Thankies so much for posting this. I am an artist and was wondering if this sketchbook was any good. I couldnt find any video info online about it. I make my own sketchbooks but occassionaly i get curious about what is out there. Your video answered all my questions. Thank you so much
This is crazy just today I saw another RU-vidr review some products from Ferris Wheel Press, including this sketchbook. I immediately started searching for reviews on the sketchbook itself and I couldn't find any, then you post a review just a few hours later! thank you so much for posting
Hi Lewis - oh I'm glad to hear that my video came at the right time! I told myself - if it helps one person it will be worth it! I held off quite awhile because I just don't know that much about what a "good" sketch book should be like ... but I figured at least I could show and tell the obvious measurements and features. :)
It is so hard for me to start a new sketchbook or notebook, feels really awkward! This one looks beautiful. Hoping to try FWP inks and books at some point when finances allow, maybe in the new year. Really enjoying your videos, thanks!
Hi Bee -- it really is so hard for me to "start" a new notebook!!!! I just "had" to start a new pocket size jotter AND a new long form journal almost at the same time ... it was tough but now that I'm actually finishing journals it's not as bad. This one was almost too pretty to even take the plastic wrap off it lol.
Thank you for reviewing this, I couldn't decide because it's risky trying a new brand at this price, but I'm convinced I need it know that I've seen inside how smooth the paper looks. I also thought the cover looked fabric/linen so relieved it's not, so thank you!
Hi my friend --- I thought of you when I opened this because your Bomo (SP?) Art Journals are so beautiful but I believe quite a bit smaller. This one I'm pretty well convinced I'm going to use to splat ink and test out samples - it will give me white hearty paper to go to town on and not use up all my Tomoe River paper lol.

I’ve had my eye on these sketchbooks, I’m really curious to test them with the Ferris wheel inks! My preference when it comes to sketchbooks is 7x10 inches and for a very long time I’ve used the Canson mixed media ones and I’m sort of just wanting something fancier for my nicer, longer-times illustrations
This sketch book is so nice -- I did find it too heavy so I gave it to a teenager who loves to draw because I like lighter books!!! Now I saw they had a smaller size so that might work better I'm not sure. :)
Hi Lisa -- I do plan to try the Tombow smooshing technique with the plastic bag - the one I learned from Kara (Boho Berry) soon and I will let you know how it spreads/blends. I can't believe I'm out of gallon bags right before Thanksgiving ... leave it to me!!!!
Their ink is beautiful, but after the way they "packed" the two sets of autumn ink chargers I ordered, I'll never buy anything from them again. I immediately wrote to them through IG and crickets. The "packaging" demonstrated total lack of care and complete disregard for those spending good money on their products.
Oh Jacquelyn - I'm really sorry to hear this. I imagine the feedback will help them improve but that's always hard for me too to try again with a company if the packaging is terrible. I have noticed that Vanness (Arkansas USA) is carrying Ferris Wheel Press inks ... I'm not sure where you are located but that might be an option if you decide to order ink again.
That is a beautiful book, but at that weight, very heavy! Perhaps too heavy to be practical for sketching except at a desk, or perhaps armchair. It looks like it might work as a journal too, especially if one incorporates art. It's expensive too, but pretty enough to be a gift for something special. Not for me though! Hi Margret -- I'm so happy to "see" you!!! Yes, this weighs as much as our weights we use lol. But it sure is a beauty!!!! I hope they start making smaller ones. The cover is undeniably beautiful!!!!
