I must say I'm "hooked" on the channel. Seeing your notifications, I know I'm off on another adventure with you guys. Vancouver Island certainly didn't disappoint. Stay safe and enjoy.
The opening with Kona was so cute! And as soon as I saw the ferry, I thought "I hope they get Nanaimo bars," and you did! Happy Vancouver Island exploring!
I spent a lot of time exploring Vancouver Island while I was living in Parksville back in 2004. Your trip to Tofino brought back a lot of good memories of that time. Thank you.
The Pros and Cons of why we watch your channel. I really appreciate all the time and energy that it takes to do the researching and the editing. I'm not a foodie but all of the descriptions you do of the food always makes me hungry. The filming of the scenery always makes me want to get on the road. You even made a 10 minute construction stop interesting. I like watching your silly goofy dancing and fighting the wind moves. Some outtakes might be fun. Now for the cons…….. Well can't think of any. Keep doing what you're doing we really enjoy it. Happy trails.
Thank you so much! We love filming and sharing a mix of activities and experiences. Anything after the ending screen is what we call our outtakes or bloopers. We share everything we have in that regard if it’s appropriate. Thank you so much and thanks for watching!
Always interesting to see our home from the perspective of other people visiting. We never take it for granted how fortunate we are to be born and raised here. Great video guys!
My Joanns and I honey mooned on the island in 2002. We had so much fun. Stayed a week at Long Beach in an awesome condo on the water by a lighthouse. Lots of wonderful memories. Thank you. My husband passed two years ago. I really want to go back.
Vancouver Island is so beautiful!! We visited there on honeymoon--the western most destination on honeymoon--a trip by train across Canada by train from Toronto. Thanks for the return trip after many years!! Another wonderful video!!!
So cool that you're touring Vancouver Island! I visited it several times in the 1980s and 1990s. A friend and I camped for free at a beachfront property that was for sale in Tofino. When the tide was out we saw a weathered totem pole half buried in the sand as well as a VW bug? buried upside down with its wheels exposed. We saw a sunflower starfish washed up on shore. We shared our campsite with a snake too. I also solo camped years later at Little Qualicum Falls campground and walked the same loop path you did. My boyfriend and I stayed at Hollyhock Resort on Cortes Island too and a chipmunk bounced on our tent's rainfly! It was fun to watch your latest episode as you toured Vancouver Island. The Sonoma Bacon Chips looked tasty. I just ate some Avocado chips as I watched your blog. Happy trails! Jenny Seattle, WA 🙂
Sounds like a crazy fun trip! Our trip there wasn’t that wild, but we still had a blast! We have some avocado chips in our hanger box as well! Thanks for watching!
Hi, new friends...from a new subbie. You have captured the very essence of Vancover Island. Although I live just over the water in Washington State and can visit Cypress and Fir trees outside my own door....there is yet another magic in Vancouver Island....especially where you followed literally in our footsteps. My handsome Prince and I have made many trips there.... I'm glad we didnt know our last trip to Tofino was to REALLY be our LAST trip due to age, health and inability to travel.... Thanks for sharing with us. I'm looking forward to your whole trip. *Recliner Babe*
So many parks! It's like to take 10 steps and "oh, there's another one." Not that I'm complaining, they're all gorgeous. I definitely want to check out the island when I make it back to BC.
I live on Van island….in Parksville, just north of Nanaimo. Thanks for reminding me how I take it all for granted. I think it’s just about the best place on earth to live. I’m twenty minutes from Englishman river falls, and five minutes from Parksville beach. It rains a lot, but that’s ok. Everything is lush and green here.
This was great! I knew nothing about Vancouver Island so I really enjoyed this video and I am looking forward to the future ones! My sister-in-law’s niece (from husband’s side) lives on Vancouver Island so now I get to see where she lives and why she and her family moved there! Well, another place to add to my list!! :). :). :)
Just realized that we have never been to anywhere else on the island besides Victoria and the gardens! What a beautiful place! That's now on my bucket list!
How beautiful is that place? My gosh! Even with all the waterfalls, I think my favorite shot was on the shore of Cameron Lake. Y’all just make me want to retire 19 months early and hit the road! Great video. Have fun! 👍
Wow!!! Vancouver Island is gorgeous!! All those powerful waterfalls!! And those Nanaimo Bars!! Btw, I loved Kona’s blep in the video! And Kathryn, please rap for us in a future video!!!!!
