@@lilj9326 Cuban Crocodiles that is for the moment. I have seen a few other Documentaries of that happen. I haven’t seen any American Crocodiles do that yet. Hence, for the moment.

@Dylan Geltzeiler hutia’s are very important and critical prey items for Cuban crocodiles, they make up 90% of a Cuban crocodiles diet. Cuban crocs are terrestrial adapt Carnivores after all. Also there are quite a diversity of hutia species, I believe they found a new species in the Dominican Republic.

@Dylan Geltzeiler Yes indeed, but the thing is the Cuban crocodile is a terrestrial crocodile which makes land roaming mammals such as the hutias such important prey items. there was a study on there bones in blue holes in the Bahamas and found they lived in a terrestrial rather than aquatic food web, here’s the paper is called “Domination by Reptiles in a Terrestrial Food Web of the Bahamas Prior to Human Occupation.” Also about the new species in the Dominican Republic it is actually an new species of mammal, a hutia named after James Bond, it’s called Plagiodontia aedium bond. Also since you mentioned new reptile species, they also found new species of iguanas in the Caribbean, iguana insularis from Grenada and the Grenadines, iguana melanoderma from Saba and Montserrat island, and another species to.
