Yup me too but it turned into 20 years on the patches, morphine etc. Now finally clean from them....took me several years of active trying, weening down and not fun but can be done...I'm proof 😂❤

@@Marleyandme290 the road to addiction was paved with loss after loss. An abusive relationship then my father was killed in an accident then the guys kept coming. As soon as someone would say ‘well it can’t get any worse’ it did. The did to recovery took more than a few tries. The first couple times it was to get a clean urine screen. The last time was my choice and I checked into a psych hospital. One of the doctors saw how bad I was and referred me to his associate in private practice. Been there ever since. Therapy, psych meds and consistency. The one on one therapy was exactly what I needed. In groups I’d just meet more partners in crime. Actually ditched my phone and phone numbers which helped to keep me from making calls those first 6 months. My therapist was an angel. I had to deal with the grief and loss I had been numbing. I really didn’t think therapy was gonna work and that they’d forget what I said but that wasn’t the case at all. She helped me retrain my brain and figure out how to control the things I could and how to let go of the things I couldn’t. Got my license back, eventually a part time job and rebuilt relationships and am now off most of the psych meds too. It really is a journey. There are programs that will work and the one that found me was a blessing and I’d like to think my choice to truly try brought it to me as well. I couldn’t do one more detox. Thankfully I never have since either.
