’s the results: All fights that happen in an arena with flat ground, and invisible walls are pretty much guaranteed to work. Roxas: guaranteed to work, and for added style points, if you take his Keyblades, they deal bonus damage for you. Larxene: guaranteed to work, but you can’t let her split. If she does split, merge her clone back into her with the RC and then wail on her. Marluxia: Guaranteed to work. Nothing special Luxord: terrain doesn’t support the strat and he has a special animation where he becomes a card for a split second before jumping away. Demyx: In theory it is possible, you just have to get past the water clone phases. He does these guaranteed and they are not negotiable. Problem is that the walls of this arena aren’t flat. So, as you saw in the video, he retaliated when he touched the walls. Axel: Obviously possible from the video, you just have to use the RC to get rid of the lava floor. Saïx: Is possible and you can even stop his berserk mode altogether. If you start the fight using the “guard break” ability, you’ll stop him from charging up the berserk meter. From there, do the strat normally. Zexion: Terrain doesn’t support it. The terrain is not flat. He’ll hit something and immediately jump away and trap you. In my mind it seems possible, but tried multiple times to no effect. Lexaeus: Possible, but not fool proof. Problem here is his HP gates. At certain HP levels he’ll automatically power up. Defend until you find an opening, rinse, repeat. Vexen: Works but not fool proof. He has an HP gate like Lexaeus where he’ll automatically do a DM. If you survive it, he’ll summon an anti-Sora. Destroy it like you did in the video, rinse, repeat, win. Xaldin: His movement doesn’t support it. He’s always floating in the air, so he doesn’t go into damage wobble. Xigbar: Won’t work. He’s always upside down, and in the air, so he’ll always know to retaliate. Xemnas 1: Terrain doesn’t support it. He’s got a special animation where he puts himself in a cocoon like thing. Xemnas 2: won’t work. He’s always in the air, so he’ll always know to retaliate.
Are we just gonna ignore how final form reflect may actually be better than wisdom fire for dealing with water clones? It doesn't take much MP,has good range, and also takes out the clones in 1 hit.
You would need Fenrir because the keyblades won't go out until the final hit. Spamming fire wisdom makes you slide around and it has a larger hotboxes to guarantee a hit Edit: it will stay in Fenrir cheese anyways
Eh for me that's not true. I can't stand using that reflect thing unless I'm in my normal state. I never get the timing down right. Its a lot easier for me to transform into my final form and spam fire instead. However I noticed that the reflect thing doesn't use that much me so it's not a bad idea altogether. Its just not for me.
It really isn't better, Final costs 5 drive bars. The mp isn't a problem since you can use ethers and those are reflect finishers because of double negative combo so it wouldn't even work at lvl 1 or without Fenrir in general and using Fenrir on bosses if you aren't trying to cheese them isn't worth it. Duck Flare is the best way technically.
@@jR0xas Duck Flare/Magnega. But Final Form Reflega is still viable and preferable here... higher radius of damage, they clearly have Fenrir for the Data fights, (not the original fights) and Fire finishers don't hit as hard/multiple times like Reflega does.
I was iffy on the Negative Combo Plus ability for this Keyblade until I was told a while ago it lets you access your Finisher earlier. I have clue if I'll actually try this myself, but it is pretty nice. Also, I find it interesting how Demyx still puts up quite a fight.
@@ProbablyAlmondIt's more so that the game would be actively punishing you for making a mistake rather than difficulty. Difficult games balance their difficulty with having a way for players to correct an error. Dark Souls, as notoriously difficult as it is, has flasks for example.
@@zjuraeventide8949 The game DOES punish you all the time MP is completely taken away for a reason, just because it's not instant death doesn't mean you aren't punished
Im ngl I was basically doing this in vanilla PS2 version. But as a casual and having no idea about the combat system. Was SO fucking fun Glad to see my inner mash X ape brain IS a viable playstyle. And can look entertaining too
Cloud and Leon(Squall): Renzokuken? OmniSlash? What is this monstrosity!? Also: What Marluxia really said to Sora before the fight was that he ate his mother's dinner that Sora was supposed to eat the night him, Riku, and Kairi went missing.
