What a wonderful trip. Visiting very remote island in Japan which is very close to Taiwan rather than Mainland Japan. Before i watched this video, I think Okinawa is very remote inhabited place in Japan. I'm just imagining the logistics distribution challenge to this island, especially for Yonaguni Island who want to buy vehicle, since in that island I can't see public transportation. Anyway i have many questions about this video: Are Ishigaki and Yonaguni still part of Okinawa Island? How long the flight from Mainland Japan to Ishigaki? Wait, round-trip schedule of this ship only twice a week, even though the duration of sailing only 4,5 hours? Is that bike at rental same as Mainland or imported from Taiwan? I see no difference. Pro tip: if you feeling seasickness, it's better going to the deck for fresh air rather than on cabin (If you can walk to the outside) and don't forget to bring seasickness bag + medicine.
I am glad you are interested in this video. Let me answer a few questions. Yonaguni Island and Ishigaki Island are part of Okinawa Prefecture in Japan's administrative divisions. The flight time from Tokyo or Osaka to Ishigaki Island is 2.5 to 3 hours. Ferries make only two round trips per week and the sailing time is 4.5 hours one way. However, there are daily flights to and from Ishigaki Island or Naha. Rental bikes were the same as those on the Japanese mainland. There are currently no regular shipping routes between Taiwan and Yonaguni Island. There used to be a regular route between Ishigaki Island and Taiwan, but it was discontinued. Thank you for your advice about seasickness. I will make the most of it for my next boat trip. For many Japanese, Yonaguni is an unknown island. I was fascinated by some of the charms of this small island on this trip. I would like to visit this island again and get in touch with the islanders. Have a nice ferry trip and a nice island trip! 🚢🚢🚢😄😄😄✈️✈️✈️
Thank you for your video! Wow, the islands are so beautiful! Even though it was grey and rainy, it's breathtaking. The island cliffs and lighthouses remind me of a bit of Ireland! Your videography of the berthing and sailors' work with the ropes is really great, the camera is very clear and detailed, it's like we are there with you...I laughed when the worker on land caught the rope but his hat flew off in the wind! 😄 I think he was laughing too!
Thank you for your comment. When I am on a ferry, I love to see the skill of the sailors. It's so sophisticated that just looking at it impresses and makes riding the ferry even more fun. I am happy to share the fun of the ferry trip with you. I will continue to travel by ferry from now on. Have a nice ferry trip!😄😄😄🚢🚢🚢✈️✈️✈️
