Even though their music really is serious stuff these days, their lyrics remain irreverent and comedic. It’s hilarious when you understand it. Like with Berserker Mode - of course the video makes fun of Jesus as a softie but the lyrics mostly are mockery of gym bros and Viking nerds.

Fafnir originally was a dwarf, the brother of Utter, and Regin. When Loki killed Utter, their father Hreidmar demanded compensation and received the treasure of Andvari, along with the enchanted ring known as Andvaranaut. Andvari, enraged by Loki's theft, cursed the ring to bring death upon its owner. Fafnir and Regin slew their father for the sake of the treasure. Consumed by greed, Fafnir desired the treasure for himself alone, and thus transformed into a dragon, driving Regin away. Regin reforged the pieces of Siegfried's broken sword, Gram, and incited him, to vanquish Fafnir. After he killed the dragon, and roasted its heart, he licked the dripping blood from his finger. From this he gained wisdom, including the ability to understand the language of birds. Afterwards, Sigfried killed Regin and drank the blood of both brothers. Sigfried, too, met his doom, just like every previous owner of the enchanted ring.

Unfortunately, Napalm realise that we are not friendly to non-English lyrics (or decent metal even in English) here in the UK, and there is precisely zero chance of getting any airplay anywhere for Feuerschwanz. Like you, I will have to get my arse in gear and visit Germany to see these guys live I suspect. But that will have to wait until after the long weekend in The Netherlands for Ayreon has been paid for :)

I'd like to suggest, that you get a festival ticket ... Feuerschwanz are so much more fun open air than in a club. And don't head for the bigger festivals like WOA, look out for one, two steps smaller, i.e. RockHarz ... not that overcrowded, less expensive, etc

Bei uns im Niederbayerischen Plattling (Landkreis Deggendorf) ist alle 2 jahre unser Niebelungen markt, der ist nächstes Jahr 2024 im August und alle 4 Jahre unser Niebelungen Festspiel mit der geschichtlichen Aufführung von denn Niebelungen und natürluch auch dazu der Markt 🥰😍 ⚔️🛡️🐉🔥 wir haben das schon eine Ewigkeit und das machen wir weil die Niebelungen bei uns durch Plattling gewandert sind und da Rast gemacht haben! ☺️
