They have 10 studio albums (the 11th, Fegefeuer [Purgatory] is going to be released this July), 3 live albums and 2 compliation albums. The latest compliation, Todsünden (Deadly Sins), released 2022, contains only cover songs.
They were founded in 2004 as a parody band to counterpart the (sometimes overly) serious German medieval folk scene. Over time they've become more medieval rock and went from the straight up parody to a humorous/ light hearted attempt. In recent years they've added more and more metal elements and became a bit more serious (at times). Their original material is usually in German (with some Latin here and there) but in 2020 they started doing cover songs in English too. The current line-up is: Hauptmann Feuerschwanz (Captain Firetail / Captain Firedick), vocals, accoustic guitar, Irish bouzouki, last remaining founding member. Prinz Richard Hodenherz III (Prince Richard Testicleheart III), vocals, all kinds of pipes & whistles, accoustic guitar, Irish bouzouki. Johanna von der Vögleweide (Joan of Birdswillow/ Joan of Screwmeadow), violin, hurdy gurdy. Hans der Aufrechte (Hans the Upright / Hans the Erect), accoustic guitar, electric guitar. Jarne Hodinsson (Jarne [outdated variation of George] Testi'sson), bass guitar. Rollo H. Schönhaar (Rollo [outdated variation of Wolf] H. Prettyhair), drums, newest member as their drummer of 16 years, Sir Lanzeflott (Sir Lancequick), had left mid 2021. Mieze Musch-Musch (Kitty Puss-Puss), dancer, stage & video preformer. Mieze Myu (Kitty Myow), dancer, stage & video preformer, she was guest musician with her harp on a few of their songs, credited under her real name Jenny, which is kind of unusual, as there is an unspoken rule in regards to Feuerschwanz: we don't refer to people with their real name! Out of my head I don't remember a song with an actual breakdown but epic guitar solos are no rarity (not only does Hans look like a wizard, he can do magic on the strings too). Untot im Drachenboot was already mentioned in the comments (so far my favourite by them), but Memento Mori (Latin for Remember Death/ Remember Your Mortality), Das Elfte Gebot (The Eleventh Commandment), Ultima Nocte (Latin for The Last Night/ Final Night) or Kampfzwerg (Battle Dwarf) are all bangers too and that's just a small selection. There might be an English version of Kampfzwerg (titled War Dwarf) coming out this month. With the covers they are all over the place. Their first ever English song was I See Fire (ED Sheeran), but they also did Gimme Gimme Gimme (ABBA), Blinding Lights (The Weeknd), the infamous Dragostei Din Tei (aka the Numa Numa song, original by Moldovan boy group O-Zone) and Warriors Of The World United (ManOwar) which was mentioned in the comments before. The latter one features Saltatio Mortis (represented by vocalist Alea der Bescheidene [Alea the Humble]), Thomas Winkler (ex-Gloryhammer, now Angus McSix) and Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum).
Feuerschwanz (translated to Firetail, but also Firecock which is the true meaning behind the name ;-) ) is a medieval comedy band. The have a couple of real bangers like Untot im Drachenboot (Undead in the dragonboat), Bastard von Asgard and a pretty wild cover version of Manowars Warriors of the World.
