Crescenta's spells sound like mistakes she's trying to cover up. She couldn't create any good spells so she wrote down the bad ones and tried to pass it off as brilliance.

The magic basically worked like cocaine. Even Cresenta used it without critical thinking about the dangers and consequents. I like when Disney gets transparent :D
Well, you really can't blame Festivia why she didn't make peace with the monsters, she was told that her "parents" were eaten by monsters, and I guess she wants revenge to the monsters, so the one who told her that her parents were eaten by monsters are to be blame. But Crescenta though... I won't even start to talk about her. Dirhhennia was... unique to say the very least, at least she was honest of how she feels, didn't rush her life etc.
I think one of the reasons festivia isn't doing what exactly star and moon do to search true origin are: 1:She raised to believed her parents eaten by monster 2:Her magic mostly for festivities and cosmetic 3:She wasn't aware her charismatic abilities.

@@Monarchofmonarch Well, as for why it would happen, I don't think it's too big a stretch to assume Crescenta is a lesbian, given how much her chapter talks about her relationship with Emily. As such, having a biological child would require... outside assistance. As for how I can tell she's there kid... Admittedly, I don't have a lot of proof on that front, other than Rhina not really looking like Crescenta.

I thought about the idea of Crescentia magically making herself or Emily into a Male or something similar, but given the fact that Emily is a mermaid, no matter who is the male in the scenario, their kid would most likely have aquatic traits as well. Given the lack of such details, I assumed that an heir came from a union outside their own
Except from what it sounded like, it only makes you *feel* like you had 8 hours of sleep, which is pretty much just hiding the symptoms of the problem rather than solving it. That shit could either kill you or at least do some heavy destruction on your brain in just a few days. EDIT Never mind, I went back into the video, 6:28 and the actual text does say you get 8 hours of sleep in 4 minutes. My bad, I was just listening to what he said instead of paying attention to the writing.

I figured Festivia was the start of things going down hill since she came across as a commoner who just won the royal lottery and was more focused on using her power for partying, but her daughter is just straight up troubled...they call Eclipsa's chapter dark but only reason I can see Crescenta's not being locked down is just the sheer volume of bullshit she created that it was hard to separate the simply stupid from the straight up disturbing.

Nyrufa exactly! eclipsa’s spells are actually more useful From a battling perspective (mighta got that from her mom ) but a lot of em would be used as a way of self defense Crecenta’s only real good contribution was levitato and that’s really it
The worst crime of Dirrhenia was being lazy as fuck, which honestly, I relate. She even left her little sister to take the wand an do whatever she wanted with it. She didn't cared about power or anything like that. She never seemed to want any harm towards anyone. I like her and I hope she ends up in dull happiness with her dull husband.
She wasn't dull, she just grew indifferent because of all the bs she had to endure coming from her mother... living among shallow fake people can easily make you depressed
Also she was still quite young when she got the book, and it got taken away before her mature self could come out. And even her immature state she still seems more level headed than both her sister and mom

I bet Crescenta’s spells were weird because she was bad at magic. Instead of admitting that she just listed the unintended side effect as part of the spell. “A spell that makes everyone around you itch and creates a shining star at the same time.” “Tie your shoes while setting everything in the background on fire.” It seems pretty obvious that she was trying to create a shining star and tie her shoes, but instead of admitting she made a mistake and fixing the spells she just pretended that she meant for them to do that. It even shows her looking surprised during the fire one.
I could be wrong, but I think the main reason where all this craziness of the past queens stems from (for some of them at least) is because of the fact that the majority of them were too young to rule. They were immature, childish, and had no idea HOW TO RULE. Along with that, somewhere down the line they obviously had some sort of mental issue that nobody dared to try to figure out, or keep them from doing insane things. How in the world did Crescenta turn out to be freaking psychopath? From what I know about royalty is the fact that queens/young princes generally take the throne once their parent passes. Though, I'm not sure this comment of mine makes much of sense. It's the only best assumption I can come up with, though.
I mean, Festivia's time wasn't exactly...pleasant for the kingdom. To be precise, the war reached a point they were forced to stay in the castle and Festivia kept spirits up with parties. With that being the case, it's no surprise that her daughters were either very morose or extremely driven.
@bakkahentai2600, It's a bit hard to understand, overall. But, if Festivia had listened to Omni, the war could have just fixed itself eventually. I'm STILL SHOCKED THAT at one point, Omni WANTED PEACE AMONGST THE MONSTERS. As for Crescenta, she 's just CRAZY. She's on a whole 'nother level compared to her mom.

