I have spina bifida and I know how scared these parents are. Back when I was born the doctors told my family not to expect me to make it... Well I'm here 33 years later!
I was born with spina bifida hydrocepholous and club feet, my parents were told that i wouldnt be able to do anythhing for myself, here i am 19 years later and able to do almost anything, i still have problems with my feet and bowel movements amd back problems but im okay thankfully
I'm a medical undergraduate from a unprivileged country ...I saw a spina bifida case today born vaginallly and premature... Patient didn't get any checkup done before this..no USG..nothing ...so those who get it diagnosed and treated at such hospitals should feel lucky
I was trying to get pregnant for two years with medicine and a surgery on my phallopian tubes and then a therapy for 5 months. Then finally after 2 years and 5 months I was pregnant I was so happy! This past Friday we had our 20 weeks ultrasound where they were going tell us if it was a boy or a girl, and well its a BABY BOY!!! But we that is not the only thing they told us they told us that our Baby has spina bifida 😭 so we are still waiting for more studies to find out what kind of spina bifida my baby has. Im praying that what the doctor told us is a false diagnosis. 😭😭😭😭
My first baby was born with Bi-lateral clubfeet via genetics, as it ran in my family, no spina bifida. We had amazing surgeons that corrected his feet over a few years. He doesn't have full range of motion in his left foot but he gets around well enough, even with arthritis in both ankles. Today, he is a twenty-two year old that has an active job and uses supports for this feet, as well as ankles.
This is truly amazing! Wow! I’m so impressed with the medical community and what it’s capable of! With that said there is a time and place for medical care. I have been blessed to have both home and hospital births naturally and for that I am so thankful! I have my birth videos on my channel.
