I love that you do reviews without any filter. It drives me crazy when creators use face filters with their reviews because I want to see what products really looks like.
I love that. I thought it was my age... which still may be a part of it...but the days are just days...even though I am still working. My new word! “Blursday” 😃
And, hope its not age. I was speaking to my daughter and i thought Thursday was actually Tuesday, and during our conversations she said mum your babbling a bit. I call it COVID babbles now. It’s definitely a year indoors without a proper routine. My excuse but perhaps it’s age 😬
How applicable..I love that word! My honey and I had a blood draw appointment but when we got to the doctor's office it was closed. They're relocating so we went there next..also closed. I called. Yep..closed. Pulled up my phone's calendar and realized not only was it a Sunday but our appointment was Tuesday and not the Monday I thought it was. Tom was a good sport about it..it's usually him that gets the day wrong this past year so we had a good laugh. 😄
@@patkern185 Love it! I am enjoying your goof up! But it’s so true...the days just blend one into another!!! Will we ever be the same? Have a Happy Easter🐰. FYI: It’s this Sunday! 😉😂🐣
I ordered this foundation and loved it. It’s going to be my daily foundation. I’m 42 with dry-combination skin that has some texture around my chin and nose. Usually, I have Botox and fillers, but I haven’t had any in some time. This foundation is lightweight and doesn’t settle into my creases! Thank you RiRi. 5 stars.
I’ve learned a trick with dealing with the extra dry skin moments....try adding a drop of serum to the bit of skin tint or foundation and it makes things a dream or at least a better application and wear. Has saved a ton of money not trying to buy yet another product.
In my opinion, Hydromaniac looks much better on dry skin. It doesn't exaggerate texture or dry areas. I am a little bit disappointed with Eaze drop :(...
Just got some and it’s nice and certainly blurring, I will wear it thinly I think because I don’t care for a thicker makeup. It’s also Matt. I prefer a more dewy makeup however winter is coming soon and it may be nicer. Feels smoothing and nice on the skin. I tried it today without any my skincare so I will be trying tomorrow with my skincare routine.
Thank you!! I almost bought it as soon as I saw it on you initially cus you looked AMAZING! But you have saved me 25quid - I have dry patches and definitely wouldn't be able to cope with anything looking like that on me!!
Thank you! I definitely plan on trying this. I live in the southeast U.S., and with our hot & humid summer coming up, I need something lightweight and sweat & humidity resistant.
Thanks for the thorough review..it looks great on you. My skin is too dry right now for this skin tint but would probably work when Summer arrives. You look lovely as always! Happy Easter! XXOO❤❤
I got mine yesterday. Most of the reviews I’ve watched where the ladies have my skin tone have ordered shade 4 and I ordered 6. But its so thin in consistency that I got away with it being darker and its fine. I have pretty normal skin, but I am 64, so have some lines under my eyes, some pores but mostly it’s ok. I think this is a mature ladies dream. I love it. It blurs and evens. Its not heavy at all, and feels like nothing is on the skin. Its not tacky. Someone said below thank you RiRi. I’d say the same, bless you RiRi, for incorporating all types of ages, skin and shades in your range. Tbh there is nothing from Fenty I haven’t enjoyed. The powder foundation is brilliant, eye primer is fantastic. Dry patches aside it did look good overall on you I have to say.
Really am happy you've reviewed this product. I can't makeup my mind if to go for this or the FENTY powder foundation 😬 I'm not oily but have a very few patches of dryness thanks to Tret 💞
Excellent review! Thanks to your being the close-up queen, I understand what you mean about the dry area texture. My skin dehydrates quickly and sometines peels due to Tretinoin- probabky not the one for me. Your final look is *gorgeous*!
Sooooooo, i can scratch this of my list to try-out 😳 i have a lot of face products that perform a whole lot better than this, without all the needs of other products or my skin to behave a certain way. I think a tint or foundation is great, when it performs no matter what and hides how my skin is behaving. There are lot of those, high end and drugstore. This is too finicky and a no for me. Thank you for this! You are the best! 💋
I had the exact same experience as you Gemma and I am definitely your skin type and shade twin! I do find it looks nicer during the day. I have been using the Charlotte tilbury airbrush flawless finish powder very lightly over the top and I do think it’s made a difference! Maybe something to try xx
I can't wait to try this. I have been wanting something light weight that doesn't cake, crease or look or feel thick or heavy. The fact that it doesnt transfer is another bonus. Thank you for this review, I will definitely getting some & giving it a go.