Actually what you're saying does make sense royal families tend to have mental issues due to the fact younger sibilings are always being compared to their older ones it would make them insane crescenta should have face the truth to that
I think the Magic High Commission DID A LOT OF THE: "RAISING OF THE QUEENS" if you think about it. I am sorry for my rambling. Remember that Moon is racist against monsters? If you read her mother's chapter, her mother was somewhat decent about equal treatment of monsters: yet Moon just despises them. Interesting, right? Moon says that she is racist against monsters because of Toffee, but have you ever stopped to think that maybe she continues her bigotry because of the high commission? She had no mother to raise her ever since she was handed the wand. Who knows if her dad was present: (probably not.) The High Commission shaped Moon into what she is, today. The MHC has A LOT TO DO with Mewni's history. They aren't just the "monsters," they are the ones shaping these queen's beliefs about monsters. And they continue to do so.
Moon's mother, Queen Comet, was assassinated shortly after after Moon turned 17-her father, Lazlo Marmalade, was still alive and when Moon married River, he was unable to attend.
Boss Isaac , I have the book myself, but I never saw that info. The cursive writing in her chapter is hard to read, so I never got very far through her chapter. I will check out that link, though. :)
Kinda expected something different with festivia. Her tapestry made her seem like an interesting character, but I feel like they didn't really take advantage of her potential. She's the closest to Star in personality, but was also implied to be mature like Queen Moon
I don't think Cresenta got a husband in the long run. I feel she was assigned one cuz I strongly believe she was in a lesbian love thing with the mermaid chick.
Key Points: -What did Moon do to take care of the Seth problem? Or Comet before her death? -Emily and Crescenta were more than just best friends! -Dir had the ability to see the darkness. So does that mean she could have discovered her own dark powers and rivaled to someone as Eclipsa's? If the wand wasn't passed on to Crescenta.
Honestly i have some sympathy for Festivia. Even if it is said that Eclipsa was eaten by a monster she still knew that she abonded the kingdom for one. Plus everyone on mewni had that twisted point of view back then. I can't realy see the reason for her to forgive them. So yeah I forgive her out of petty. But I feel no petty for Cresscenta becouse her whole chapter is mostly about comparing herself with Dihteria and barelaly making anything usefull for the future. Her whole rulership is based on lust and envy.
I feel like Festivia was an alcoholic, also her constant tweeting reminds me of trump, no wonder her kids were somewhat messed up. Then again Festivia was never raised by parents, so it's understandable that she didn't know how to handle them
I wish we could’ve seen Durhennia be queen... I get it, she’s an angsty teen archetype, but I find her to be a type of character you wanna see blossom, see what happens.
Festevia is my favorite Queen, but I feel sorry for her being lied to the MHC she hides her feelings of having responsibilities to the kingdom she just want revenge of that lie her foster parents and she's did not know what happened to her real parents I hope he find the truth in season 4 that includes Star's real family line.....maybe be a plot twist down the line or not we have to just wait and see. Cresenta.....OH MY GOODNESS WHAT A LITTLE rotten sister she turn into Dirhhennia a wolf, she a loudmouth....(I wish I could slap her) she is my least princess no wonder Glossaryck, Star, and EVEN her own sister didn't like her. Dirhhennia is one my list of favorite even does she need some help with her low self-esteem she still my favorite and her wand is 2 favorite...she's cool. Hekapoo.....is very troublesome, but she was blinded mewmans and monsters battle for so long we have just wait and see about her character development season 4.
My favourite queen is Eclipsa. It is not allowed to even be friends with a monster in her time. But you know what that badass queen did? She did the OPPOSITE and just MARRIED a monster! That’s good, I mean, you can marry who you freakin want! Eclipsa did, and that’s why I like her, it kinda reminds me of the gay rights in this world and all that stuff💓

Here's my biggest question regarding Mewni's people. Who's the moron who started the whole "monsters must be hated" thing? Something in my bones tells me that before Toffee killed Moon's mother, before even Solaria was around; monsters might've actually been cool with the Mewmans
The whole thing started centurues ago, when the Mewmans first arrived and pushed the monsters (the original inhabitants) off of their land to build a kingdom; tensions have persisted between the two groups for years, with the monsters being segregated from the Mewmans as well as being refused access to food. A select few Mewman queens were content to let the monsters be so long as they didn't go out and cause trouble, while others, such as Solaria, concluded that peaceful coexistence was simply impossible and advocated for the monsters to be exterminated.

