Heartbreak for Ferrari fans. Congratulations to Red Bull and our youngest ever World Champion, Sebastian Vettel Book 2011 Formula 1 tickets here: www.bookf1.com/...
That was the 4th consecutive year he didn’t get the championship… he is now a master at it 😂. Joking apart, he did talk very eloquently and without blaming others. That’s the way it should be.
1:28 "He protect like it was the last lap in the last race and both fighting for the championship" 😂😂 I remember in Adrian Newey's book he also said that Petrov drove the "defensive drive of his life." Poor Alonso
... and? It was in Renault's and Red Bull's best interest Vettel wins the title. It was a perfectly normal thing to do. Petrov raced clean, didnt make any dirty or illegal moves. Alonso couldn't get past. Shit happens.
@@RidleyPhantom Bogdan Rus has written a perfectly reasonable and correct assessment of the race and Renault-Red Bull relationship. But why are you so upset? - That's the question
im not a huge fan of alonso, but i have to respect and appreciate the talent of him- easily one of the best in the world... anyway my point is this, i loved him waving at petrov, it shows the passion and desire that he has about what he does and i wish there was more shown from other drivers!
For me Alonso's time at Ferrari was golden. He suited the team and the team suited him. I don't think there has been a season when a driver came so close with his ability over the performance of the car!
I used to think he was an asshole but in this interview Alonso is a class act. If I had lost a championship like that I would have killed somebody... I don't know why I couldn't see it before 2010 but Fernando is such a nice guy. I really hope he earns that 3rd championship in the future.

Great video! He's an amazing driver and a great personality.Alonso is calm even if he lost the championship the last moment. He knows also to lose.If that was Vettel, the camera would probably be broken before the interview. And for those who say that Vettel is better, place ,for first, Vettel in an equal car with Alonso's and the make a comparison.
Too bad Fernando...5 years with Ferrari, without any championships, while Kimi managed to get it on his 1st year with the team ;) He better hope for brighter future with Mclaren, would be quite hilarious if it would turn out that Ferrari is able to bounce back up in the next 2 season, while Mclaren could struggle with Honda's power-unit ;D
You sir, are a complete fool. Raikkonen: 53 Points, Alonso: 157 Points with a car that isn't even capable of getting into Q3. Raikkonens average Position: 9.12, Alonsos average Position: 5.19. Raikkonen was lucky enough to win the championship with a car that was good, comparing it to the present-day car. Alonso makes Raikkonen look stupid, I mean just look at it, Raikkonen managed to get in front of Alonso 2 times, while Alonso beat Raikkonen 16 times... Ferrari won't be able to bounce back so easily, Alonso knows what he is doing.. Unlike you, who obviously knows nothing about F1 at all ;)
ToCGambler Well what I DO know is that Kimi is still Ferrari's latest champion, Alonso isnt and NEVER will be ;D. Also Alonso had his chances in 2010 and 2012 and both times lost his chances...first in 2010 in Abu Dabhi, he couldnt even pass a rookie like Petrov and 2012 he screwed it up at Suzuka where he made stupid aggresive move against Kimi at the start (although admittedly had not Grosjean created mass-crash in Spa, Alonso would still have won the championship) Just like Kimi, I couldnt care less if Alonso is 5th in the championship and Kimi 11th, the only thing that matters is the winning of races and championships ;) And ofcourse it wont be easy, but now with James Allison leading the car design and Kimi and Vettel having same preferences and same kind of driving style, I see that Ferrari is going to get quite bit better results next season and improve much more than Mclaren atleast on the short term....Honda is going to play catch up with the engine development, although who knows, maybe they know what Mercedes did better than the other and are able to copy that.
