"Stand by my hand, Fergus. Son of my name and of my heart."
Happy Father's Day yesterday! Just like Young Ian who has Jamie's honour, Fergus has his loyalty. This is a short video, but like Young Ian's character, their character arc is not quite round yet. I like to give the minor character's some videos considering its mostly Jamie & Claire on RU-vid haha. I hope César has more screentime in the future seasons so he can have his chance to shine as the Younger Fergus actor Roman did. Enjoy!

Fergus was a big part of jaime and claire. It would be great to see Fergus playing a bigger role with the Frazer clan. He was so close to jaime and claire in Paris. He was quite loyal to jaime and claire.

me too. He should be given some responsibility at the ridge when Claire and Jamie are away. NOT always Roger. Roger is the son in law, but Fergus is the son

@@signehoumller4226I completely agree, though I understand why Roger is given a lot of responsibility since he was named captain in his militia where as Fergus was only there by Jamie’s insistence since he wouldn’t otherwise be considered able bodied missing a hand. Jamie knew the main residents respected Fergus and would have followed his orders while he was away, but Fergus was going through his misguided guilt after the attack and drinking heavily, making him less respectable to the new tenants as well as the negativity surrounding wee Henri-Christian, so he left things to Roger. Jamie leaving Fergus to run the still was also a huge responsibility as the whiskey is the Ridge’s most valuable trading commodity and source of income.

@@RMFilmStudios In the books it seems that Bree had more of a relationship with Cousin Ian than with Fergus. Might be because Fergus is much older than Brianna while Cousin Ian is closer in age? I would like to see Fergus & Bree have more of a relationship on the show. Love Fergus & Marsali!

This character is so underutilized in the recent 2 seasons. He is one of the very few characters remained with Jamie and Claire since their youth. As a kid he was agile, street smart, witty and adorable. Now he doesn't have any dialogues. He just stands next to Jamie or Marsali. We NEED more Fergus!

Excellent actors! Both young and adult. I feel he was short changed. Why not take advantage of the wonderful skills of these two people. Young Fergus is an absolutely gorgeous boy and adult Fergus is eye candy but it's their acting skills that set them apart from other young actors.

I was hoping to see a bond between Bri and Fergus. He is Jamie and Claire's adopted son after all.. besides remember how sweet was Fergus in taking care of Claire when she lost her 1st baby? This character needs a proper arc

I’d also love to see more of their interactions, but they don’t have much in common other than being Jamie and Claire’s children and their experience with them as parents has been very different. Fergus experiencing them as a pickpocketing orphan at age 9 first as lord and lady, then as parents, whom he is was with through the trials and manipulations of Paris, then peace on a farm with family, and then war before losing them both for 20 years. Brianna experienced them as parents together when she was already 21, married, and with a child on the way. However, Fergus and Marsali are very close with Roger and Brianna as couples. Roger and Fergus are like brothers and are around the same age and have lived more in the world than Brianna and Marsali who become like sisters and around the same much younger age with many shared experiences. Fergus and Brianna are both parents of kids around the same age, but Brianna and Marsali are more likely to talk about that than Fergus, so there isn’t really much for them to talk about directly.

Fergus definitely one of the characters that made us fall for outlander series! And while he is looking up at Jamie as father figure and admires Claire, but Jenny is the one who is more like mother to him I think. Fergus spent couple years with Claire, but almost all those 20 after-at Lallybroch

Fergus, A favourite character, to say it was his first time casting in English he did a splendid job, I smiled when he called Jamie ‘A Dirty English B..... and Jamie Replied ‘Quote’ I’m A Dirty Scottish B.....! You have Captured ‘The Best of The Best’ RM. Like ‘Stand by my Hand’ and the proud moment Jamie called Fergus Son of my Name, and of my Heart 💓 Fergus, Claudel, Fraser, and, parting shot! ‘Kill Them All’ I believe this ‘Outlander’ Phenomenon will be an ‘Evergreen’ as will Jamie/Sam, that’s one of my quotes, I believe this to be one of your finest works to date RM. Fergus was a strong adventurous kid. I wish adult Fergus was written the same way. I think it is his lines, not the actor. It seems his role has been diminished & his story is not being told as it was in the book. 😕

Good :) He had a great upbringing in the end. You can really see Jamie's influence on Ian and Fergus and how that can stem from Murtagh in some way.

@@RMFilmStudios Yes, I am sure Jamie loved his father but he had incredible bond with Murtagh. This is his legacy. I mean Jamie loved Ian and Fergus unconditionally. He had some inhibitions towards his son-in-law though😉. The shaving scene touches my heart deeply. It is due to a fond memory of my granddad doing the activity with due diligence. I could watch him for hours. Loved his precision and a steady hand.

Don't forget: Fergus was also brought up by Ian and Jenny, with Young Ian as his little brother. To me, it is unnatural that Fergus hasn't asked him about what happened, what was the tragedy and that young Ian hasn't told Fergus about his great sorrow. Why wld Ian tell Roger, and not his companion from childhood?

Two brilliant actors for playing Fergus. My two favourite scene was after Claire lost Faith and tried to comfort Fergus when he was having a bad dream after what happened to Jamie and BJR. Very brave for Fergus to tell his mum the whole truth. Jamie gave Fergus’s real name at his and Marsail’s wedding which melted my heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️. I love Jamie who love his son Fergus so much ❤️❤️❤️

i love his character. I hope that in the sixth season he will take on more protagonist, at least as much as it had in the second season. If I'm not mistaken Marsali is pregnant with the fourth child ... and whoever has read the books knows what happens to the fourth son of fergus, poor baby😢 I really want this to happen, even if it's a bad thing, to make Fergus a little more protagonist. (I'm sorry if i wrote something wrong, i'm not english...and i tried😹 )

SPOILER @@rowanaforrest9792 Yes, Germain, Joan and Felicite will be fine, Henri-Christian instead will be born a dwarf, and many people will "blame" Fergus and Marsali, for this they will often be attacked. Fergus will attempt to commit suicide, stopped by Jamie, because he feels unable to protect his family. Later, however, they will move to Philadelphia where first Henri-Christian will get sick but will be treated by Claire, and then at the age of four if I'm not mistaken, he will be killed in a fire. We are waiting for good blows. 😢😢

This edit is just...magnificent. And I thank the person who made it with all my heart. I've loved Fergus the minute I saw him. He was always a perfect heir for Jaime and Claire. Their true son. Even if he didn't share their blood. PS: Also, we have an emergency my dear, fellow Fergus lovers. I was searching for a Fergus x reader on Wattpad, and I didn't find a single one in the whole English catalog. Which made me realize that Fergus does not get enough recognition and gratitude on the internet. This *HAS* to change. Ok I really need it catch up! Like always I'll watch from the beginning. It took awhile to first start watching when it aired, my recommender loves everything & kinda sucks at telling the story.