Thank you so much! I've been waiting to hear about this! So glad it doesn't sink into fine lines. My mature skin might really get along well with this!
Woohoo, first time I have been the first to comment lol! I was just thinking why don’t they bring out a foundation with all the traits of this product! You read my mind Fenty!!
Ok Gemma, how on earth do you look so fabulous after 9 hours?!!!!! Oh yes, foundation/skin tint - this looks gorgeous and I love how easy it was to apply. I might mix in a drop of face oil, just to help it along and not emphasise my dry bits. The packaging is great too, perfect for any travel we, hopefully, make 🤞🤞 Btw, I love your top, 😊. 💗💜💗💜💗 PS : Just a heads up, when you're finalising your insurance "stuff", please, please don't forget to include the fee for the electricity used. Those dehydrating machines use an awful lot of juice - which you ought not have to pay for. I hope everything is going ok and you're all managing to get through the enormous upheaval, 😘😘
Thanks for the honest review Gemma! I'm definitely still interested in this, but I don't think I'm going to rush out to buy it right now. Once I get through some other products I might give it a try
I would apply it with a cushion puff, because I don't like putting makeup with my fingers. But it looks great on you, I am going to try as I get younger 58, I been staying away from heavy makeup. Thank you fro the review ❤❤❤
First!! Im waiting for my Sephora order with THIS in it! Oh my word, I'm exited!!! Give it to us Gemma!!!✌❤from the U.S.! Update: This will be great in the Southern U.S. summers on me!! Im dry as the desert in winter but my skin LOVES the humidity of the summers here. Im 55 and use retinA but I'm acclimated for 3 years now. Only get really dry and flaky every 8-12 weeks now when my skin peels!!
Hi, I hope you don’t mind me asking what you do when you’re peeling. I’m not sure which is the best way to handle this issue, do you just let it peel off at its own pace or do you assist it? I currently use my oil cleanser and give my skin a very gentle massage over a couple of days, and I am not sure if that is the correct thing to do. Stay healthy, safe and sane from Australia 😊
Thanks Gemma. I wear 120 in the powder foundation like you and I think they suggest that 1 is a match rather than 2 when they cross match the pro filter with the skin tint, but clearly 2 is a much better match for you and therefore me too. I am concerned about it clinging to dryness though.
Ive definitely been very into light coverages and bb creams. honestly its been making me look so much better than full coverage foundations which i think ive needed to find out since being on tretinoin as my skins not flaky but its definitely needed some re adjustments
Hello! New sub here! Thanks for your view on this. Mines coming in the mail tomorrow & I've seen some younger youtubers not like the results of this product. Thank Goodness I found you. I'm an over 35 fair lady with a very similar complexion as yours & dry /normal . 💜💜💜💜
I only have a bit of dryness where I've been blitzing my large sunspot, so I'm going to try this as I realy need a new foundation and did want a skin tint or good cc cream for summer, well al the time as I dont wear makeup often so wouldn't spend alot on it. Thankyou for the review, I'm going to try it and if its bad on my sunspot I'll just wait awhile as I do stop and start because of the dryness. Not vain just practical. As always stay safe xx 😘❤
Yay- I’m super excited to try this! I have normal to dry skin with no real dry patches🤞. Speaking of skin tints.....today I tried the new Milani skin tint and 👍👍👍. Wow! And we are in the middle of move day so my day was long and physically busy and included 2 windy walks with our pup and Milani held up beautifully! And my skin looked gorgeous- just really fresh and skin like. “Wait -is she even wearing foundation or is that just her skin???.....hmmmm” 😉 Thanks for the in depth review ☺️ Xo Tammy 🇨🇦
@@rorblmbo hi Jenny! It’s called Milani Glow Hydrating Skin Tint:) The only powder I ever use on my face is a finishing powder at the very end of my makeup application - HourGlass ambient lighting powder in Dim Light. I am truly loving this new Milani! Hope this helps☺️
Thank you for the review on the foundation. I wasn't sure whether or not to purchase this after seeing this I really do wish it was more hydrating than what it is so I think I will not be picking this up
I had high hopes for this one, but my skin is sooo dry 🙄☹️. I'm searching for a transfer resistent product, but I guess I have to keep looking. Too bad! Your lashes are always great, but in this video they are extra-special-super beautiful. New mascara? Love, hugs and kisses 😘
Great review! I bought this in the Sephora sale and found it too finicky. I returned it. I found the same issue as you did. I am almost 65 (dry/dehydrated and, yes, of course I hydrate and moisturize) and use a non-prescription “gentle” retinol just a few times per week and I get dry, scaly, peeling patches occasionally. If that were the only problem I might have kept it but I found it overall difficult to blend AND it also accentuated the texture of some of my more prominent age spots. At my age, I just don’t have the patience for finicky! 🤣. I think I expected it to be like a less dewy version of the Ilia Skin Tint, but it is way way different than that!
