FERIA DE MANIZALES is a pasodoble with lyrics by the poet Guillermo González and music by the Valencian born in Catarroja and representative of the Banda El Empastre Juan Marí Asins dedicated to the most important fair in the Americas with musical shows, exhibitions, concerts and runs of oxen that is celebrated every year in the Colombian city of Manizales.
While the band "El Empastre" was performing in Bogotá, they proposed to Asins to put music to the poem. He accepted the challenge and for three days he locked himself in the infirmary of the bullring, where the band's instruments were kept, and began to look for the first notes in the pasodoble which was premiered in 1957 and is by decree since 1978 the anthem of the Fair. The Feria de Manizales has Spanish roots and is inspired by the Feria de Abril in Seville.
The Algemesí Symphony Band performs the pasodoble "Feria de Manizales" by Juan Marí Asíns, in the Pasodobles Concert held on September 25, 2021 in the Salvador Castell d'Algemesí Park.
