I'm based at East Fortune... and in this flight I take you the grand distance of around 1 mile, to East Fortune East!
East Fortune East hosted their "Festival of Flight Fly-in" on the 9-11 August 2024. Unfortunately the weather wasn't too great so it only really happened on the 11th (Sunday), but it turned out to be a fantastic day with loads of great aircraft making the flight to drop into this lovely little airfield.
Remember, East Fortune East is based on the side of an active Racing Circuit, so the runway section is the smoothest concrete you'll land on for miles! The downside is that there's an inch and a half drop a few feet either side of the lines... so precision is key here! You also need to keep an eye out for the East Coast Mainline power lines, which you fly right over the top of on the final for 24.
It was great to tick this one off the list - I've been wanting to fly into EFE for a while now!