Unfortunately it didn’t work for me :( I have combi skin but very dehydrated on my nose an between the eyebrows, so this emphasizes all the dryness, I can’t seem to make it work at all. I’m happy you could still make it work somehow ❤️ I find that the Sleek Vitality Foundation is pretty much a dupe, but better!!
@emi oh I’m so sorry, love :( I know how you feel, most of the times the overhyped products look awful on me. For some reason I love the Nars Soft Matte, but for example the Fenty foundations look horror, the Urban Decay ones as well, and I could go on...But you know how they say, you have to kiss a few frogs to find the prince, so I think that with foundations it’s pretty much the same. Let’s be honest, it’s pretty fun to test foundations once in a while, even if some don’t work for us!
@emi fingers crossed for the Clinique one 🤞🏻I was thinking about it too, but somehow forgot about it haha. And I feel ya, I also buy too many foundations and end up being disappointed by most of them. But it is what it is, foundations will always be my guilty pleasures
Thank you so much for the honest review with natural lighting! its a shame it clinged on to the dry patches, it also looked liked the formula split slightly too! I use the pro filt'r foundation and I have dry skin also and the finish is not bad I also tried the hydrating foundation and funny enough the hydrating formula clung on to my dry patches more so! so I am abit worried if this Eaze drop will do the same too! I do want a better foundation for my dry skin though! x
Hi Gemma I have dry skin, but no flakiness etc. Since it wasn't mentioned I assume there is no primer underneath? If not then a hydrating primer may well fix the issues. Despite being dry at 49 with rosacea I have visible pores in the butterfly area, so not having to powder it and it not sinking into pores sounds like a win. i'm thinking it may be worth trying for the warmer months. Also £25 is not too OTT and as I'm paler than you the No 1 might work. All in all this was helpful, as it hadn't been on my radar. I'm not a powder foundation person tbh, although I sometimes use them (LG balance n brighten in porcelain) over a sheer coverage tinted moisturiser (as more of a powder with a bit of coverage). This launch is more of interest to me personally. It looked really good (apart from the textured area around the mouth/chin) and especially on the forehead/between the brows (between the brows is usually a problem area). Many thanks. x
I just ordered it and am very excited to get it. I also ordered the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perdector.. tyx for the video and feedback, I needed it..
@@brooke3140 the laura Mercier I still use, but I did not like the Fenty drops. I gave them to my 27 yr old daughter and they didnt work for her either.
Thank you so much for this review. I'm not completely sold yet, though. I love a skin tint, but anything that catches to dry spots is a no no. And there's always MAC Face and Body, isn't there?
I bought this on your recommendation...good match...but since I started tretinoin-this is awful on my dry skin. Patchy out of control!!! I’m using all the moistures.
Hey Gemma! Love your videos! I'm your foundation shade twin and I always look for your videos whenever I am interested in a new foundation! I am also kind of your skin type twin so your reviews are gold to me! So I wanna ask you a question: how do you deal with using mineral spf under foundation? I can't get foundation to blend nicely over mineral spf, it always seems to stick to dry patches or sink into my pores! XO
Despite emphasizing the dryness, this performs really well! I am impressed - I am looking for some lighter base now that I work from home and have lots of Teams meetings. I am thinking about this one or Purito Cica clearing BB cream hmmm :} Anyway, what mascara have you used? Your eyes look absolutely gorgeous and those lashes
Although Fenty beauty has a great shade range, I don't like their foundation. I have oily skin and used the range specially for oily skin. It emphasized my pores tremendously, even ones that I never knew I had. The formula needs to be changed. Estee Lauder is still the best.
i wonder how this compares to the original Fenty foundation. i have one and love it, best skintone match ive ever found too, but i want something with less coverage now actually.
Thank you for your review. I suffer with very dry skin all over my face and I am struggling to find a good liquid foundation. I use bare minerals powder foundation. Would you recommend a liquid foundation?
because of the lockdown I have been trying the foundation finder on Temptalia and others and I wonder what you think of the accuracy of these tools? Can I trust the shades they suggest?thanks
I’m new to any kind of foundation and I find it falls noticeably into my pores. I use a very light sunscreen and primer prior to application and allow them both to settle in first. Is there anything different I should be doing?