The island is super gorgeous! We had to look up what a blep is so thank you for opening our eyes to a new word! We’ll see where we can fit in a few rap lines soon! 🤪
ahh! The joy is palpable. I love ferry rides as much as you all. We did Madeline Island in Wisconsin last year and took our car across, with our dog as well! So fun. What a gorgeous area...Already my head is spinning about a visit there. Looking forward to more!
Love your video! I'm born and raised on Vancouver Island and have never left. You did a beautiful job glamorizeing the bc ferry experience! Great locations you show cased. I'm so glad you tried our Nanaimo bar! Nanaimo is my hometown and I think everyone needs to try a Nanaimo bar!
Gorgeous! I have only seen such a small portion of the Island!!! Didn't realize I was missing so much. I am loving your videos guys. Keep up the great work!
I was so excited to see this video because I have a relative living on Gabriola Island one half hour by ferry from Nanimo. These are places they often refer to and talk about.
You guys travel so well! Nanaimo bars, hiking, lunch with views of the water, and the ferry ride looked amazing! Didn’t even know Vancouver Island was a place, but now it’s on our bucket list!
Up until that backup due to construction, I was thinking how nice it was to have the ferry & the island pretty much to yourselves! Such splendid visuals! I could almost inhale the outdoors filled with the scent of pine & all that cool, fresh air!🌲Living the dream! 💚Sweet hugs to Kona.🥰
Ya know even though we were there on a Canadian holiday weekend we didn’t notice many people in most places we went! We were confused, but pleasantly surprised! It’s so gorgeous on Vancouver Island and it’s one of our favorite places!
Born and raised on Northern Vancouver Island. 🤗 If you ever get a chance, check out Malcom island, you ferry over from Port McNeil (20min ride) Go to - Bere Point Campsites- The whales (orcas) Actually Rub on these Beaches. It's a sight to see, if you can get there the right time of year! 🤍 🐾
We would love to come back and go more north than Campbell River. We loved everywhere we went on the island and up north seemed like a lot of fun. And we'll be adding Malcolm Island and Bere Point Campsites to our list! That sounds incredible! Thanks!
Late to the party as I've been island adventuring too, but my goodness, this video has cemented my need to return to this gorgeous area of the world. When I visited Vancouver Island all those years ago, our budget was super tight so car rental was out of the question and we only visited Victoria and Tofino as these were well served by public transport. We took the clipper over to Victoria from Seattle like you did on your last visit - I remember being so torn about the cost, but it was going to give a whole extra day if we didn't faff with the greyhound to Vancouver and then ferry across. To get back, we took a bus from Tofino to Vancouver that included the ferry cost so skipped absolutely everything you showed me in this video, and the FOMO is very real right now (if you change fear to feeling 🤣)! You guys did well to capture the bear, even if it was just a small snippet - your reactions were just as good as I know I'd be reacting in exactly the same way!! I shockingly never ate a Nanimo bar the whole year I lived in Canada, so that alone is a reason to return as they look amazing! I think the highlights of this were the Englishman River Falls and the little Qualicum Falls, but the lighthouse loop was gorgeous too! I'm so pleased you're back in areas I've been to as I love trips down memory lane thanks to you guys! ❤
Oh ya you’ve gotta get back to Vancouver Island when you can! It deserves a proper exploration! And yes the Nanaimo bar alone is worth the visit! The waterfalls were 😍😍
What a beautiful island! The ferry ride looked like a lot of fun (I loved our ferry ride to Bainbridge Island)! Those water falls, Kona shots and Nanaimo bars 😋! I cannot wait to watch more Vancouver Island videos! Safe travels 😘❤️❤️❤️🐶🥰
Your vlogs are so interesting. We have stayed on Vancouver island in Parksville and we loved it. Next time, we want to drive over to Tofino. I am looking forward to your Alaskan adventure.
