Good morning ☕. Fernando is the last of the old school. He's timeless. There isn't anyone left who fits that role anymore. AJ Foyt, Mario Andretti, Earnhardt Sr, Juan Manuel Fangio are just a few who did. Alonso can take his car and beat yours and then take your car beat his.

About Honda: The big issues during the McLaren Honda time was that Honda was limited by the chassis. They could made better engine but McLaren refused to change the car around it.

An Aston Martin, Alonso combo has a pretty darn good chance of winning championships. The only thing preventing Alonso from taking a title is having a car that is capable of it. He came 4th last year against a ton of young guns whom are no joke in their own right.

People seem to think that Fernando being the age he is he’s too old to be driving in F1.. He can carry on until he feels that he’s not competitive or capable anymore.. Look at the Indy Car series..Fernando is a youngster compared with a few of them that put appearances in.. Although a Ferrari fan of 60+ years, I’ve always been an Alonso fan since he drove for Minardi.. So I’m really pleased he’s got a multi year deal.

Law, what do you think of Honda accepting Fernando signing to drive for their soon to be works partner? After their fiaso at McLaren and Alonso's highly visible criticism at the time, I wonder if there hasn't been something of an epiphany by both parties. The Honda Turnaround since then is probably worth a video of it's own, and their reunion with Alonso is going to be an amazing chapter to witness. Both parties overcoming their past relationship troubles is so impressive to me, and makes me admire them even more. I can hardly wait!

He gives me goosebumps. The epitome of living your life to the fullest. Everyone should strive to have that ambition and drive to do something everyday down to the meals you eat. We should all remember that old f1 drivers in the daaya of the 60s were the norm of 40 cause they were the only ones who could afford it. While they may not have been pulling the same g's but they were still racing crazy speeds.

This man entered f1 when I could still be in 2 places at once (before I was born). He has raced in f1 for as long as I aam alive. Fernando is still one of best drivers in the sport, and one of the most entertaining characters in formula 1. He is my favorite driver and I am so happy that he is staying, and staying at Aston (Im not a fan of merc). At this point he will probably still drive in 2082, and I am here for it!

He may have made some bad moves earlier in his career but this decision makes up for it. I'm really happy that he stayed put at Aston Martin, a happy Alonso is an Alonso that can make a car perform above its ability by using his race craft to get those extra tenths that isn't there mechanically. I really hope that they can find him a car that can challenge the top 3!

As someone who discover fernando in 2000s during Schumacher domination and when he was the one who ended the Red Baron's unbeatable Reign, am glad to see that he still there for some time, i can still enjoy some Nando moments when its still possible, because no one is eternal(Lewis, Fernando, the remaining of my childhood/teenage years as f1 fan still there will go one day, after kimi and seb recently gone). And also when Valterri, one of Mercedes remaining actors of my fav team domination era will also be gone too. And about ambassadorial Deal, AM did great with Fernando, its a thing i regretted Merc didnt do with Lewis after everything they did together, 6 driver titles and 8 constructors, by far the most times GP winner for the team, even if i prefered Schumacher, Rosberg and Bottas, it would have been great they give this to Lewis, but maybe they got their reason for it, but could cost a lot in future, espexially in recent struggling times like now.

Alonso and sainz would be the best driver lineup on the grid IMO. Aston I think have a car that’s closer to McLaren than to Mercedes but lance is dragging them down just like he did last year. Sainz would put them in a position to be challenging for championships in the future.

2:00 i think many miss a point here with "multiyear" contracts, its not only multiyear, it´s multi roles, for now the role is to be a driver, later the role will be something else within the team. And that´s smart if you want to stay in F1, stay with a team you like and not find another way of making money after you are done driving.

99% chance that the second fernando is off the Aston f1 team, or retiring, he will be with Aston in the WEC or Indy. If these bridges don't burn, it's a huge win win. Fernando gets a race car for life, pretty much in any series. Aston gets a driver for life, and an advisor/influencing power after that.

At the age of 42 Alonso is still one of the best driver in the grid, truly amazing and well deserved. I am sure that he can continue this performance for next 3-4 years. Alonso is still very competitive with 5 best car, if he gets little better car then he can even fight for the championship 🏆. It will be majestic to see that. Fernando and Carlos would be my dream team. They're my two favorite drivers on the grid at the moment, and have scored more points between them than any other pairing in my fantasy formula 1 teams. Plus their chemistry together us next level. Whether they can defeat Max is completely irrelevant. Carlos and Fernando on the same top team would be an F1 dream for me.

Everyone keeps forgetting that Carlos Sainz is a RedBull academy driver. Yes, that was a few years ago, but if Carlos keeps getting podiums and even close to Checo, Checo will be out and Sainz will be in (which will help ease the feud between Horner and Marko). 2026 could bring a very competitive Aston Martin car, if Honda get the engine right. Then them having Alonso behind the wheel they could really go to the next level. I think they are probably the team to watch in coming years at least from one driver.

As a Schumacher fan it took until Michael retired before I could appreciate Alonso. I'm his biggest fan at Indy and hope he comes back. My boy Larson is doing good at Indy so far

Poor Carlos it’ll come down to Sauber or Williams for him, tough. Think he’ll sign for Sauber soon, a mercedes stop gap for one season isn’t worth it, he’s better off enduring a tough season to then lead the Audi team for many years to come.

Is this the first feel good story of the season? I like to joke that it's Aston Martin retirement community, but to see the former racing point car being built up by vettel and alonso is really great as a fan of the -checo in a pink car- days. Think of how much AM can learn from him as well

It should also help the AM road division a LOT considering how likable Fernando is and how long AM has been sitting on the edge of bankruptcy recently (I think this'd be their 8th bankruptcy in their history?)

Aramco and daddy Stroll with the money, Honda engine, new factory, new windtunnel, sounds like a good deal. Add in the hypercar and a lifelong ambassador role for the James Bond brand, I see why Alonso likes it.
