Updated Ferrari spotted in testing, folks, the car looks quite different now and closely resembles the RB20. Could this mean a title for Ferrari? Great news for Ferrari fans. As announced by Italian Formula 1 portals, the Ferrari team is indeed conducting the second day of filming this Friday, but it's for the shake-down of the SF24 with the updates planned for the Imola GP, which are already on the car today. We can already call the car SF24B, as the concept of the car has changed significantly, especially in the sidepod.
It's a different aerodynamic look that carries a purpose: to improve the car in all areas. Now, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz's car has the same solution adopted by Red Bull in the RB20, in the sidepod air intake, allowing air to enter from below. This improves the car's aerodynamic efficiency.
The upper part of the car's side belly is also designed differently, partly abandoning the channel that characterized the SF24 at birth, to improve the efficiency of the beam wing, in the hope of reducing the resistance of the rear wing, thus making the SF24 faster on the straights.
There are also changes to the cockpit duct fairing, located at the end of the halo, which has also been redesigned. There is a duct through which air passes and goes to the rear of the car. Additionally, there are changes to the SF24's hood and engine ventilation grilles, those grooves, those openings for the hot air outlet from the car's engine.
The car has quite a few differences that you can't see from afar. People are taking photos of the car outside the Fiorano circuit. This was supposed to be a secret test, but we know that at Fiorano, the public gathers around to see and photograph every time Ferrari conducts any test there. So, we might have even more changes that we haven't noticed yet or that weren't noticeable at the time of recording this video.
