Too friggin' gorgeous for words!!! The granddaddy of supercars! YEARS and YEARS ahead of its time! Oh, be still my heart!!! I was up close to one once, many years ago, but now I can only dream about that car.

Stunning! The Ferrari GTO is the greatest Ferrari ever. It was overshadowed by its successor the more overrated F40. The 288 is perfect, every angle of the car is… it’s incredible. I can’t think of any car better than this. This video is incredible!

Der GTO wurde ursprünglich entwickelt, um Ferrari in der damaligen Gruppe B ein Comeback im Rallyesport zu ermöglichen.Bei seiner Präsentation 1984 auf dem Genfer Auto-Salon war der 288 GTO der stärkste und schnellste Straßenwagen, den Ferrari bis dahin gebaut hatte. Bis Ende 1985 wurden 272 Straßen-GTOs gefertigt. Die Konstruktion des GTO zeigt insbesondere bezüglich der Brandgefahr Schwachstellen, von den 272 gebauten GTO sind ca. 70 ausgebrannt, die aber wohl alle wieder aufgebaut wurden.

Amazing and very fast , probably faster than the big Ferraris of that first half 80ies, anyway i wish to remember the Great Michele Alboreto , honest and very quick pilot , the last italian pilot of Enzo Ferrari's age, who left us some years ago couse a tragic axident on a prototype.

This car is so legendary, even though it was not raced before. Too bad Group B was banned. Else it would rival the price of 250GTO.

a guy I know bought Otis Chandler;s 288 a few yrs ago. i crawled in it at the guys house, it was pretty form fitting even for a 308 body. narrow sport seat's,and sparse interior. good bitey sounding flat plane crank V-8 open pipes. really addictive to listen to. 288,and F-40 were last good looking Ferrari design's.

Was supposed to make it to the rally stages together with the rest of the Group B Rally Cars ...
