This video talks about the physiology of fertilization. Sperm digests through the corona radiata by use of the enzyme hyaluronidase PH20. Once it reaches the zona pellucida, and binds to ZP3, the acrosome reaction takes place and the zona pellucida is digested. Once the sperm and egg cell membranes fuse, the cortical granules release their contents, preventing polyspermy.