I agree with you 100% about Crescenta's personally outlook, behavior and chapter in general. She is NOT an ideal queen, she is highly petty, obsessive and completely obnoxious. It makes me want to go back in time and slap her
I like Dirhhennia, cause I was hoping for an edgelord princess, and we got it. Man, the other two were hiding all their feelings, but Dir was honest about her feelings. The Riddles princess who’s name I can’t spell seem to have a similar attitude about being a good ruler in potential, but not wanting to, while their parents were total butts. Seems to be a pattern.
Also when you translate the Low Mewman She talks about how she’s better than her sister at everything and that she would be the greatest queen ever known. She even wrote sarcastically how you shouldn’t have broken your arm in low Mewman and that you now have a demon curse. She also writes that she must be productive at all times and that life isn’t for the weak. The last part she writes in Low Mewman is how she spent her entire life being great and that only Emily (her mermaid friend) appreciated it. Edit: this is about Crescenta’s chapter btw sorry I forgot to add that >~
Honestly I liked Dirhenia better, Crescenta was really weird and egotistical and most of her spells were messed up also I'm pretty sure she had a thing going on with Emily.
It’s sad, none of these queens knew their whole legacy was a lie, Festivia believed that she was royal all because she was taken in as a baby and thought her “real” parents were killed by monsters
I think the Magic High Commission will get what they deserve. In the Magic Book of Spells, Eclipsa created a spell that causes someone to switch bodies. Why bring a spell like that unless Daron is planning to use it? What I hope to see is Glossaryck, Star and Eclipsa using that spell to switch the high Commission with monster bodies as punishment for their lie.
.....Or.... just transfigure them so some monsters don't have to loose their bodies. If I am to be frank transforming them into "monsters" as a punishment on purpose strikes me as a touch insulting to monsters. "Hey! I punished those awful people that hate you by turning them into something terrible....you!" If that were to happen it would be best if it was done on accident, as a more "karmic" punishment than Star or Eclipsa making a judgement call.

Yeah, I felt turning the MC into monsters would mainly serve to teach empathy. Either that or they enter a nightmare world where they are treated badly just like the other monsters in Mewni.
During the book signing the creators did mention that one of Eclipsa's spells featured in the book would make an appearance in the fourth season, and by logical interpretation this would exclude her spells we've seen in the show so far... which leaves us with either the body-swap spell, or the sleepwalking one, the feet-eating one, or the low self-esteem spell instead. My money's on the first.

Here's what I think would make a great episode: After the secret got out, Glossaryck and Eclipsa gather Rhombulous, Hekapoo, and Omnitraxus and invite Star and Marco to punish them for their crime against Meteora and causing Mewni's destruction. Marco thought up a way and suggested that since their fear and bigotry of monsters was what caused it, they should spend the day as monsters and know what life is like through their eyes. Glossaryck and the others agree. Glossaryck and Eclipsa used their combined magic to temporarily erase Mewni's memories of the High Commission and neutralize the MHC's powers. They go about Mewni like they normally would and gain the fear and hatred the monsters get. They get blamed for someone's problems; they are shoed out of restaurants, the market place, and trinket stores; and they are having people screaming as they ran away before they did anything. They Knights throw them out of Mewni and into the Forest of Certain Death, where they experience the wildlife and plant life. When it starts to rain, they are forced to take shelter in a cave. They talk about everything they went through and realized that this is how the monsters are forced to live because of how the Mewmans treat them. They also realized that this is how they treated Meteora, and for flaws that are a part of her. Glossaryck gives them their powers back and makes the people of Mewni remember. They now set out to help Star and Eclipsa with their mission to bring the monsters to Mewni without fear.
Newdles#2149 At one point in her chapter it mentions that when she got mewberty she didn't go boy crazy, and that Emily was with her at the time and afterwards told her she "looked stunning" or something like that. Also if you combine that with Emily's decision to not become queen of her own kingdom to stay with Crescenta, and how she is referred to as her "gal pal", it kind of implies that something romantic could have been there between them.
@@sleepvillainz At a book signing Daron Nefcy said Emily and Crescenta did have a romantic relationship at some point. I mean, 'gal pals' is literally a very common term in the lesbian/sapphic community, and its not a coincidence it was used.
I really liked this analysis video you did! I've always been interested in how the fake Butterflies affected Mewni, after Eclipsa was frozen, and this, was just so good! I'm definitely subbing :D
In Skywyne's Chapter Heckapoo wanted war with monsters, then in Festivia's she said she would do what ever the queen thought was right, and in Moon The Undaunted she and Omitraxus were the ones wanting to sign the peace treaty. She and Rhombulous had the most development of the MHCs. She may have not have respect for monsters, but she is antiwar. I do think that if she is a villain, she wouldn't be the only one of the MHC.
I have another theory That I put up on Reddit than King Shastacan is the villan through proxi. That he gave Mine the orders to make shore That Globgore nerver was free and to kill Meteora if she came to save her dad.
I have a Theory that Dir actually had fetal alcohol syndrome, because Festivia only drank and partied, but there’s such a difference between the sisters.
Yeesh this is a train wreck....The High commission should just have Justin the wand back....or his children if he had any at the time Eclipsa was crystalized.
Its never mentioned whether or not Justin had children and if he did, then he didn't have any female descendants, or else they would've taken the throne.
Am I the only one thinking that Festivia is the daughter of Jushtin the Uncalculated ?. Festivia looks like Jushtin and maybe that is the reason why she has cheek mark. also Jushtin is the brother of Eclipsa's mother. well this my theory XD
Jimisterious _04 Sadly she had no blood connection to the former Butterfly generation whatsoever, at least at this point she still didn't (I'm totally down for a little revelation that Star is still a Butterfly by blood somehow). As for the cheekmarks, practically anyone can develop them without having to be a royal given that they are in prolonged exposure to magic. Some may even get them instantly if they're soul-bound with those who already have the marks, as in the case of Marco.
@@user-sy9ev8hh5k Marco is probably related to Alfonso, (the sailor painting guy) who had made Eclipsa with Solaria. Therefore, Marco is probably the prince, and Star is not. BUT Star is still royal because of her viking/bird king father.
Oscar Gonzalez from what it said, the sailor dude was nothing more but a sperm donor. So even if Marco is a descendant from the sailor, as he never married Solaria (at least from what I know), Marco would have zero entitlement to the throne
False. Skywynne had 2 children, Jushtin the boy queen and I think Solaria. Jushtin was in line to be ruler until Skywynne found out she was pregnant with a girl and due to the matriarch, the throne was passed to Solaria (check out SliceofOtaku's video on Jushtin)
Crescenta was actually in a relationship with her friend, Emily Kelpbottom. This was confirmed by Daron Nefcy. And with how many spells Crescenta created, it wouldn't be a surprise if she created a spell to, temporarily, turn Emily into a male so they could have a child.
6:01 I actually think that spell could be useful. What if you're being chase and your shoe becomes untied you could tie it and put a fire behind you to slow the person chases you down

