Dave Cipriani
Award-Winning Guitarist Dave Cipriani is one of the few advanced exponents of Indian Slide Guitar in America, a senior disciple of Ustad Aashish Khan, grandson of legendary Baba Allaudin Khan. Dave was first introduced to Hindustani music in 1998 with sitar master Jai Kishor, and began serious riyaz with late Indian Slide guitar pioneer Pandit Barun Kumar Pal in 2003. He holds an MFA in North Indian Music from California Institute of the Arts, where he also studied Indian rhythm concepts with Randy Gloss and Pdt. Swapan Chaudhuri. Dave leads the fusion group Mahadev, and has performed at concerts, venues and festivals around California and Maryland/DC, including performances with Ud. Pranesh Khan, Javad Bhutah, Leonice Shinneman and Qawaali master Sukhwat Khan, as well as several TV/Film credits.
Shivam Sudame
Shivam started learning tabla at the age of 7 from Shri Hemant Ekbote in Irvine. He went on to learn online from Shri Muthu Kumar from Bangalore, before spending 3 years with Shri Aditya Kalyanpur, one of the foremost exponents of the Punjab Gharana. He has since been receiving taleem with the legendary Pt. Anindo Chatterjee from the Farukhabad Gharana. Shivam has had the fortune of playing alongside music legends like Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya and Pt. Pankaj Mishra, and he has performed solos in front of tabla maestros like Ut. Tari Khan, Pt. Nayan Ghosh, Pt. Abhijit Banerjee, and more.