Jerry Anthony Well im always going to remember Alonso from his year at Mclaren 2007, Singapore crashgate 2008, and Germany 2010....and Im never going to forget how he screwed up his chanes for championship both in 2010 and 2012 xD...wathcing him being angry at Petrov after this race and his empty look after Brazil 2012... i.imgur.com/qaSJMG4.gif Ah, Im always going to remember those times with such joy xD....5 years at Ferrari and 0 championships..and many years from now when ppl go visit Ferrari world at Abu Dabhi, Kimi's name will forever be there among the names other of Ferrari champion's, but Alonso never got his name added there ;) And lets see who is going to have the last laugh if it turns out that Ferrari would be able to improve significantly during the next years and Mclaren would struggle with their Honda power-unit ;)
Unluckily I have to destroy your hopes of Ferrari bouncing back fast, they said that they won't get back within 2 years time... I think they know what they're saying, well atleast better than you know. If Alonso can't get Ferrari back to the old glory, nobody can... No Vettel, no Raikkonen, no Hamilton. How many championships did you win in your F1 career so far? Oh wait.... You should've respect towards those, who are better drivers than you, have more potential, can make a living from your entertainment, and finally those who were successful enough, to get to F1, unlike you. It's nonsense to answer on further comments, you'll probably mention things that I don't really care about anyways. Anyway, have fun being the little wanna-be on youtube ;) Bye Bye! Please note: referring to your answer on Jerry Anthony
ToCGambler Well I think its unlikely that anyone can challenge Mercedes for the championship atleast during 2015...In my understanding Ferrari has set their goal for 2016. But ye, I dont expect Ferrari to be back on very top right away, but I do expect them do better than Mclaren in short term....could be wrong ofcourse, only time will tell. Overall I think its entirely possible that neither Kimi or Alonso will win any more championships during their careers, but this was propably the best time for Alonso to leave Ferrari, while for Kimi it was unfortunate that he came to the team propably at the worst possible time and could retire before Ferrari has even chance of fighting for the championships again. And ye, sry about that, I DO respect Alonso as great racing driver, but as a person he represents that kind of extremely self-centered, almost narsistic personality that I personally hate. So ye, lets just leave it to that.
In Turkey they told him: "good pressure on Petrov he won't keep it 4 too long" , and in Abu Dhabi "use all your talent to pass him". Funny how things change.
Dear Fernando, please stay at Renault for 2007 and 2008. Than join Red Bull, yes the energy drink producer. Stay there until the end of 2013. In 2014 the hybrid era will start. Join Mercedes, they are doing R&D for this quite a time. In 2015 McLaren will reunite with Honda, I know Senna was your hero BUT stay at Mercedes! You would regret joining McLaren. Stay at Mercedes until 2021 and retire. You would be the most successful driver of all time and now could go for your other passions in motor racing like Indy 500, WEC and Dakar. I hope you will notice my advice. Best wishes and good luck champ!
So in order for Alonso to be a chambion he must be on a dominant car but fot others that's a weakness?? The hypocrisy is strong here. Also if he joined Mercedes he has to fight a superior driver so in Mercedes he will end up 2nd at best.
Well, everybody knows how difficult it is to overtake Petrov. As for Austin, this strategy was proved to be the right one. If you had seen the start , all the cars at the dirty side of the track lost almost two positions, while Alonso did an amazing start,by 7th to 4th.And in the end, the result was: Alonso/3rd | Massa/4th.What is more, a team has a reason to be named TEAM!!If ,for example , if Massa would hunt for the drivers title and Alonso was in Massa's current position, he would have done
@Flyderry thank you for not joining with this absurd campaign of hatred directed towards Alonso.People in here are so intolerant, what they expected Fernando to do,just after he lost? The guy was very emotional and he showed it.This place is full of robots, for what I can see,not feelings whatsoever.Regards.
Fernando las den Kopf nicht hängen ,das nächste Jahr kommt und da werdet ihr wieder um den Titel mitfahren und ihn hoffentlich auch holen ! Klasse Formel 1 Jahr ! Danke !
@beallhigh26 I never said that, his reaction was very emotional, that's the way he felt just after he lost, and he showed it.I can't see anything wrong, don't understand the hatred.