I will admit that the turning a few minutes of sleep to a feeling of having a few hours of sleep is pretty cool. I'm a night owl who stays up all night all the time only to regret it during the day.

Honestly I think Crescenta’s rhyme should be something like, When the one before her proved unfit she took the wand to rule Crescenta the eager was very nice But to the monsters, cruel I just didn’t think all of her poem was that good.
It really is a wonder how Crescenta ever got a daughter. I mean... my impression was that Crescenta had feels for her friend Emily cuz she said that only Emily seemed to understand her. Plus its obvious the two got along as it was bluntly said in the book, even giving a picture of the two girls having fun [as seen at 2:42] Also, Festivia's parents... well we already know about her mom but what happened to her "dad?" Was he actually killed cuz if so that's karma.
Based on his mannerisms, its safe to assume that Shastacan didn't get out much, and even then, it doesn't seem like there was a risk that Shastacan would be killed by some monster lurking outside the castle if he stepped out. Its _possible_ that he contracted a terminal illness and died shortly after Festivia was brought to the castle as an infant, but we don't know.

Not that i'm making this up because I want a gay character in the show, I really don't care if there is one or not. Seems the elder sister is more honest with her thoughts and feelings, plus The two princess seems like the queen's split personalities one seems bored but honest while the other is happy but laying to themselves....wait that seems familiar
I’m not sure who should be the current heiress to the throne of Mewni. On the one hand (spoiler? Eh, it’s been long enough), Meteora is the daughter of the last Queen from the original bloodline, which makes her a strong contender. However, despite what you may feel about Festivia’s time as Queen, she WAS declared the princess after Eclipsa voluntarily left the throne, and she and her descendants did go through coronations and were recognized as royals by their peers in other kingdoms, so no one could say Festivia’s descendants weren’t Mewman queens... Really, it could go either way, BUT I’d side with Star as rightful future Queen due to Eclipsa being willing to leave Mewni in the first place. That by no means justifies what happened to her family, but it seems to be the equivalent of abdication, and her husband theoretically had the power to name the next princess in her absence...maybe?? On an emotions-only level, I’m glad Meteora will have the chance to grow up in a MUCH more supportive environment. Then again (almost done, I promise), Star voluntarily turned power over to the original bloodline, so I suppose the point is moot.

Solaria's Husbo is the sailor in the painting (Alfonso if I remember right) from the blood moon ball. Crecenta had a gal pal and no mewberty so probably no legit child. Also it's possible that Marco is the descendant of Solaria since her husbo was spanish, hence why Marco has a moon mark. In fact now that I think about it...Marco is a Mewny prince. And star is not (but she is a viking/bird princess due to her dad).

Just noticed festivia has horns both in reference to stars horns and her name FESTIVia as in partys. And that dyonisus (the party god) used to be a completely different god, with ram horns, and of course based on pan(also kindof a party god. But actually more of a music, forest and sex god not a drinking party one)
It was revealed in Eclipsa's chapter that Jushtin (referred to here as “Uncle Jushtin”) married a duchess of the Spider Bite kingdom named Recluza. Whether or not Jushtin had any children is never stated, but if he did and if Festivia was indeed one of his descendants, then there wouldn't have been any need to pass Festivia off as Eclipsa's daughter.