@@Tsukiru Oh man, I remember the "Snake doesn't belong with nintendo" arguments when Sm4sh came out. Now that there are guides on Kazuya coming out, I don't think I want to play him now. Plus I played against campy fox/falco players when trying him. They must not like him getting close. I am too busy looking up ways to possibly play dragon quest IX with Hamachi to be disappointed. I see that a group plays metal gear solid portable ops+ On discord. I just don't get why Hamachi doesn't work with a NDS emulator for DQIX. Now it's down to the wire, because so many characters wanted in Smash now only have one slot left. Not sure if Sakurai-San has another DLC pack coming after this.
devs: yeah these are going to be hardest bosses of their entire lifes, they are gonna need a lot of experience, practice and- the players: jump hit jump hit jump hit jump hit jump hit
@BreadSticksSansUndertaleIt's not what they say, it's more how they act towards similar games. Take KH3 for example. They're quicker to point out the flaws while letting their KH2 bias shine often exaggerating 3's flaws. My point is people act like this game is a masterpiece when there're a TON of design flaws that 1 and 3 don't have. Yeah, no game is perfect but there's a strong case 3 and 1 have better design choices even regarding the combat. Not only are they more streamlined so it's easier to learn, but they retain a highish skill ceiling to master where most of your choices matter. Sure, 3 isn't balanced when you compare your arsenal to the enemies but when it comes to your options, not one set of strats trumps another whereas in 2 and 2FM, it's melee and RC the whole time with magic mostly being situational by comparison to melee especially since MP is much more limited compared to 3.😂 Hell, I would even argue that just because 3 is easy, that's more due to less BS. My experience with 2 was completely frustrating mostly with the game poorly communicating to me how a large number of the new mechanics worked. If I had the option to learn and practice each thing in a controlled environment with better wording in the info box, I might've had a more fun experience instead of the game treating me like an idiot with beginner traps. (No, Beginner mode isn't THE solution to poor design.) Not to mention, bad RNG made it really annoying to implement any real tactic even those the community deemed optimal. No matter how I tried to improve, the game would screw me over. That aside, there's the hidden anti-form mechanics, the lack of being able to use items mid air for some reason, the over powered nature of Limits, the fact bosses require finishers to be beaten meaning they can snatch victory from you if you were caught off guard. Like, there's a ton of issues no one calls 2FM out on legitimately. No one is critical enough when looking at it. And, yet anything like 3 or anything that's not 2 gets dunked on continuously and unfairly. Sorry for the rant but I needed to call the 2 and 2FM community on their bullshit. Do I hate 2FM? Not at all. It's fine enough for a game but it needs more scrutiny and objectivity from the KH community especially the 2 fanboys.
Genuinely sorry to ruin the joke, but Berserk Charge disables Finishers whilst the MP Gague is re-charging, making it a self-inflicted debuff in this very specific situation.
Here's something i did with xemmnas 1. When he uses his guard, you can use guard break to launch him. Though he'll only take two bonks before retaliating. If you mess up, i just use trinity as it can launh him as well and also set up for bonks.
I’m surprised you could actually make this strategy work for every Organisation member, I thought the way some battles had to be fought were designed to prevent the Fenrir stun trick in the first place.
It took a lot of practice. For some bosses it worked but for others I couldnt manage. It worked at first but they break out the revenge value so I couldnt kill them fast
@@OmegaRedFanI'm pretty sure there's no need. There's one way to make sure Kingdom Key deals more damage than the Fenrir use in the video, and that's farming Power Boosts through specific Data Org. fights or adding Serenity Crystals when synthysizing Defence Boosts.
"There's no fun in this..." Boy wasn't he right. He was the Most difficult organization member for me to complete. I was surprised when it only took me a few attempts to beat Xemnas in comparison too this guy.
Is the cheese literally take off every combo mod and combo plus not to mention add on the ability + Fenrirs negative combo? If so then I know what I’m gonna do for a challenge for this game
I remember getting stuck on Demyx in the original KH2. But that was before I knew that a game like this required things like equipping tools and armor and leveling up your character. Me being Autistic and not having gained a fine grasp on reading until age 12 may have played a part. But I eventually got to where I can get through these games with no issue.
i love it when you beat a desperation move that ends with them on one hp because of he following moment of you charging them full force and BONKING them is always hilarious
