As a Lewis fan obviously in the early days Fernando was someone I didn't want on the podium but since his second McLaren stint I can't help but genuinely want him to win races. Vamos Fernando Alonso!!!

Being Schumacher fan since 94, at the beginning Hamilton was one of my favourites after Kimi and Jenson while I couldn't stand Fernando but exactly as you said, since his second McLaren career my respect towards him grew massively, him, Charles, Yuki and Mick are now my main favourites while I totally lost my respect for Hamilton. And his fans are the worst by far. But you showed lot of class right now and I appreciate that there are fans like you 👍🏻 I think many share similar opinion on Fernando, while others might have had more talent nobody in his era worked harder than him, very much like Schumacher and Prost.

@@thurbine2411 for sure mainly his politics. On one side he claims he is claiming to be against racism yet he is promoting racist group. Also he is helping kids but only if they tick the skin colour box, either African or middle eastern. Also the fact that he is by many being heralded as a clean driver when he is most collision prone driver on the grid today. And his fans are not making things better. Plus he is massively overrated.

@@ducedevlstear2471 well I don’t think he is helping non white kids because he doesn’t like white people or something but when he grew up in motorsport there were very few and they still have a harder time getting to higher levels so he wants to focus on them because they have it harder.

Incredible talent, from day 1, he could make that Renault scream louder than anyone, Michael certainly had a rear mirror full of Alonso for a while until he was chasing him.

Alonso is one of the greatest f1 drivers He is the last driver to win the world championship and he didn't have the best car when he did it not like today

True. He won two championships back to back with a team that isn't the best and financially one of the weakest teams. Hamilton's achievements were not because he was a skilled driver. It was the Mercedes car that got him the championships. Honestly even Schumacher's brother could have done better with such an op car.

He was kriptonyte for michel...shame that this man have only 2 titels he was made for becoming undisputed goat of all goats in f1...his carrer Choice was very bad due to his bad manager... In his prime he was extremely arrogant he always said in his time that he Don't need car he can win with anything... He although prove that in his ferrari time...but It's harsh truth in f1 that if You're 2 sec faster than anyone if you Don't have a car You're tallents always musks... The level of driving this man prossed in his prime is insane he can one hand in a car beat anyone... 😊

Such an awkward podcast. Alonso is such a raw simple no BS talent but Jake Humphrey’s wants to dig deeper into feelings. With alonso there is no feelings. He wakes up, he drives, he wins that’s literally it.

Alonso's approach, entirely cold and linear, felt mechanized and robotic. It needed more than just a systematic chain of redundant questions about his emotions or thoughts at moments when it's very clear that he's focused on driving, coming across as overly direct. Well,. Regards

@@humono9810 I’d disagree I think he came across genuine. As in, he genuinely just deals with the task in hand, very straight and honest fella. Jake was crying on a podcast couple years ago. It’s like he wants others to admit that it’s ok to fail too. Some people just don’t fail, i for sure do, but your alonsos, kimis, verstappens just don’t. They are elite athletes.

I’m glad he asked him those questions, because it was really interesting to see inside the mind of a champion who *doesn’t* suffer from self-doubt. I think it’s hard for a lot of people to comprehend the confidence that a champion carries with him.

@@specter290they want to push the narrative that everyone doubts their abilities, even the best. Which just isn’t true. They also wanted Fernando to open up on his regrets but he doesn’t really have many. He’s very Max like. Matter of fact, to the point, a racer through and through.

Fernando Alonso-The biggest waste of talent in the history of this sport …. From 2008 on,he wether drove for an average team or he missed awesome opportunities(like Brawn GP or Red Bull Racing before Vettel coming) I m just imagining Fernando Alonso being in Vettel s place from 2009-2013 or coming into Brawn GP in 2009,securing the titles and from 2010 up to today’s times, he remained at Mercedes….i can guarantee Fernando would have won at least the same as Hamilton but I really doubt Hamilton would have done so many performances in an average car or If ever Hamilton would have stayed in f1 more than 3-4 years since 2014 regulations