Your vlogs are really vibrant. I recognize your efforts in showing us all about, the hard work. made in editing and so on. The magnific landscapes are breathtaking, the forests, waterfalls are astonishing. We all watch your videos smiling 🤩🌲🌷
Just came back from a camping trip, saw the red little dot notification, yeahhhh! I love the way you guys produce these videos, always with so much positive attitude and energy, I see you guys appreciate the good or the bad, because it is a real journey. Through your lenses I get to see the familiar and unfamiliar places, different kinds of food, oh, and coffee ☕️! Congratulations on 6K more subscribers in just a few weeks. Keep doing what you are doing, you are making a big impact on me and believe me you are making a big impact on a lot of people!
So happy Kona was able to join you! Thank you for bringing us to a part of the world we will never visit! The falls were incredible!! Always love the bloops! Great video guys! ~Cara 💕
Wow! Vancouver Island is beautiful!! I had no idea! When you said you paid $250 to ferry over, I was shocked. That's a lot. However, once I saw all the waterfalls and cute towns.... worth it! I want to plan a trip there now😅
You Guys are Awesome, I would Love to explore Vancouver Island, It is SOOO beautiful up there, I just told my wife I promise I will take you there, Good Luck on your travels.
I just found your channel. I'm surprised and disapointed that you didn't check out some of the Gulf Islands. I enjoy watching people discover the paradise that I call home.
Stunningly beautiful! Waterfalls, lighthouses and a bear - does it get any better than that? Unique and cute were the same words I was using to describe that lighthouse!😂
Dang. I recently moved to Vancouver and didn’t know the island looked like this. Y’all are true adventurers. Feel like I’m missing out lol thanks for the video.
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING👍👍👍! The ferry ride was awesome and the beautiful terrain and those HUGE TREES. and such a SPECTACULAR drive across the island. OUTSTANDING👍👍👍! I can't wait to see what's next...Victoria? Hmmm...
A big hello from Nanaimo! Glad you had a chance to see some of the beauty our little island has to offer. Bocca’s Nanaimo Bars are so good! I work one street from them so their goodies are far too accessible if you know what I’m mean 😆 My husband is a deckhand on the departure bay route of the ferries and I think I saw him in your clips! How fun! Enjoys your stay and I hope that you have an amazing time 😊
I love seeing everyone coming to the island and think tofino is the nicest place on the island but if you really wanna see open roads and beautiful beaches you need to head up island towards woss there is some amazing back country and wild life all over the place
Ya for sure. This was only our second visit to the island and we wanted to check out the major destinations. On our next visit we’ll get more into the backcountry. We’d love to check out Malcolm Island and some of the other inland towns like you mentioned. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching!
Wow what an amazingly beautiful area with so many stops along the way. Loved the yawning Kona and "I smell bacon". It all makes us want to go there. Thanks for sharing.
Another gem - thank you! Falls were gorgeous! LOVE Kona's tongue at 7:33 btw. :) Also, those Nanaimo Bars looks FABULOUS! Gonna find a recipe and try to make a batch. Glad to see some more dancing at the end. And the singing - top notch!
Bocca makes great Nanaimo bars so you were good. The absolute best are homemade ones! You guys are now on Island time, enjoy! Island time is take it easy and go slow time ❤️
Can’t wait to see your Tofino adventures! We were there 5 years ago and stayed in Uculet and hiked the Wild Pacific Trail too. We are almost done converting our new sprinter van and Tofino is on our list of places to go back to. So cool that there’s an RV campground there! I saved the info for when we head out that way. One of the coolest hiking trails was the Tonquin Trail. It has a really neat boardwalk that I think you’d like (if you haven’t done it already) 😀
Tofino is so beautiful and so fun! And the whole island really! Surf Grove, the campground we stayed in, was really really nice! We didn’t do the Tonquin Trail. We’ll add that to our list for next time! Thank you!
Beautiful island. Another awesome video. Thanks for sharing with all of us stuck at home and work. Counting down until I get to hit the road. Have fun you two, or I should say you three.
We're doing all the hard work of eating Nanaimo bars, hiking, and hopefully capturing the beauty for the folks at home! We're happy to share and extremely thankful and grateful for what we get to do! Us three are having a blast! Thanks for watching as always!
I am not really one for coconut but that dessert with the chocolate ganache on top makes me change my mind that maybe I should try thank you so much for all your videos so much fun to watch
