@@bakeshield2761 0 pts.. oh right, I remember now, Lewis was leading Alonso by 12 pts (equivalent to 25 pts in today’s system) at the midpoint of the season.. when both had equal reliability.. although in the first races it was Alonso who felt entitled to number 1 priority with priority strategy (giving Lewis more fuel, with the less competitive strategy).. so despite this, Lewis still schooled him.. this continued in he second half of the season until Lewis had some mysterious failures out of no where in Turkey (was on for 2nd place podium, while “amazing Alonso” was trailing in 4th) and then suddenly his tyre blew up, bringing him into the pit behind alonso having to settle for 5th. While alonso, inherited a lucky 3rd place podium. And Brazil? Gearbox failure, sending him to the back of the Grand Prix, recovering to 7th, from what would’ve likely been a 4th or 3rd place finish. And who can forget China? Lewis again on for a 2nd place podium, but the team wasn’t assertive enough with him about his tyres, much like what happened to norris in Russia, so he lost grip and went off in the pit lane. Gifting alonso another high finish. Only after these three events was alonso lucky to finish equal pts in the standings, and looking like he did better than he really did. If you need reminding of Lewis schooling him, just watch Japan 2007, he got demolished there 😉

It's not to stay out of the chaos, it was premeditated to show the limits of the current rules, that he doesn't like, because the drivers he was overtaking there were staying ahead of him by going straight. He executed his prepared machiavelic plan to perfection :)

He becomes a rottweiler when the race starts. Top 5 drivers ever in my opinion, "only" two titles are not enough to show his talent. For me, he is not as fast as Hamilton in one lap (not too far tho), but in pure racecraft, consistency and agressiveness he is a step above the rest. And obviously, he is the best making the most with the car he has (2010 and 2012 as examples. 2012 ferrari was for me NEAR to nowadays McLaren, and he managed to fight against a car 0'5-0'8s faster in qualifying). I recommend to all new fans to get information about 2005-2014 years to appreciate the mega-driver he is.

Alonso is probably the most talented driver when it comes to racing lines, specially when drivers have to work out of their confort zone. He also has a natural talent finding where the grip ends in unpredictable conditions. There are other drivers with a little bit better raw speed in short bursts but the old man has still his weapons sharp.
