I have the ISX 2200 28 hp vanguard with the Vanguard oil system. 3 years and not a single issue, though I hate the 30$ price tag for the oil filters. I’ve been using XHT blades for many years on many machines. Great blades and decent price.
Hey Brian thanks for your comment. I searched for those blades and cannot find them. Are you in the US or Australia? If it’s kind if you can send me a link I’ll try these blades and see how many hrs I can get out of them.
5+ acres, I’d at least get the 2200 with the Vanguard oil system. Mine is 28 hp, which is more than adequate, and You get that nice adjustable suspension seat. 👍👍🇺🇸
I do 10 acres at my place and mow another 10 acres for some one else, would love to get a 2200 but all comes down to money, would love to get a 2200 for a second mower to even out the hard work. Thanks for watching👍🏻
Having had a Craftsman 1000 kholer for many years and still running but it's time to upgrade. After lots of RU-vid and Google and physical researching I went to a FERRIS Dealership TOPS. In my area Harlingen TX according to them nobody has any 42" or 48" available not even the warehouse, they'll have to be made and it'll take around 2 to 6 months to a year. 8a to 5p Hrs of operation and they're always jammed with people needing service but they don't can't help anybody. TERRIBLE customer service so just imagine trying to get parts or maintenance. Stopped at a KUBOTA and customer service was fast attentive huge store and fully stocked organized plus they have many Kubota locations everywhere. 4 year warranty too. Bought the KUBOTA 42" Z232 Kawasaki zero turn with free delivery next day. Very happy with SERVICE and feel confident about continuing business with Kubota and will be buying more from them . Also Ferris mostly uses Briggs and Stratton motors.
Great review! Thinking of getting a Ferris myself. Do you ever wish you had more HP? I have 5+ acres to mow and was looking at getting an isx3300 with 40hp. However the isx800 is much cheaper and may be enough for my needs. Any thoughts?
L have owned a Ferris for over 15 years and never had any of these problems. My only inputs have been oil and filters, blades and tires. They must have let quality slip over the years.
Very few Chinesium parts on these. You’d be pretty hard pressed to find anything that has none. You might find some other pretty decent mowers, but You won’t find any better than Ferris.
@@AussieBucking I believe it was the right side first. We have 7 mowers, and I service them, one mower a day before we go out. Sharpen the blades, oil, blow out the breather, and grease everything up. All once a week for each mower. The spindles take a lot of grease.