@nederlandsepizza It's not about the track it's about how fast things in F1 change. The situation (and the Renault car) in turkey was totally different than in Abu Dhabi. Petrov had a good race and with the f-duct he was just to quick 4 Alonso on the straights.
This poor guy has lost his edge long ago and couldn't even win championship for Ferrari in 5 FUCKING years. Good drivers develop the car, like Schumacher.
Dimitris AlonsoFerrari Yes, beating kimi in a car designed for ALONSO, a guy that has an exactly OPPOSITE, motherfucker, OPPOSITE FUCKING DRIVING STYLE THAN KIMI. No, not mad, since i know next year Kimi will hopefully show he isn't too old, like some bad memory people have proposed.
FinSituation You know that there's a 94 point-difference between them, right? A different car cannot turn around a 94 point-difference. 10-20 point-difference = yes ok, but 94 point-difference = no, it can't. Alonso is simply better..... LOL, Kimi fanboys are still crying.....
In Turkey they told him: "good pressure on Petrov he won't keep it 4 too long" , and i Abu Dhabi "use all your talent to pass him". Funny how things change.
he made i it look like that for the cameras but in the end theres clearly only one finger pointed to vitaly, which is a really low shot. and yes,i saw the race just like i saw singapore 08 and hungary 07.
I am Spanish. Best Car is RB, but best driver IMO is Alonso. He achieved to be leader until last race with the 2nd/3rd car. You just need to see how many points has Massa in comparison with him, and do the same between Vettel/Webber or Hamilton/Button. Vettel and Hamilton are also huge drivers and I respect them. All of you that only see the skills of your favourite driver are fanatics and your opinion as Formula 1 fans is Useless. Congrats Red Bull & Vettel.
@SUGARPOP73 I agree with you..too many people think they have something personal with him...and they simply see what they want to see in everything he does or says. I don't get it and I don't like it.. every other drivers in his situation would be soo emotional, so frustrated...but when he does, he's to blame. no words..
that was his Point people become aggressive and act insulting even While loosing a in a GAME so its not Strange for a person to act not very nice after loosing world championship ..
🙃This doesn't change the fact He is the best driver to hit modern f1 and it's visible by his performances .Hamilton may be the greatest but ability wise Fernando is something else (😀Now plz don't cry about 2007 ik what happened and it happens to best).
@JhonAnim This was a joke. I don't know if you remember but a few races back, Ferrari sent a message to Felipe Massa saying "Fernando is faster than you, Can you confirm you understood that message?", meaning that he should let Fernando pass. Since Petrov didn't let him pass, he should learn how to deal with it.
@SUGARPOP73 actually i dont actively support red bull, i support 2 different drivers from 2 different teams (petrov and kobayashi), and i didnt mean to offend alonso, i actually supported him back in renault days, i just said that he was not at peak performance because of his frustration.
He said next year we try again but the Ferrari car in 2011 wasn't good enough to challenge for the Championship neither was it good enough to Challenge for Race wins. Alonso won only 1 Race in 2011 the British GP in the Wet.
@dirtyoldpriest I think his comment was fine. He gave Petrove some respect and I think he had some rights to be a bit emotional. Right after the race anyone would be disappointed loosing championship like that. But during this interview he paid respect and said few good word about Petrov's driving. My congratulations to Petrov, hope he will be resigned by reno and next year we will see few podiums with him.
He wasn't slower than Petrov, he was holding him up. And if he deserves to loose - why has he won 3 races as the only driver in 2012 wc? And where is Petrov?? IN A CATERHAM..
The reality is, even if he got past Petrov, he had Kubica ahead and also needed that position. And if Petrov was hard to pass, Kubica was gonna be a whole nother level of hard to pass. Their strategy wasn't bad, they reacted to the drivers around them, it was a combo of that + the car not being that fast in that particular race.
All Alonso haters use to be british people, brazilian, and now german people. I think that is normal, cause everybody prefer their country pilot. Anyway, Alonso is a really good driver,2 world championships, and 2 near (1 point on ´07 and 4 points on ´10). Ferrari this year hadnt a good car, and the team do it a very bad strategy in the last race. But please, dont say Alonso is a loser, cause he is very talented.
I don't think you know the 'at-the-moment' feeling when he lost... You can't get more angry at such a moment, so yeah, giving the middle finger isn't a big deal. And I only listen to what he has to say, which is in This video, because That is what matters.
He did it out of frustration, you'd do that too if you lost the way he did. It wasn't personal against Petrov. Hell Vettel did the same thing 10 times more often
@ThreeLiterV10 He is a proffesional racing driver, not a video game player, he get payed millions of dollars... he blaimed petrov for losing his title... it's his own fault, he crashed car in belgium... championship is wining in whole season, not in one last race..
I am speaking the truth, where is the evidence Alonso has talent? Alonso left McLaren because he couldn't get them to do team orders of favor him against Lewis. Like he does in every team.
What Alonso did to Petrov on the slow down lap was in bad taste. You win with respect and lose with respect. I'm sure as time goes on he will regret that. Live and learn. Congrats to Vettel by the way.
@windflasher0 lol I did watch the race. You realize that when there is a red flag, the race is stopped and there is no safety car? Vettel didn't go into the pits, they changed his tyres on the grid during the red flag. They used the opportunity to their advantage.
was a team fault,i dont know why people call him "looser"...Looser for me is sebastian vettel, with a rocket car all the year and almost loose the campionship... Alonso had the third car in the championship and almost win...Next year, champion ¡¡
Perfect exemple of somebody being overconfident ! Alonso is a great driver, but he and Ferrari thought they already had the drivers championship in the bag ,they were very pompous that weekend !
Funny how Spaniards would still appreciate the 2010 WDC outcome with Vettel winning rather than Hamilton or that Brits also appreciate Sebastian winning rather than Alonso. Look, Spain has experienced F1 Champs recently. So has Britain. Can there now be peace?
its a italian gesture for " da hell are you doing ? " and not a finger, otherwise Vitaly would have mentioned it in his interview afterwards...you would know that if you had watched that race...
es justo que no ganara solo se ha aprovechado de los accidentes de los demas si compites contra 15 y 14 se estrellan normal k ganes tu asike el segundo puesto es mas de lo que se merece
Alonso fought till the end in the 2nd maybe even the 3rd best car on the grid. If Vettel and Webber were better drivers and we KNOW the Redbulls were the class of the field they should have won the title a long time ago. As far as Massa letting him trough for a win...some guy called Shumacher did the same to him teammates for a long time. Also Montoya did the same for "the ice man" in the Mclaren, Massa and Kimi did it for each other for 2 seasons in the Ferrari. Think you know the game better?
Where no one has the courage to make a comment I will! As a fan I have the right to exert, the great Enzo Ferrari said: "The second is the first of the last" so Mr. Sunday is not just to thank- Dear, Ferrari, Fiat, Montezemolo, Marchionne Sunday, employees losers of the wall, Massa an eternal void have demonstrated to the world's inability to handle the situation in race- The only worth is Alonso- The world I take him home, smooth as oil, pure oil and winning. Maurizio Spagna
@LRShooooooooya0607 i have two things to say : 1, I agree with you , Petrov is a good driver.... but why he do that ???, he knew that Fernando the prince of asturias was batteling for the title 2, Ok it's the entire fault of ferrari, cause they copy the race of webber, and they enter Fernando earlier in the PIT 3, ONE TWO THREE VIVA FERNANDO, this year will be yours champion VAMOS CAMPEONES
@swistral1 I am not biased by nationalities, and I can't truly tell you that I can't see anything outrageous in Alonso's behavour after he just finished the race, the guy shows some anger, yes, who wouldn't?
shumacher accident could seem on porpouse. have anyone analized it? he seems to accellerate when he should have braked. i've never seen an accident like that. so suspicious. oh, yes! i saw one in singapoure, with piquet.
